Q: 1. What is the weight and texture of this paper?

A: The weight of the Canson Infinity ARCHES 88 is 310gsm (Grams per Square Meter). The paper is made out of 100% cotton. The surface feel is matte and finish is extra smooth.

Q: 2. Does this paper have much of a "curl" to it? Some heavier papers are almost unusable when I get to the end of a roll in my Epson 4880.

A: All papers will have a slight curl that will straighten out over a short period of time. This paper should not have any issues.

Q: 4. Back before Christmas I purchased two boxes of Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag paper (8.5x11 and 13x19) from B&H. I now have a new Canon imageProGraf 300 printer. I've downloaded the ICC profile for this paper, but Canson does not indicate the "Media Type" setting that I should use in PS or LR. Could anyone advise me what media setting I should use?

A: You can probably use Luster or Exhibition Fiber which is also in the semi gloss family. Please note: being that the TM300 is only a 4 color printer not really for photos or fine art, you can't expect to get the exact color on prints anyway. You'll need a printer like the Pro 4100.

Q: 5. How do this compare with the Epson Platine?

A: The Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag Paper (8.5 x 11", 25 Sheets) has 89.12% whiteness and high water resistance. The Epson Legacy Platine Paper has 82% whiteness.

Q: 6. can I use this in my laser printer?

A: It is not recommended for laser printers, nor made for them. It will work with both dye and pigment inks on an inkjet printer

Q: 7. I was wondering if this paper is short grain or long grain.

A: The Canson Infinity Rag Photographique Duo Paper is short grain.

Q: 8. Does this have optical brighteners in it?

A: The Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II has a very low OBA content.

Q: 9. After printing on this paper, do you use any kind of finisher or sealant to protect the print? If it matters, I'll be using an Epson surecolor printer and manufacturer pigments.

A: It is not necessary to use any finisher or sealant to ensure longevity of a print printed on the Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II paper. If you plan on having this displayed uncovered for a long period of time, you may want to use something. But for most standard usage this is not necessary.

Q: 10. Can this paper be used with large format Canon printer ?

A: I never tried , but probebly....I use it with an Epson 3880 ....

[Cotton Rag] This fine cotton Aquarelle from ARCHES (now owned by Canson Infinity) has a whiter white point and random texture whereas the Canson Aquarelle is warmer with a uniform texture. Both are lovely cotton papers with good weight and hand. While I prefer the warmth of the Canson version, I far prefer the natural, mould made appearance of the texture of the ARCHES Aquarelle. The print gamuts of both are excellent and the D-max of the Arches is surprisingly high. That D-max plus the whiter white point offers really nice contrast and sharpness and it improves the colour gamut. Colour Systems Inc., Toronto 5

[1.575 lb] We make digital documentations of artists' paintings after which the artists select suitable fine art papers on which to print the scans. They then sell these prints. It is bulky and prints beautifully. Its texture is random and feels mould made as opposed to the uniform machine made feel of other cold pressed papers. It has a clear water colour feel. But, it emulates canvas beautifully. Its white point is bright and clean without the use of OBAs. Our clients love this Aquarelle Rag. Colour Systems Inc. 5

[Cotton Rag] Wonderful full bodied paper with a superior texture. It completes a fine art photograph and is also very good I’d you photograph fine art works to make prints. 5

[1.575 lb] This Aquarelle is brighter and whiter than the Canson Aquarelle. But, like all Canson and arches fine art papers it has NO OBAs. It has a strong, randomized texture with a sturdy cotton bulk. As a water colour like stock, it suits painterly, lyrical or romantic images extremely well. 5

[25x Sheet Paper] This is a lovely texture what colour style of cotton paper. It is heavy and bright white without the use of any Optical Brightening Agents (OBAs). It is often selected by artists for whom we have made digital documentations of their paintings because its texture emulates and evokes canvas. We love it and our clients do as well.
