Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where can I get a profile for this paper?

A: If you are using a Canon Printer there will be a profile in the Canon Print driver. If you are not using a Canon printer there is no profile published by Canon. You would select a Luster or Semi Gloss profile from Epson etc.

Q: 2. What is the best paper for General everyday printing and for photo printing using a Canon Pixma G3200 megatank inkjet printer?

A: I use the Pixma Pro-100, and I use the Canon Photo Paper Pro Luster. Excellent quality paper. Good price for a great quality paper.

Q: 3. This might be a challenge! I use Capture One Pro with Canon's Pixma Pro-100. the Profiles are loaded in C1. When using LU-101, it gives me 2 profiles: "3 photo paper pro luster" and "1/2 photo paper pro luster". What the heck is the difference? The "3" versus the "1/2" has me flummoxed.

A: The difference is related to the quality that you selected in the driver. Lower numbers are higher quality. The idea is to match the quality you selected in the drive dialog with the appropriate profile.

Q: 4. What media type setting should be used for this paper??

A: Most Canon printers will have a setting for this paper. It depends which printer you are using and if not Canon there is a setting for other paper that is pearl or luster I would use that. Or make a few small tests at different settings to check which gives the best results.

Q: 5. Does this paper stretch and shrink with changes in temperature or humidity?

A: it should not stretch or shrink with temp or humidity changes./

Q: 6. Is this paper considered archival suitable for selling print?

A: While I don't have the direct answer to the question, according to the Canon website It's great for portrait and wedding and fine art photography prints. if you do a search on Canon photo paper specifications , you will eventually find the Canon photo paper site. I am personally very please with the quality of the prints produced on this paper with my Canon Pro-100 printer.

Q: 7. Can l use for canon 1000?

A: This would work with the Canon PROGRAF PRO-1000 printer, but you wold not have any ICC profiles for it.

Q: 8. Why doesn't this paper come in 5x7 sheets? OR do people alter the 8.5x11 sheets into 5x7; I use Canon premium pro Matte 8.5 x 11 to tone down troublesome after dark imaging; I like the Canon Pro Luster for portraiture

A: I cut it down to 5x7 sheets. I think it is a very nice photo paper for any enlargements.

Q: 9. Will this paper work with the epson pro 4800?

A: The 4800 can only print up to 17 inches wide. Epson makes a 16 inch roll that would be compatible:http://bhpho.to/1vP4B4M

Q: 10. Would this fit into the Canon Prograf 1000?

A: Yes, you can use the Canon Photo Paper Pro Luster (17 x 22", 25 Sheets) with the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 17" Professional Photographic Inkjet Printer, B&H # CAPP1000.

[310 gsm] This paper is VERY similar (if not identical) to Ilford's Gallery Gold fibre Silk I have used for years. Actually, even though Hanamuhle provides a suitable profile (for my Epson 9800), I still prefer to use the Ilford supplied profile as it more closely matches the results using the Ilford branded paper. Beautiful surface and a substantial weight at 310 GSM. Only problem with this thickness paper, is it remains somewhat curly if left on the roll for long periods of time.
