Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can it be installed on Gitzo GT5543XLS? I have RRS TVC-34L too, so would like to confirm it does be compatible with both tripods.

A: Yes, it will fit by also purchasing the Gitzo bowl adapter, click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2URe16d

Q: 2. Does this take the left and right channels from the 3.5mm source and send each separately to the XLR connectors, so that one of the XLRs will be the left channel and the other the right channel?

A: Correct - the left and right stereo signals are split.

Q: 3. Is this compatible with the Gitzo 3543XLS tripod?

A: Yes, the Really Right Stuff TA-3 works with the Gitzo GT3543XLS.

Q: 4. will this let me connect my rode wireless go II into XLR connections on a mixer to input mics? Fully supported and safe?

A: Yes, the Cable Techniques 3.5mm TRS Right Angle to Two 3-Pin XLR Male Tape Output Y-Cable Adapter for Sound Devices should support the output signal from the receiver in the Rode Wireless GO II System and allow the isolated output of each receiver channel into separate XLR mixer inputs.

Q: 5. Can this be used with the ProMediaGear TR344L?

A: The TA-3 Leveling base will work with the ProMediaGear TR344L as long as you get this item with it. https://bhpho.to/3k2FrDi

Q: 6. Can the TA-3 Leveling Base w/ Low Profile Knob and Lever Release clamp fit onto the TVC-24L Series 2 Carbon Fiber Tripod?

A: Sorry no. You need either a RRS Versa tripod (https://bhpho.to/2KgSNqR) or a 3rd party 75mm bowl tripod. On the other hand you could use this Really Right Stuff Universal Leveling Base with Platform B&H # RETULBLEVELN with the TVC-24L Series 2 Carbon Fiber Tripod.

Q: 7. can you install the hook from the longer versions Really Right Stuff TA-3 long onto this one?

A: Unfortunately there is no option to attach a hook to the Really Right Stuff TA-3 Leveling Base with Low-Profile Knob and Platform with 3/8"-16 Stud.

Q: 8. Does the locking ring prevent it being used on something like RODE Wireless Pro/Go or VideoMic Go?

A: Correct. The Deity Microphones RX-Link Locking Right Angle 3.5mm TRS Male to Right-Angle XLR Male Cable is not compatible with non-locking 3.5mm TRS connections.

Q: 9. Will this fit into a Manfrotto 536 tripod?

A: Yes, it will fit the Manfrotto 536 tripod.

Q: 10. Can this be used to go from the XLR outputs on a mixer board to the rode wireless go 2 TX unit inputs

A: I'm sorry, but the Cable Techniques 3.5mm TRS Right Angle to Two 3-Pin XLR Male Tape Output Y-Cable Adapter that you asked about would not allow you to output from a mixer into a wireless transmitter. Most mixers will have XLR male outputs, so you will need female XLR connectors on the cable. Additionally, the Rode Wireless Go II transmitter will only accept input from a mic level source. The cable that I am linking below has the correct gendered connectors, and also has a built in attenuator to lower line level to mic, so that you can successfully send the stereo line signal into the transmitter: https://bhpho.to/3IdRNCf

[Gold] It's easy to make and put everything together. XLR connector rotates 360 degrees with tiny moves for more precise angle position. In addition, connector has a locking clamp to protect from pulling or twisting when the cable is made.

[0.7 oz / 19.8 g] High-quality metal assembly. I didn't realize these were metal when I ordered them, so I was pleasantly surprised. They're about as compact as you can get, so if you're putting together something for a small recorder (like the Zoom F3 or any device with closely-spaced XLRs), they're a good choice.

The end caps secure with two set screws. If you're building some kind of custom assembly, you can discard the end caps and secure your assembly into the barrel by shaping it (or 3-D printing it) to fit in the barrel and be gripped by the screws.

The one concern I'd have is that the exit hole for a cable (which is a notch in the edge of the end cap, so it comes out sideways), is quite small. You couldn't fit a typical XLR cable through it. Pic attached.

Final note: When you open the ziploc these things come in, be careful: The tiny set screws are loose in there, and if they fall out, you WILL lose them.

[0.055 lb] I use this to plug my microphones into a MOTU UltraLite Mk5. The mic connectors in the front are the only thing I don't like about it, it makes a mess on my desk. This connector helps a lot to run the cable so it doesn't take up much space in front of the interface at all.

[0.7 oz / 19.8 g] 4 pin XLRs are not so common (compared to 3pin) so it's nice that someone is making a low profile one.

Item is solidly built and works well.

[0.055 lb] I had some challenges getting my mic cable plugged into the XLR fitting on the back of my new Boss rc-500 looper pedal on a tight pedalboard. For best access to the looper pedal while performing, I need to have the rc-500 in the 'front row', and that makes all straight xlr plugs, as well as most right angled plugs impossible to fit. I just soldered this onto a good mic cable, and it lines-up pins & holes, just as I need it to.
