The beige DPA 4466 CORE Omnidirectional Headset Mic for Lectrosonics & Sennheiserfrom DPA 4466 CORE Omnidirectional Headset Mic for Lectrosonics & Sennheiseris a lightweight omnidirectional headset microphone with an advanced, completely adjustable, stainless steel headset mechanism. The visually discreet, dual-ear design offers a very comfortable wearing experience for presenters and performers while providing broadcast-quality sound up to the demanding standards of theater, TV, and live event professionals.

The 4466 fits the wearer by using 3-point ear grips with spring mechanisms that grip comfortably above and below the ears and to the side of the head for added security. The 2-way adjustable boom system—length and height—features an anti-rotate mechanism that makes it easy to position the tiny 5mm mic capsule for optimal sound quality. A sliding lock mechanism secures the boom positioning. In addition, the 90° cable management system safeguards the cable from stress and directs it down the wearer's back, where it can't be seen.

DPA's CORE technology is at the heart of the electret-condenser capsule, providing an ultralow noise floor and wide dynamic range. With an SPL rating of 144 dB, the microphone is more than capable of handling loud speakers, vocalists, and presenters to deliver clean, transparent, and reliable sound for critical performances and presentations.

The 4466 CORE is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless transmitter and features a modular design using a Microdot output connector. This version includes a 3-pin LEMO adapter compatible with Lectrosonics SSM, Sennheiser SK, and Wisycom MTP transmitters. A foam windscreen and carrying case are also included.

[Omnidirectional] We have used this particular mic for years, and the sound is very good without feedback.

[Plug-In Power] This is by far the cleanest sounding, extremely low noise omnidirectional mic I've owned. I absolutely love listening to the results of my recordings as I always get beautiful results. Also, they very require very little to no audio editing/treatment before I render my tracks. As of now I've owned the 2006c(stereo pair)for 4 months and I have no complaints thus far.

[Omnidirectional] These mics are some of the most natural sounding microphones I've heard. They have a super flat frequency response - the flattest of any consumer or professional mic I've seen, except for measuring microphones. The tiny diameter of the mic (about 1/4 in) makes for excellent off-axis high end response. It's difficult to hear much difference in sound quality, whether you're on axis, or 90 deg off axis to the mic. This should make them great for small venues up close with no proximity effect, or for large auditoriums at further distances to the sound source. Of-course, the downside is the relatively high noise level - 23 dBA. I've played around with these mics in a living room environment and a smaller bedroom set up as a sound room, recording music from loudspeakers. So far, I've not noticed the noise level, or at least it hasn't become apparent above the room noise, which was relatively quiet. Recording music from my ESS Hiel Tower loudspeakers equalized for flat response over the range of my one octave analyser (31.5 Hz - 16 KHz), they sounded absolutely phenomenal. Deep, rich, clean bass up through the smooth highs, these mics are great. I look forward to recording some live music with them.

[Plug-In Power] The sound is both fat and loud; really nice. This mic replaced the Sennheiser MKE2, which was quieter and thinner. Though the DPA 4080's sound is really full, the speech intelligibility is superb. The spoken word is distinct and clear. Used in a Baptist church with a Sennheiser lapel (EW 112p G4) microphone. If you want pro quality sound for your sermon, get this mic.

[Omnidirectional] It’s hard to find many reviews of headset mics, but I have to say that all the positive things I heard about the DPA d:fine line are true. The 4188 sounds amazing and especially compared the Crown CM311 and the cheaper Shure WH20 models I’ve owned. The CM311 was so uncomfortable and cumbersome and I could never dial in my sound to get close to studio quality. This is the first time I’ve actually been happy with the sound and feels like it rivals my studio mics. Love the light weight and inconspicuous appearance. I got the 120mm boom and was worried about the length but it turned out to be perfect for getting the mic to the corner of my mouth.

[Plug-In Power] Did you know that the Mars Rover has a DPA (Danish Professional Audio) microphone built into it? The 4097 is a high SPL mic that is used by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir to Faith Presbyterian Church in Sacramento. You can't find a better mic for this purpose.
