Q: 1. I purchased 2 boxes of Canson's Platine Fibre Rag paper from B&H back in December. I now have a Canon imageprograf 300 printer. I've downloaded the icc profile from Canson's site. The accompanying pdf recommends that in PS, the media paper type should be set at "Matte Paper". However, the label on the box describes the paper as "Ultra Smooth Glossy". Would anyone have a suggestion as to the correct media type for this paper?

Q: 2. does this paper fold without cracking? I would like to use it for a long concertina book and have been trying to find an art paper that won't crack when folded?

A: The problem you're having is that you want to fold against the paper's grain, as I assume your long length is coming out of the 50' dimension of the roll. Any inkjet paper will crack to some degree. You should be able to mitigate this by scoring the paper before folding, using a tool designed for such (google: paper scoring tool), or in a pinch use a ruler and paper clip. You want to put the score on the side of the paper away from direction of fold (not on the inside the fold).Alternatively, you could consider getting a 36 or 44 roll and cutting the strip you want to inkjet out of this roll (assuming 36 or 44 would be long enough for your brochure?). This would mean you'd be folding with the paper's grain anyway, though you'd probably still want to score the paper before folding anyway just to help.

[1x Paper Roll] This is a lovely texture what colour style of cotton paper. It is heavy and bright white without the use of any Optical Brightening Agents (OBAs). It is often selected by artists for whom we have made digital documentations of their paintings because its texture emulates and evokes canvas. We love it and our clients do as well. It is bulky and prints beautifully. Its texture is random and feels mould made as opposed to the uniform machine made feel of other cold pressed papers. It has a clear water colour feel. [96.76%] This Aquarelle is brighter and whiter than the Canson Aquarelle. But, like all Canson and arches fine art papers it has NO OBAs. It has a strong, randomized texture with a sturdy cotton bulk. As a water colour like stock, it suits painterly, lyrical or romantic images extremely well. 5

[14.96 lb] Great paper. I love it for the texture and weight. It's thicker than epson velvet paper but also comes with a higher price tag. I don't print a ton so for me it worths the price diff. The only thing to note is that because it's thick it might cause jam with your printer, depending on the model. The solution is to give the paper a bit pressure to push it in when printing. 5
