This 6.6 x 6.6" Tiffen ND Filter 6.6"x6.6" 3.3-Stopis a solid neutral density filter providing a 3.3-stop exposure reduction. This 1.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By increasing your aperture or slowing your exposure time, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch. This filter measures 6.6 x 6.6" / 167.6 x 167.6mm.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this filter with original lens shades? EF 70-200 2.8 & EF 24-105 for example.

A: Yes. The Tiffen 77mm ND 1.2 Filter does not interfere with the use of the manufacturer's lens hood.

Q: 2. Anyone know the weight of this filter in Grams?

A: 13.3 grams. I use it on my DJI X5 camera with the Olympus 12mm lens, and it balances perfectly. But I want a lighter .9 ND to use with my Olympus 25mm and the Sun shade.

Q: 3. it is good for rf 35mm len?

A: If you have the Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 IS Macro STM Lens, it does accept a 52mm filter. That being said, this Tiffen filter is compatible.

Q: 4. How thick is the glass?

A: its fair enoght to be strong i think its may be about 2mm or may be more

Q: 5. I would like to use this with sony sel24f11.4gm can i still use lens hood with this attached e.g whats total diameter?

A: This filter will be no wider than your lens is. You should have no issue attaching a lens hood via bayonet or screw in methods.

Q: 6. Will this filter (Tiffin 4x4 1.6 ND) fit in a Cokin holder? Buyers say it won't fit in a Lee holder and Specs don't list thikness dimensions.

A: The filter is 4mm thick. Lee filters makes filter guides that are 4mm thick. The foundation kit does not supply that guide. The link for that guide is a href= http://bhpho.to/1iXS5y5. target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1iXS5y5./a

Q: 7. Hi!Can the 0.9 and 0.6 Tiffen ND filters be stacked with the B+W ND filters and circular polarizer filters?Additionally, since this Tiffen filter does not have any form of coating on it, what are the effects of that?Thank you!

A: As long as the B+W filters in question have 52mm filter threads on the front of the filter, you would ba able to attach the Tiffen 52mm 0.6 Neutral Density Filter and the Tiffen 52mm 0.9 Neutral Density Filter to the front of the filter. The main issue that may arise from the filter not having coatings would be the chance of obtaining more internal flare or glare from using the filter. However, as such, I would recommend using your lens hood to reduce the occurrence of glare or flare.

Q: 8. Other than having a vignette problem can I stack three of these 3-stop ND filters to achieve 9 stops down? The Big Stopper system is $200, I don't want to pay that, which gives 10 stop reduction. Or do you carry a ND 10 stop filter for $50 or so? Thanks

A: That is correct. While it would certainly create some vignetting, stacking 3 of the 0.9 filters will give you 9 stops of light reduction. If you wanted to use just one filter, you might consider a variable ND:http://bhpho.to/1cCfMcVThis will allow you to adjust the ND effect, while maintaining a relatively slim profile.

Q: 9. Is this filter multi coated?

A: This filter is not multi coated. If you wish to puchase a 77mm Tiffen multi coated ND .6 please visit the link below:a href= https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/533249-REG/Tiffen_77HTND6_77mm_Digital_HT_High.html target= _blank https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/533249-REG/Tiffen_77HTND6_77mm_Digital_HT_High.html/a

Q: 10. Will this filter fit the Canon 70-200 lens?

A: This filter will fit the f2.8 version of the 70-200 but is too big for the f4 version of the 70-200 lens.

[0.9 lb] It is what you would expect from a great trustwhorthy brand. The filter is color accurate cutting down 4 stops of light with a minimal tint shift. Great to pair it with the Tiffen Ultra Polarizer to get right exposure and blue skies in exterior situations. I highly reccommend this filter.

[0.9 lb] I think 3 stops is a good middle ground.
I use this with a lower range VND. Cheap way to get more range.

[0.9 lb] Didn't want to go too dark for outdoor shooting. Knocks the light down enough that I didn't have to fully close my lens and still get some nice bokeh.
