The 24" long IndiPRO Tools D-Tap to LP-E17 Type Dummy Battery enables powering a camera or other device normally powered by an LP-E17 battery with a D-Tap power source, such as a V-mount or Gold mount battery, for extended runtimes. The dummy battery fits into your camera's or device's battery compartment/slot, and it has a built-in emulator chip that communicates with the camera, providing the necessary information for the camera to accept power from the dummy battery.

[24" / 60.96 cm] I didn't realize how much use I would get out of these cables. I mainly use them to power some of our SmallHD monitors either from the D-Tap port on the Ronin or out of our IndiPRO battery plates on our cameras. I also recently started using it with my Canon 5D Mark III while shooting timelapses. I don't have a plate specifically for the 5D, but I borrow a different plate and use this cable to keep the camera powered for 10+ hour timelapses 5

[24" / 60.96 cm] Well maybe not endless, but it sure is nice to run my camera from a v-mount battery for hours at a time. My only hiccup is where to put the regulator box (in the middle of the cable). When I wind the excess cable around my camera rig, the regulator box is always in a precarious spot. Not a big issue of course. First world problem:) The power upgrade outweighs the box issue:) 5

[3.17 oz / 90 g] I felt it was my duty to write a review as this item had none and I was a bit hesitant to buy based on previous experiences. Bought two of these and use them inside my XT3 and XT30 cameras shooting video for hours at a time. No issues whatsoever. Cable is a little long (even when using it rigged up) but that's better than it being short and being a limiting factor. 5

[3.17 oz / 90 g] I was dummy enough to not knowing you have to successfully close the battery door in order to use the dummy battery. I even requested a refund lol and didn’t notice the little sticker on the adapter. This item is perfect especially I own two 95 v mount batteries. I can now shoot all day. 5

[24" / 60.96 cm] I have two of these - one for Canon body, one for Blackmagic Micro Cinema Camera. When the cameras are powered from a 98 WH IDX battery with D-taps, I can run the cameras literally all-day without worrying when the battery needs to be changed. So far everything works perfectly - no problems with fit, no problems with function. Nothing gets hot. Very happy with these adapters. 5
