The Hohem iSteady X2, in white, is a compact 3-axis gimbal stabilizer for capturing smooth and steady video with your smartphone. As you follow your subject, it compensates for any hand-shake, stabilizing your phone along the pan, tilt, and roll axes to deliver professional-looking, cinematic shots. You can also manually move the gimbal head (along with your attached smartphone) up to 320° on each of these axes by using the onboard joystick to achieve smooth motion shots.

The adjustable phone clamp fits up to 3.5" wide smartphones, supporting virtually all popular phones, such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The small size of the gimbal is made even more portable thanks to a folding design. The top part folds over the ergonomic handgrip, allowing you to easily pack the gimbal away in your bag during your travels, vlog shoots, and all other applications.

The iSteady X2 comes with a small remote control that works from up to 33' away. It allows you to control most of the gimbal functions, including some of those that are only possible via the included companion iOS/Android app, such as zoom in/out (on phones that support this function). The remote also lets you trigger photo capture, start/stop video recording, and turn the gimbal on and off.

A key feature of the iSteady X2 is automatic tracking of faces and objects, achieved with the companion Hohem Pro mobile app, which is provided as a free download. When you're capturing video of yourself vlogging, you can turn on tracking by displaying the appropriate hand gesture towards your phone. The gimbal will then follow you as you move around. Alternatively, to track a subject other than yourself, whether a person, pet, or object, you simply need to designate in the app what it is you want tracked by assigning a square over it. Hand gestures can also be used to trigger photo capture and start/stop video recording.

The gimbal features a 1/4"-20 mounting thread on the bottom for attaching the supplied mini tripod. The tripod can be used as a stand or as an additional handgrip, so you can hold the gimbal with two hands. It can be used as a stand when you're vlogging with face tracking on as well. Also included with the gimbal are a USB charging cable, a safety wrist lanyard, and a carry pouch.

The companion Hohem Pro iOS/Android app additionally offers seven creative features based on preset axis movements. These include Inception Mode (autorotation), Fantastic Rotation, Dolly Zoom, Panoramic Video, Time-Lapse Video, Dynamic, and Lucky Time. When using the app, which links your phone to the gimbal over Bluetooth, you'll be able to use the onboard gimbal control buttons to start/stop recording, take a photo, switch between modes, switch between front and rear cameras, zoom in/out (on phones where this is supported), and more.

The gimbal runs for up to ten hours on the built-in battery. The battery can also be used to charge your smartphone during operation in case your phone battery starts running low. This is done by connecting a USB cable from the bidirectional USB Type-C port of the gimbal to your smartphone, effectively using the gimbal as a power bank for your phone. This same port is used to charge the gimbal battery in approximately 2.5 hours from any standard USB charger, sold separately.

Switch between portrait and landscape modes with the press of a button. Portrait shots are preferable for select social media destinations.

[1.5 A] This device packs a ton of creative power. The 3-axis servos are quiet and responsive which yield ultra-smooth and pro-looking shots. The native software is full of features and controls which put the videographer in full control of the visual story. The pre-set modes are functional and offer some tweaking while the manual modes give full motion control. All of the preset functions can also be activated through button press sequences on the actual device. The device also offers tripod functionality. Hohem also publishes a comprehensive set of videos (both in the app and on YouTube) that explains and demonstrates many of the features. The only weakness in this package is that some of the English translations in the manual and videos use awkward phrases. This gimbal is a must-have. 5

[3.7 VDC] The only drawback is its short battery life (8 hrs.) My galaxy s21 with a Toras case (about same weight and size as a Moment case) fits in the iSteady's clamp securely, which was a problem I was having with other phone gimbals. And with my case, which is a standard case, the phone still comes in at about .5 oz under the iSteady's weight limit. It's so small and easy to pack or even to pocket. For any phone this is a great choice but for the Galaxy s21 ultra this is the BEST choice. I also tried the Benro 3xs and Moza Mini P. The 3xs clamp wouldn't hold the s21 ultra even with NO CASE, and the Moza mini p was great but it took a long time to set up for every use and was larger than other phone gimbals (because the mini P is also for mirrorles cams.) This Isteady X is a perfect accessory to bring up your s21 ultra footage 5

[1x 18650] Unit interfaces nicely with iPhone XR. App functionality work like it should. Battery for Gimbal lasted all day on a full charge. Phone clip holder is strong. the base removes so you can attach to a monopod, or other plate. 5

[1.5 A] I am new to making movies with my iPhone and I wanted something that would improve the quality over shooting handheld. The Hohem iSteady X2 Smartphone Gimbal fit the bill. It is priced right, easy to use, easy to get started with and performs great. I don't use it every day when I do I never have a problem with it. I would recommend it to anyone looking to start using a gimbal with their smartphone. It does an excellent job. 5

[3.7 VDC] The iSteady X is the LIGHTEST yet the MOST POWERFUL smartphone gimbal as of 2020. It operates with the large and heavy phones such as iPhone 11 Pro Max without any problem - iPhone 11 Pro Max is 230 grams while the iSteady X supports 280 grams. The clamp grasps the phone tightly and securely which gives me peace in mind. The buttons on the gimbal and the functions in the APP are easy to use with nearly zero learning curve. Last but not least, its folding size is the most compact in the market, very easy to carry around. By the way, all the 3 axes can be locked, converting the gimbal into a tripod which I consider as a bonus. 5
