The bright white Shure R184 Supercardioid Cartridge for Microflex Seriesis a supercardioid microphone cartridge for Microflex-series lavalier, boundary, gooseneck, and overhead microphones equipped with an interchangeable cartridge. The modular design of the Microflex series means you can simply unscrew the mic element and swap it out for another one, giving you a wide choice of pick-up pattern options.

The R184 cartridge features a supercardioid polar pattern that focuses audio capture on the talent in a tight 115° pick-up angle in front of the mic capsule. This pattern picks up substantially less background sound, helping to keep feedback problems under control when using monitors and sound-reinforcement gear and ensures clear, intelligible speech.

A: The mic (or multiple mics) will need to be connected to a mixer, amplifier or powered speaker and the volume of each mic can be regulated by adjusting the volume control for the individual input or input channel that it is connected to.

Q: 4. Hey guys, is this product the right one to get if I plan on using with a SD 633 mixer which can supply 48V phantom? It's confusing to know whether I need this or the more expensive $1900 mic. How does it compare with Senn 8060 or MKH 50? Is this mic no good in humid conditions or with possible RF interference?

A: Thank you for your Question. If humidity and RF are a big concern i would highly recommend sticking with the 8060. The Schoeps is great but it does not have built in protections again humidity or RF interference.

A: Hi Jonathan, Sorry for the confusion. Yes, it is a regular/standard size rack. The length of this case from plastic to plastic end is 23 . The standard 19 rack goes against this dim so you have 2 of space on each side for protection. The width/depth of this case is 17 which goes against the 13 depth of the rack providing 2 of space on either side for knobs and dials sticking out as well as protection from impact. Thank you,Will

A: TheCMC 6U is the a CMC 6 preamplifier that operates with phantom power. There are other CMC 6 models of this preamp that can operate with batteries or connect to wireless systems.

[Supercardioid] I got this Lav to use with my Zoom H4n and it sounds great. Really picks up sound. So much that I have to turn the recording level down from the previous mic I was using. This is great as it gives me more range to work with. 5

[Supercardioid] I vertically mounted this mic on a wall in a medical treatment classroom. It was to be used to hear conversation and responses by an observer in an adjoining area. I needed something unobtrusive and with enough sensitivity to provide clear audio, but without too much ambient noise. The MX391 is small, and the white color helps it to become almost invisible on the wall. Being mounted above the heads of the students and staff, the cardioid pickup pattern works great and helps to reject sound reflection from the ceiling. I had to build a TA4M extension cable in order to reach a wall mounted I/O plate, and another TA4F cable to reach the preamp, which I mounted beneath a countertop at the audio mixer in the adjoining room, but everything worked well. I've been using Shure products for many years, and they have never let me down. 5

[0.14 lb] This is a great wired lavalier mic. It has great sound and comes with several connection clips and wind screens. I highly recommend this mike for interviews and just about any application where your subject is not in a lot of motion. 5

[Supercardioid] Used this mic for video taping a group discussion. The mic picked up all participants perfectly. Sound quality was excellent. The fall off range is about 6 feet but still usable from longer distances. 5

[Supercardioid] I use these with the Shure MX-4xx and SM99 series microphones. A simple yet elegant solution to clean up the look of head table microphones. The microphone just plugs into this weighted based. There is about 7' of cable terminated with an XLR male that extends from this base. 5

[0.14 lb] Worked perfectly for focus group interviews with about 12 participants spread throughout the room. Extra long cord allows you to place mic where you need it, while small size is very unobtrusive. Would buy again. 5
