Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will the RRS TA-4-LB Leveling Base fit on an FLM CP38-L4 II tripod (this tripod has a 100mm bowl head area?)

A: According to RRS, the TA-4-LB fits on most standard 100mm diameter bowl tripods. The one thing I would caution is that the low-profile knob sits very close to the apex/spider of the tripod and it might be hard to operate in certain situations depending on how your tripod is set up/situated.

Q: 2. will this let me connect my rode wireless go II into XLR connections on a mixer to input mics? Fully supported and safe?

A: Yes, the Cable Techniques 3.5mm TRS Right Angle to Two 3-Pin XLR Male Tape Output Y-Cable Adapter for Sound Devices should support the output signal from the receiver in the Rode Wireless GO II System and allow the isolated output of each receiver channel into separate XLR mixer inputs.

Q: 3. Does the locking ring prevent it being used on something like RODE Wireless Pro/Go or VideoMic Go?

A: Correct. The Deity Microphones RX-Link Locking Right Angle 3.5mm TRS Male to Right-Angle XLR Male Cable is not compatible with non-locking 3.5mm TRS connections.

Q: 4. This says wired for Sennheiser. Shouldn't this be compatible with any and all outputs? I have a Sony UWP (URX-P41D) receiver.

A: Sennheiser and Sony use the same locking mechanisms, but the internal wiring is different. So, the Cable Techniques Right-Angle Locking 3.5mm TRS to 3.5mm TRS Coiled Cable for Sennheiser should not be used with the Sony URX-P41D Wireless Receiver.

Q: 5. Will this thread to a sony wireless receiver?

A: This cable will connect to a Sony receivers threaded connector as well.

Q: 6. When plugged into a MixPre 3 II will I still be able to close the sides of my Stingray bag?

A: If you have a little bit of space between the end of the MixPre 3 II and the end of your bag, then you will be able to use the Sennheiser CL 35-XLR Right-Angle Locking 3.5mm TRS to XLR Male Coiled Output Cable without any problems.

Q: 7. I'm buying this to connect a Zoom F8n Pro to a SmallRig L-Series/NP-F Battery Adapter Plate (Professional Edition) BH #SMMPFBAPPE MFR #3168. Will this work? My battery is Sony brand infoLithium NP-F970.

A: Yes, the CAMVATE DC 2.5mm to 4-Pin Male Right-Angle Power Cable for Sound Devices and Zoom Field Recorders should work with the SmallRig L-Series/NP-F Battery Adapter Plate's 12V (DC 5525 - 2.5mm) DC output connection to power the Zoom F8n Pro via Hirose connection.

Q: 8. Does this work with Sennehiser wireless receivers?

A: Yes it does

Q: 9. Will this fit into a Manfrotto 536 tripod?

A: Yes, it will fit the Manfrotto 536 tripod.

Q: 10. Can anyone tell me how long the actual cable is?

A: The Deity Microphones RX-Link Locking Right Angle 3.5mm TRS Male to Right-Angle XLR Male Cable is 40cm (15.75 in) long.

[0.7 oz / 19.8 g] Most 4 pin XLR plugs are much to big and stick out too far. This one is low profile and doesn't stick out much. (Switchcraft make a 3pin XLR plug that is even shorter but not in 4pin.)
Overall the item is great and works well for me.

[0.7 oz / 19.8 g] I was wondering why this cable is so expensive, but I changed my mind once I held it. It inspires confidence for heavy duty use... will be coming back for more...

[0.055 lb] I like having these to build new cables.

[0.7 oz / 19.8 g] I needed to be able to plug in the battery charger from the rear of the scooter as opposed to the less accessible front. Metal Right Angle XLR connectors did not work, but this one was exactly what was needed for the application.

[Gold] High-quality metal assembly. I didn't realize these were metal when I ordered them, so I was pleasantly surprised. They're about as compact as you can get, so if you're putting together something for a small recorder (like the Zoom F3 or any device with closely-spaced XLRs), they're a good choice.

The end caps secure with two set screws. If you're building some kind of custom assembly, you can discard the end caps and secure your assembly into the barrel by shaping it (or 3-D printing it) to fit in the barrel and be gripped by the screws.

The one concern I'd have is that the exit hole for a cable (which is a notch in the edge of the end cap, so it comes out sideways), is quite small. You couldn't fit a typical XLR cable through it. Pic attached.

Final note: When you open the ziploc these things come in, be careful: The tiny set screws are loose in there, and if they fall out, you WILL lose them.

[Gold] I used this connector to make a low-profile power plug for my new Canon C400. Ability to rotate the input of the cable into the plug 360º is super useful. It allowed me to shortest cable from the V-mount plate to the XLR power input on the camera (see picture).

[0.055 lb] They work great for a mic on a camera or a sound recorder. I have used these on both. The only issue, and it is minor, is the cord is so thin that the cord holder on the mic is too large. It also locks in very securely. Wish I bought this years ago.

[0.055 lb] This is a great niche item. I paid for this instead of a cheaper solution because there is nothing really in the market that compares to this. Audio quality is amazing and build quality is top notch. The only con its just expensive but that's what you pay for a specialty piece.
