USB 3.2 Gen 1 features a maximum throughput of 5 Gb/s and is synonymous with USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.0.

The OWC USB-C Travel Dock E reduces adapter and dongle heft and hassle while expanding your connectivity options. Connect peripherals via USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, HDMI 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, and USB-C power pass-through ports. Furthermore, you can access SD memory cards using the card reader slot. Through its integrated USB-C connecting cable, the diminutive Travel Dock E lets you transform a studio, classroom, boardroom, or coffee shop into your mobile office with the ability to connect, charge, display, and import with a USB Tpe-C or Thunderbolt 3-equipped computer, tablet, or phone.

Nothing can quash productivity faster than slow, low-quality Wi-Fi. With its Gigabit Ethernet port with industry standard RJ-45 connector, you can plug in the Travel Dock E anywhere for a speedy server connection, uninterrupted downloads, and reliable file transfers.

Similar to the size and weight of a hockey puck, this compact dock can be used via bus power when you don't have access to a power outlet. Or, connect an optional USB Type-C power adapter to the Travel Dock E's USB Type-C power delivery port to charge your device with up to 92W of power.

Use the optional OWC Dock Ejector software to safely disconnect drives connected to the OWC USB-C Travel Dock E in a single click. Designed by OWC hardware and software engineers, Dock Ejector ensures all data is written before disconnection, saving time and protecting against data loss. Use it to move quickly between workstations and get the most out of your OWC USB-C Travel Dock E. Dock Ejector is available via free download from OWC.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the 15" Surface Book 2?

A: Yes, the CalDigit USB Type-C Pro Dock (Space Gray) BH #CATHBLTPRDCK is compatible with the Surface Book 2. Keep in mind that however because the Surface Book 2 has a USB Type C 3.1 Gen 1 port limited to 5Gbps and a single displayport lane, you will be limited to 1 x 4K display or 2 x full HD displays.

Q: 2. How many external monitor can be connected to the dock?

A: 2

Q: 3. Is this compatible with dual monitor support for m1 MacBook pro?

A: Yes, the CalDigit USB Type-C Pro Dock fully supports a dual screen setup on an M1 platform.

Q: 4. Will this support (power) an apple super drive from any of it type A connectors? (Intend for use with an M1 macbook pro)

A: Hi, the question is really about supplying enough power to the apple super driver, which is a DVD reader/writer. The drive will work on my 2017 macbook pro if I use a straight (not smart, not active) USB-C - USB-A adapter plugged directly into one of the 4 thunderbolt ports, but will not work with the cal-digit dongle, for example. With the M1 Macbooks I only get two ports; if I use one to power the laptop, and plug the drive+adaptor, that leaves *NO* ports for anything else.

Q: 5. Does this work on a 2015 MacBook Pro?

A: No, the MacBook pro 2015 model only contains the thunderbolt 2 connection. An adaptor would be required.

Q: 6. Can I connect Dual 4K monitors @60Hz from the new Mac mini M1 via this dock?

A: Yes, that can work if both monitors are using Displayport..

Q: 7. Will this safely charge a 2019 16" MacBook Pro? The MBP 16" charger is 96w, this is 85w and I am concerned about damage.

A: There won't be any damage, it will simply charge a bit slower.

Q: 8. Is it Steam Deck compatible?

A: Yes, this dock can be used to connect a computer to the Elgato Stream Deck.

Q: 9. Does this dock support dual-screen extending on MacOS, or only mirroring?

A: You are able to extend it to two additional monitors. Not only mirror but extension as well.

Q: 10. Will this provide a charge to a Macbook while in use? Or do I still need to plug in using the wall charger in a separate port?

A: This dock will provide up to 85 watt of power over Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C that will charge the Macbook Pro.

[Metal, Aluminum] This dock I got met and exceeded my expectations. Works perfectly with my 2020 intel MacBook Pro. No issues with randomly hibernating or other unknown anomalies I had experience with other thunderbolt three and four docks. Plus this is space grey if colour is important to your setup. Lastly the shipping to Canada is fast and worry free.

[1x HDMI 2.0] Having recently revised my photographic workflow, purchased a new EIZO monitor, expanded my printing abilities, I needed to add more ports and access to me MacMini. After a detail search and review I selected the OWC product and I am very statisfied with the product. Of course the support and ordering process at B&H is the highest in the business.

[4.4 x 4.4 x 2"] This is a great dock - it’s fast and no issues at all.

I replaced an old dock (from a different company) that kept disconnecting And causing issues with my display and hard drives. Very happy I got this dock instead.

I was up an running in minutes. Would recommend.

[4.4 x 4.4 x 2"] Great so far! Really nice to have 5 USB A 3.0 ports on the back, headphone (with mic!) on the front is great for the ubiquitous zoom calls of today. Using it via thunderbolt2 adapter with no issues. Should future proof a bit for when I eventually upgrade to desktop machine with USB C

[1x HDMI 2.0] I'm using this dock with a M1 Macbook Air . The machine only have two TB/USB ports, so for using the machine is esencial to be able to connect the things that you ususally need.
This dock just work, with the ports that I need. What else can you ask for?

[0.495 lb] A must-have if you're using a macbook, especially an M1 with only 2 native ports. I have this running my monitor, two external HD's, 2 card readers, an iProfiler, a wacom tablet and I'm running power to the laptop all with this dock. It's brilliant. One cable from the laptop to the dock is handling all of this.

[4.4 x 4.4 x 2"] I have purchased 2 the docks for my 16 Mac Book Pro and this is the only one that does it all. I had been using two others to do all the connections this one does all and it supplies power too!
