With automapping, the Oxygen MKV's faders, pan, knobs, transport buttons, record arm, solo, mute, and more are able to control the corresponding functions in most popular DAWs. Whether you use Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Studio One, Ableton Live, MPC Beats, Cubase, or others, the MKV will help you settle into a comfortable and smooth workflow.

The Smart controls on the MKV make producing music both easier and faster. Thanks to Smart Chord, you can play full chords from a single note, while Smart Scale only allows the correct notes in a selected scale to be played. There are 15 scale variations as well as a custom mode, so you can forget about hitting wrong notes and running out of fingers.

Designed to impart excitement and rhythmic movement to your music, the onboard arpeggiator can repeatedly trigger the notes you play according to a selected sequence, and it works in the keyboard's BPM or locked to the tempo of your DAW session. It is customizable with Latch and Momentary operating modes and other parameters such as swing, gate, octave, and type.

The bundled software features Ableton Live Lite and MPC Beats, the latter with five expansion packs. These DAWs can take you from sequencing and recording all the way to mixdown, and they're compatible with the included Hybrid 3 synthesizer and Mini Grand piano virtual instruments from Air Music Technology. Additionally, you get 60 free lessons from Melodics and a 3-month Skoove membership to strengthen your playing skills and elevate your musical knowledge.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. what's the longest usb cable i can use with this thing...? i'm using a 1-1.5meter cable and it only works sometimes. it is frustrating that there is no information about this, and the cable that comes with the keystationmini 32 is really really short.....

A: I would replace the cable. Typically USB cables may be used up to 15 feet without signal loss issues.

Q: 2. How do I suspend or change the velocity? It doesn't work properly or I do something wrong.

A: In the menu, you should see a 'VEL CURVE' setting that you can select and adjust the velocity on the keys as needed.

Q: 3. Does this have an auxiliary output jack that you can plug into headphones or a boom box?

A: No, the Keystation 88 is a MIDI keyboard controller which has digital ports for USB and MIDI, but it does not have any analog inputs or outputs to connect a boom box or headphones. You can connect headphones to your computer for monitoring. If you want a more traditional keyboard that is a similar size and in the same general price range, you may like the Alesis Concert 88-Key Digital Piano with Full-Sized Keys (B&H # ALCONCERT) which has a stereo output for headphones, but no aux input. The Artesia PE-88 Portable Digital Piano / Arranger Keyboard (B&H # ARPE88) which has headphone and line outputs, stereo aux input and a microphone input. We do have more options for other models listed with our portable keyboards. Please contact us by phone or through live chat on the website for further assistance.

Q: 4. Should I go for this or arturia minilab Does they have the same features

A: If you are seeking a MIDI keyboard to pair with FL Studio, the Novation FLkey 37 USB MIDI Keyboard Controller for FL Studio is a top recommendation, as it has a feature set designed to integrate seamlessly with FL Studio's interface. For general comparison, the FLkey 37 has more keys and pads than the Minilab, but the Minilab has more rotary encoders. The FLkey has wheels for Pitch and Modulation functionality where the Minilab has touch sensors.

Q: 5. does this keyboard have its own tone generator? Or will I need a seperate synth for it to play through?

A: The StudioLogic SL88 is a MIDI controller with no built in sounds. An external sound generator or music creation software is needed.

Q: 6. Does it have midi aftertouch?

A: Yes, the Akai Professional MPK Mini MK3 25-Key MIDI Controller has aftertouch.

Q: 7. Will this work with Garage Band?

A: Yes, the Akai Professional MPK Mini MK3 25-Key MIDI Controller is compatible for use with GarageBand.

Q: 8. can this be used for controlling organ drawbars and other various synth keyboard controlls through a daw?

A: Yes with the ICON Digital i Controls Mini USB MIDI Controller you can control drawbars and other various keyboard EFX and parameters as long as they are in your DAW. You would not be able to control an arranger for example that was not a virtual instrument. As long as it lives in your DAW you will be fine.

