Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I was wondering if this paper is short grain or long grain.

A: The Canson Infinity Rag Photographique Duo Paper is short grain.

Q: 2. does this paper have optical whiteners/brighteners?

A: Hello,No. This paper is free of optical brightening agents. It is designed for artists and photographers using inkjet technology. It is a very very great paper, top quality. I have made over 100 Black and white photos with this one and the results are beautiful. I hope this answer will be helpul for you. Happy Holidays! Bernard, from Qubec, Canada

Q: 3. How do this compare with the Epson Platine?

A: The Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag Paper (8.5 x 11", 25 Sheets) has 89.12% whiteness and high water resistance. The Epson Legacy Platine Paper has 82% whiteness.

Q: 4. Is the paper grain parallel to the short side or the long side?

A: Canson Infinity Rag Photographique Duo 220gsm, is grain short (grain direction is aligned with the shortest dimension of the sheet) to facilitate potentially folding pages when presented horizontally.

Q: 5. Back before Christmas I purchased two boxes of Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag paper (8.5x11 and 13x19) from B&H. I now have a new Canon imageProGraf 300 printer. I've downloaded the ICC profile for this paper, but Canson does not indicate the "Media Type" setting that I should use in PS or LR. Could anyone advise me what media setting I should use?

A: You can probably use Luster or Exhibition Fiber which is also in the semi gloss family. Please note: being that the TM300 is only a 4 color printer not really for photos or fine art, you can't expect to get the exact color on prints anyway. You'll need a printer like the Pro 4100.

Q: 6. Is curling and then flattening required when using this paper as rolls instead of cut sheets?

A: The Canson Infinity Baryta Prestige II Glossy Paper (17" x 50' Roll) does not have excessive curling after printing so flattening is usually not required.

Q: 7. Can this paper be used with large format Canon printer ?

A: I never tried , but probebly....I use it with an Epson 3880 ....

Q: 8. Does this paper have much of a "curl" to it? Some heavier papers are almost unusable when I get to the end of a roll in my Epson 4880.

A: All papers will have a slight curl that will straighten out over a short period of time. This paper should not have any issues.

Q: 9. is this paper archival?

A: No, the Canson Infinity PhotoGloss Premium RC Paper is not archival.

Q: 10. How do I eliminate bronzing on Canon pro-100?

A: Best is to use the printer specific ICC profiles for the Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag Paper and the Canon PIXMA PRO-100 Wireless Professional Inkjet Photo Printer when printing. [310 gsm] I used mostly Canson Papers, this has some texture, but not as much as Hahndmuhle William Turner, works well for me.

[97%] After testing many fine Canson and Arches papers recently, we settled on Arches BFK Rives Pure White and White, Arches 88 and Arches Aquarelle. BFK Rives Pure White has a lovely random texture which is milder than the Aquarelle but still quite apparent. It has a bright white point which it achieves without the help of any OBAs whatsoever. It also yields an impressive D-max and wide colour gamut relative to many other fine art matte stocks. As a result of these it was included in our library of fine art papers. The prints that we have made on this paper are stunning.

[97%] This paper produces amazing prints. A lovely matte finish with moderate texture. B&H do a great job shipping photo paper, no damage etc.

[99%] This paper is as gorgeous as its traditional sister. I scanned and printed (large) sunflower petals, and many have remarked that the paper has a faint velvety fuzz, just like a real sunflower. That's why I chose it! SO much character in an inkjet paper. It holds an astounding level of detail without looking computer-y or even traditionally photographic.
