[Matte] This paper is as gorgeous as its traditional sister. I scanned and printed (large) sunflower petals, and many have remarked that the paper has a faint velvety fuzz, just like a real sunflower. That's why I chose it! SO much character in an inkjet paper. It holds an astounding level of detail without looking computer-y or even traditionally photographic.

[99.12%] I used mostly Canson Papers, this has some texture, but not as much as Hahndmuhle William Turner, works well for me.

[Cotton Rag] Rives has been making papers for centuries and this paper lives up to its fine tradition. Beautiful and saturated colors. The paper has a nice weight and a beautiful surface.

[Matte] This paper is worth the cost. It is a beautiful white paper with a satisfying texture that makes digital illustrations shine in printed format.

[Single] This paper has a highly refined surface; other manufacturers should take a close look and think about how their matte surfaces compare. So far I've made a single-chart profile that was more than sufficient to make an excellent proof, and that convinced me to order the "regular" white surface as well. One thing that sets these papers apart, as a pair, is that their base colors are close (it seems to me) and this provides for a subtler choice between two matte surfaces of the same "line."

The slight premium you pay for this paper is hardly a disincentive to use it. I believe this product shows that there is a bit of room in the market for a few more premium papers.

[Cotton Rag] It appeals to me that this paper provides a nicely-calibrated choice of the same product in a slightly whiter white which-I think-has no optical brighteners. This option may make for a nicer match between the paper color and the color of favorite mat board.

[Cotton Rag] After testing many fine Canson and Arches papers recently, we settled on Arches BFK Rives Pure White and White, Arches 88 and Arches Aquarelle. BFK Rives Pure White has a lovely random texture which is milder than the Aquarelle but still quite apparent. It has a bright white point which it achieves without the help of any OBAs whatsoever. It also yields an impressive D-max and wide colour gamut relative to many other fine art matte stocks. As a result of these it was included in our library of fine art papers. The prints that we have made on this paper are stunning.

[8.525 lb] ARCHES BFK Rives Pure White is a remarkable inkjet paper at 310 gsm with superb qualities for fine art reproduction. It is a 100% cotton stock with a random textured surface which is milder than the Arches Aquarelle but more pronounced than some cold pressed papers. It has an excellent white point without the use of any OBAs whatsoever. It has become a very popular choice for many of our artistic clients who want the digital reproductions that we make of their artwork rendered to this paper. The results are very impressive.

[8.525 lb] The Pure white version of this stock is as bright white as the Arches Aquarelle. It is also as heavy. Like the Aquarelle, the texture is randomized. But, it is milder than the Aquarelle. If the level of coarseness of the Arches Aquarelle is 5 then the BFK Rives is 3. It has a deep D-max for a matte fine art stock. But, once again Canson has been able to achieve a bright white without OBAs. So, the contrast range is very impressive. If one feels that a warmer stock is required for the work to be printed, then the BFK Rives white is the go to. It is clearly warmer than the Pure White version. Otherwise, they are identical.
