Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How do these compare to the Women's Nordic Photography gloves? Which would be warmer? What about sizing?

A: The womens Nordic Gloves are going to be water resistant and have a Merino wool liner so they would be the better choice to go with in the cold. Sizing wise it is roughly the same.

Q: 2. How durable are these gloves? The 30 day limited warranty doesn't speak confidence on quality.

A: These gloves are very durable and should last a long time if well cared for.

Q: 3. I know that some gloves use magnets to hold the fingertips out of the way. Are there any magnets in these gloves?

A: The Vallerret Milford Fleece Gloves with Rain Covers do not have small magnets to hold the fingertips out of the way.

Q: 4. What is the difference between Ipsoot vs. Pro model?

A: The Vallerret Markhof Pro Model 2.0 Photography Gloves are better made, (more durable construction), than the Vallerret Ipsoot Photography Gloves.

Q: 5. Could you use these with a disposable hand warmer?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. What is the size guide for these gloves?

A: You can find the size guide on the Vallerret website.

Q: 7. What is temp rating for glove?

A: The manufacturer does not give the temperature rating for these gloves, they list; Women's Nordic Photography Glove is designed for Mild Winter Conditions.

Q: 8. Are the pockets located on the back of the hand, and are the pockets large enough to hold "Heat Factory" hand warmers from REI?

A: The pocket is located on the back of the glove, however they are not large enough for hand warmers.

Q: 9. In one of the zippered pockets there is a hexagonal metal piece attached to a cord. What is this used for?

A: That is a tripod key, mainly for helping to tighten down quick release plates to your camera.

[Leather] These gloves appear to be well made and top quality. I received them today (11/30) but was not able to use them out in the field yet, so I can't really comment on how well they keep my hands warm at this time.

I ordered a size XL based on the sizing chart on the Vallerret website, and am glad I did. On the Hand Girth section (9 to 9.8) my hand measurement was a tad over 9, the minimum. But my hand measured 7.5 for the hand length, which was the max for size medium, and the minimum for the Large size. I considered ordering a Large pair, but went with XL and am glad I did. They fit perfectly, a bit snug, but not tight.

Another reviewer said they were floppy and had no substance to them. I did not see this at all with my pair of Tinden gloves. They fit my hand perfectly, I am able to move and bend my fingers easily, and the finger tip folds back no problem and the magnets hold it back securely.

Overall, at the moment I am pleasantly happy with these gloves and would recommend them. The big test will be wearing them out in the field and seeing how well they keep my hands warm. If they fail at that, I will update my review.

[Leather] Not going into deep snow with these but they're good on chilly autumn days.

[Unisex XL] I have wear those gloves for a couple of days now in weather of -15 to -20 celsius and they kept my hands warm. Of course when you removed the tip of the thumb or index you feel the cold. I love those gloves.

[Unisex XL] Used these a few days ago for a 3 hour photo hike in 15 degrees F (= -9.5 C). Kept my hands nice and warm, was really happy. Maybe my little finger got a tiny bit cold so all I needed to do was pull them in for a few mins then extend again. But honestly it was quite cold so something like that is to be expected. I used a cheaper pair of gloves later that day outside for something else and my entire hand was cold. These are fantastic, can recommend them confidently. Size is fairly true - I'd normally use a large and these fit (perhaps a tiny bit more snugly than others but that's good for photography).

[0.55 lb] Grippy, comfortable and nice feel. The magnets simply work to reveal your fingers when required and slip back into the warmth of the glove.

[Unisex XL] I have tried a few different gloves and these fit the best, and allowed me to use my thumb and index finger the easiest. They also close back up well and that is something none of my other gloves would do well. Best above 5* F. I didn't like the little plastic connector to attach them together so I picked up some large grommets and put them in the wrist on top of the logo and they work perfect for using a carabiner to keep them together. I also gave them a wax treatment to make them a bit more water resistant. in the end these are awesome.

[Leather] Had my last pair of Vallerret gloves for 5 years and bought another pair as they are amazing. So warm in the coldest of conditions, comfortable, well made, quality materials. I work outside all year taking photos and these get me thru the winter. Recommended.

[0.55 lb] Only had these a short while but they appear really well made. They are really warm and feel really nice. The magnets simply work to reveal your fingers when required and slip back into the warmth of the glove.

[Leather] Merino wool and leather, what could be better. The best Vallerret gloves made imo.
