The brown DPA 4466 CORE Omnidirectional Headset Mic for Shure Transmittersfrom DPA 4466 CORE Omnidirectional Headset Mic for Shure Transmittersis a lightweight omnidirectional headset microphone with an advanced, fully adjustable, stainless steel headset mechanism. The visually discreet, dual-ear design offers a very comfortable wearing experience for presenters and performers while providing broadcast-quality sound up to the demanding standards of theater, TV, and live event professionals.

The 4466 fits the wearer by using 3-point ear grips with spring mechanisms that grip comfortably above and below the ears and to the side of the head for added security. The 2-way adjustable boom system—length and height—features an anti-rotate mechanism that makes it easy to position the tiny 5mm mic capsule for optimal sound quality. A sliding lock mechanism secures the boom positioning. In addition, the 90° cable management system safeguards the cable from stress and directs it down the wearer's back, where it can't be seen.

DPA's CORE technology is at the heart of the electret-condenser capsule, providing an ultralow noise floor and wide dynamic range. With an SPL rating of 144 dB, the microphone is more than capable of handling loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters to deliver clean, transparent, and reliable sound for critical performances and presentations.

The 4466 CORE is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless microphone transmitter and features a modular design using a Microdot output connector. This version includes a TA4F adapter compatible with Shure transmitters. A foam windscreen and carrying case are also included.

A: This headset come with a mini XLR and a standard XLR adapter. I love this headset because I can use it with my wireless body transmitter and also use it pulgged in to my mixer. It does require phatom power when used with a mixer.

[Plug-In Power] Okay, so I was worried because they were SO inexpensive. But, they work like a champ! I teach HS, my musical theatre class was in desperate need of new mics and these fit the bill. The wires are a little flimsy, but the sound is great. Just remind your kids to be gentle with them, and if they aren't, well it's not going to break the bank to replace them... right? 5

[Brown] This mic has a smaller cartridge than the single-hook Pyles, and a clearer and a little warmer sound. Pyle also upgraded the strain-relief in the connector. I just finished a student musical with 18 of these and no failures. If you cannot afford Countryman, these are a viable alternative. 5

[Brown] Like others, I was skeptical, but I read the reviews from church and school A/V leaders who said this picks up the spoken word just as well as any other microphone, and they were correct. I help with the A/V department at my church, and we ordered a couple of these, and they work just fine. I dont know how long it will last, but at the price, it can be easily replaced many times over vs. the cost of an expensive headworn mic. 5

[Brown] Needed a few more headworn mics for a local church sponsored play. Since we are on a tight budget I decided to give this mic a try. I love the result. I ordered six on Tuesday and they were delivered (free shipping) by Thursday. When I tried them on our actors I could tell very little difference when compared to our very expensive headworn mics. I would recommend this mic for any application needing minimal visibility and good voice quality. Only negative is a lack of size adjustment for larger (or smaller) heads but that has not been a big issue for our cast. 5

[Omnidirectional] We use these for the kids musicals and they work great.� We've even used these for speakers and it works for most speakers.� For most ears, it will be hard to tell the difference between these and some more expensive microphones. 5

[Omnidirectional] We needed a head-worn microphone for our church services but had a limited budget. I was hesitant about this microphone at first d to its really low cost in comparison to some other brands, but decided to try it anyway. Another selling point was the beige color that makes it less obtrusive. I wired a small adapter to change the connector pin out to match the EV body pack wireless transmitter we had. This microphone works great and we have been using it every week for over a year with no problems. We record the sermons live and the recorded and in-house live audio is remarkable, especially for a unit so competitively priced. The wiring isn't heavy duty, but I still give this microphone five stars based on the performance and value. 5

[Brown] As the audio tech for our church, I bought this mic to replace an aging and fraying Countryman over-the-ear mic.� We've had it for only two weeks and so far no problems.� No more taping the mic to the face of the pastor and fighting to shape the ear holder.� The headpiece fits well and stays in place, and the mic sounds just as good as the old mic.� Note that this mic puts out a stronger signal into the Shure SLX1 body pack transmitter and the receiver can show a lot of red (clipping) for signal strength for a strong voice.� That was fixed by setting the body pack gain switch to 0 (db) instead of the mic position, which allowed the gain/trim on the mixer to be set back to its normal position.� As others have said, at this price it can't be beat.� I plan on buying two more as spares. 5