Q: 9. Does the KOMPLETE KONTROL A25 have full-sized keys or mini keys?

A: The Native Instruments KOMPLETE KONTROL A25 - 25-Key Controller for KOMPLETE (BH # NAKKA25) features full-sized, semi-weighted keys.

Q: 10. Besides the bundled software, what are the differences between this MK3 version and the previous M-Audio Keystation Mini 32 II version?

A: The main differences between the Keystation Mini 32 MKII and MKIII versions are the included software and a slight color change for the body.

[5.33 lb] I've been playing piano for over 50 years now. And all types of keyboards over the last half century as they've evolved (Farfisa Compact, Hammond B3, Ensoniq, Fatar, Korg, etc.) But, I've always loved the piano the most. I owned a beautiful 6' Yamaha Grand for 25 years but had to get rid of it 10 years ago due to our downsizing to a smaller place; it took up a LOT of room. Since then, I've bought and subsequently donated a dozen or so other keyboards, which sounded good, but didn't have that true piano feel. Any pianist can close their eyes and tell you if it's a real piano, just by that feel. But, not with this baby! With the right software (True Pianos, Kontakt, Ominsphere, etc.) you can sound as good as ANY piano on this planet, AND you can do it with headphones if you want! But, the feel, the expression, is pure piano! Why is it perfect?; Price, Quality, Weight (it's very heavy!), Appearance (it's beautiful!), Simplicity (it's just a keyboard with no screen, and no internal sounds; my PC monitor and keyboard is in front of it), and most importantly - FEEL. It IS a real piano. Just close your eyes and play....... It's perfect in every way. The last keyboard I will ever need and own!!!

[Monochrome LCD] I found nothing wrong with this keyboard since I opened it, everything works smoothly, there are auto-midi-mapped buttons for specific DAW's and its lots of fun to customize!

[Monochrome LCD] I am throughly please with this keyboard midi controller. The action is so much like a regular piano. The build is a good quality, and while it doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles (which can sometimes get in the way), it performs flawlessly. This keyboard is worth twice the price. If you’re thinking of buying it, do it.

[5.33 lb] A huge step up from the semi-weighted and spring-action keyboards I'm used to. Built solid, with a metal top and some sort of heavy-density material on the bottom, very rigid and hefty. Plastic but not hollow-feeling keys. The action is definitely on the heavy side which I like. The keys don't make a clicky racket like the Keystation 88. Wheels and buttons are good quality, slider is just OK. Mine came with a slight dent in the metal top, apparently a manufacturing defect because the packaging was undamaged and there's no sign of impact. Not a deal breaker in my case and virtually invisible. Firmware update is available and installed easily. Preset editor utility is handy and intuitive. As I knew going in, no pedals or AC adapter are included. Didn't try the software because I have my own. Heavy, 38lbs., and given its weight and lack of onboard sounds, it wouldn't be my first choice for a gigging keyboard. It's more like a digital piano, and if I could make a suggestion to M-Audio, I would like a dedicated digital piano-style stand with integrated pedal option.

[1x USB-B ] I was looking for a simple and solid USB-powered MIDI keyboard controller to work with Pro Tools and SampleTank that has good action and doesn't feel like a toy. The M-Audio Keystation 61 is exactly that. The semi-weighted keys feel almost like a real piano, the design is sleek and ergonomic, as a string player with little piano chops, I feel comfortable getting around on this keyboard and not hitting lots of accidental notes that I would on a synth action keyboard. I also like that it doesn't require a driver, so hopefully will work through many future OS upgrades.

[Monochrome LCD] Bought this for my daughter, who has played for 5-6 years, and been doing composition for a couple of years. Great keyboard for her. She likes how the keyboard feels. She got started using the keyboard right away, and enjoyed it a lot.

[Monochrome LCD] The Hammer 88 is a no frills MIDI controller with a nice weighted action. Construction seems solid. A pretty good buy for the price.
