Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I purchase a 72mm filter and use that one filter on both a 72mm lens and a 46mm lens with the 46-72mm step-up ring?

A: Yes, that's exactly what it's for.

Q: 2. Hey there! Can you stack rings to put 82mm filters on a 58mm diameter lens? Thanks;)

A: Yes these step up rings are stackable if the female-male diameters match.

Q: 3. Will this fit canon lenses for a 5D mark ii camera?

A: This kit will fit any lenses and filter you want to use on the 5d mk ii.

Q: 4. If I flip this around can I use it as a step-down ring? I know I'll have to deal with vignetting (well, maybe not technically vignetting, but overlap into the image area), but will it work until I can get the correct size filters? Or are the threads threaded in such a way that it can only screw on to the lens on one side and the filter on the other and cannot be flipped?

A: No, this can only be used as a step up ring.

Q: 5. Could this be used on a Sirui 60mm portrait lens for smartphone?

A: No, that step-up ring will not fit. The Sirui 60mm Portrait Lens does not have threads to screw into.

Q: 6. If I have a camera with a 30mm lens, and a 37mm fisheye, do I need a step up or step down ring?

A: If your filter/attachment is larger than your lens, it's a step-up. In this case, your fisheye attachment is 37mm and your lens' front diameter is 30mm, hence, you'd need a step-up ring.

Q: 7. What is the outer dimension of this step up ring?

A: The outer diameter on the Sensei 82-95mm Aluminum Step-Up Ring is 98mm.

Q: 8. Would this work with tiffen Nds?

A: Yes, it's meant for any circular filters with 82mm diameter.

Q: 9. What lens cap do i need to fit this ring?

A: This is a step up ring to fit a larger filter into smaller diameter lens. So to answer your question the lens cup will need to be 77mm.

Q: 10. Can I double up two step-up, 43-58mm and 58-67mm, adaptors to put 67mm filter on a 43mm filter thread lens?

A: Yes. I do that with my larger filters so I don't have to buy every size to fit all my all my lenses. I do try to make sure I don't block any sensors that are on the front of the camera.

[58 to 72 mm] Glad it arrived soon than expected being backordered. Saves me the cost of buying different ND filter for my Lumix. Goes on and comes off easy. Very happy with it.

[0.03 lb] I bought this step-up ring NOT to mount a 49mm filter on a 46mm lens. I bought this because I have a Leica Summicron 28mm lens and the Leica lens hood is way too big for this lens. A large portion of the viewfinder is blocked by the Leica lens hood. This step-up ring has just enough added height to serve as a lens hood except under the brightest glare. This step-up ring is metal and well constructed and fits the front of my lens perfectly.

[Screw] As with all B+W products I've experienced, this product is build to the highest standards. Everything you expect in a step-up ring.

[Screw] Best construction cost money and it is worth it. This is much better than the aluminum ones.

[58 to 72 mm] I've used a wide variety of step-up rings over the decades. This one is smoother and stronger than the cheaper ones I have used so I recommend it without reservation.

[0.03 lb] I use this on my Mamiya 645 80mm 2:8 as I have 62mm B&W 10 stop and 3 stop ND filters. It works perfectly...the filters screw in effortlessly. This is exactly why I buy B&W products. When I am shooting in the field, I do not want anything less.
