Control up to 28 PTZ cameras using NDI, IP, or serial with the PTZOptics SuperJoy NDI HX IP Serial PTZ Camera Controllerfrom PTZOptics. The SuperJoy offers joystick and button control for up to 28 PTZ cameras, in four groups of seven cameras each, with support for NDI, VISCA, VISCA-over-IP, Pelco-P, and Pelco-D protocols over IP and serial RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 communication. It enables you to control the speed of your pan, tilt, zoom, and lock moves and incorporates an LCD screen.

The controller also offers the ability to control iris, focus, white balance, exposure, and on-the-fly speed control to control the finer camera settings on the PTZ cameras. An HDMI output allows you to send the camera video to a remote streaming unit, and the status information can also be included in the output. Other features include glowing buttons for working in the dark, 255 camera presets, nine quick presets, and four super preset buttons. You can import and export configurations using IP or via the USB port.

The SuperJoy supports a variety of camera models and manufacturers, and you can simultaneously control multiple brands such as HuddleCamHD, Sony, PTZOptics, BirdDog, and NewTek. The unit comes with an 8' long RS-232C cable and 12 VDC power supply, or it can be powered using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

A: You could connect a pair of these to a network hub. We are not aware of it being daisy-chained though.

A: It is, indeed, decoding the Program and RTSP output via HDMI.

A: The short answer: Yes it can but we only recommend using this controller with PTZ Optics Cameras. While it is possible to use this controller with other NDI and IP cameras we cant guarantee full functionality (such as adjusting white balance color shading etc). Most of our customers that try to cross brands on IP based solutions (even in an instance like this where they both support VISCA over IP protocols) have experienced problems. For experienced IP professionals there are ways around the limitations to make this work with most IP based PTZ cameras. For people who are just starting out (or want a set up with low maintenance) we recommend matching PTZ cameras with controllers designed by the same manufacturer.

[6 W] This controller has been incredibly easy to configure and use. While some functions required the manual to figure out, others are so intuitive that I was able to figure them out via trial and error on the first try. This is a solid addition to our livestream ecosystem. 5

[15 x 8.6 x 5"] We use this in a church sanctuary to control three PTZ cameras. Previously, we had PTZ's IP SuperController, which was frankly, a pretty bad experience. We took a chance one this newer iteration and we love it. Solidly built, responds well, controls what we need and most importantly has not once had to reboot itself at the slightest static shock. 5

[12 VDC] We've only had it a couple of weeks, but this is a great unit. It is solidly built and easy to program / set up. It's heavy enough to not worry about it sliding on the table top. I really love the POE feature so there's no need for extra power cable -- this helps to reduce clutter on the desktop. The Joystick responds well and is easy to use. I do with all the buttons lit up, or perhaps light up a second or two when pressed (as a visual feedback). My other wish is that it had feet or a stand that could make it angle a little more. But these wish-list items do not discount my 5-star rating. Overall, this is a great unit. I would definitely purchase this one again. 5

[PoE 802.3af] I use this controller for up to three PTZ 30x cameras, via PoE Ethernet. Nearly every feature of the camera is accessible through this controller. Besides pan, tilt and zoom, I regularly use manual exposure control, and up to 10 preset positions for each camera. A particularly nice feature is the ability to attach an HDMI monitor to view the currently selected camera via Ethernet RTSP. You set the speed one notch below that of your HDMI or SDI video. This is an essential feature when working with software (e.g., WireCast) or hardware (e.g., SlingStudio) which has a significant lag time. The monitor lag is only a few frames, which is easy to accommodate. I ultimately bought two Superjoy controllers, because I rely on it for nearly every job. 5
