Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this lens support infinity focus?

A: As long as the Nikon F-mount lens you own supports infinity focus, yes, the Urth Manual Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F-Mount Lens to Leica L-Mount Camera Body would allow infinity focus when used with your Nikon lens.

Q: 2. Does this lens autofocus Nikon AF-S lenses?

A: This lens adapter is designed for Leica Lenses and does not allow for auto-focus.

Q: 3. Will this work with Panasonic S5?

A: Yes, this adapter is compatible with the S5.

Q: 4. Is this compatible with a Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro Photo Lens onto a Nikon Z9?

A: The Urth Electronic Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Nikon Z Camera Body is designed to mount on to any Nikon Z cameras, like the Nikon Z9 Mirrorless Camera (B&H # NIZ9). The adapter is compatible with the Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro Photo Lens (B&H # CA6528MP).

Q: 5. How does one control the aperture setting of the EF/EF-S lens, when using this adapter?

A: Unfortunately, the aperture on the Canon EF/EF-S Lens would be at the largest setting by default as the Urth Manual Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF/EF-S-Mount Lens to Leica M-Mount Camera Body would not allow for any control over it.

Q: 6. When I lock the Urth converter into the opening on my Leica M10, I get a "no lens attached" message after I screw in a M39 lens???

A: The Urth M39-Mount Lens Adapter to Leica M-Mount Camera with 50-70 Frame Lines does not have any electronic communication with the Leica M10 Rangefinder Camera, and so the camera will not recognize that a lens is mounted. This is perfectly normal behavior.

Q: 7. Weight?

A: The weight of the Urth Manual Lens Mount Adapter for Nikon F Lens to Nikon Z-Mount Camera Body is 0.35lbs.

Q: 8. Will this work with Leica CL? The Sigma MC-21 adapter, for example, will work with Leica SL but not with the CL, hence I wanted to check if this one will work with Leica CL

A: While it is possible that this adapter can work on a Leica CL, it has not been tested together. Your results may vary.

Q: 9. What is the difference between a Nikon F mount and a G-type mount?

A: If you see a letter “G” after aperture in the lens, for example “Nikon 50mm AF-S f/1.4G”, it means that the lens does not have an aperture ring like the old lenses. The F Mount bayonet flange is commonly used for full format sensor made for pro body models.

Q: 10. Is this compatible with Rokinon Lenses? Or is there a list of compatible lenses available somewhere?

A: The Urth Electronic Lens Mount Adapter for Canon EF/EF-S Lens to Nikon Z Camera Body is compatible with any lens that has a Canon EF or EF-S lens mount. This is the current compatibility list: https://bhpho.to/45v6YTL

[0.29 lb] At the time of purchasing this product (and as I write this) there was only one review (which gave it 1 star). I feel somewhat compelled to balance that out. I'm using it with two older f-mount lenses (Nikon & Tamron) and they both work great! They fit incredibly well with a solid connection and I have no complaints whatsoever with this product. It does it exactly what it's supposed to do, and it seems to be made to last. Enjoy!

[Aluminum] Very nicely made adapter with proper fit to Leica SL series cameras. I purchased this to connect my SL2-S to an astronomical telescope focuser using a 2 nosepiece. What I learned upon receipt is the difference between M2 (1.0mm thread pitch) and T2 (.75mm thread pitch)... most astronomical fittings are T2 and will not attach properly to M42 without an M2-T2 adapter. These exist but are not easy to find. Fortunately I did source one and the adapter now works perfectly for my intended use.

[0.29 lb] Got this to adapt my collection of Takumar lenses for my new S1H. This adapter feels perfectly sturdy and does what it was designed to do. Extra meaningful because it let me adapt lenses left from my late grandfather. Definitely the adapter to get for Leica L-mount cameras.

[Leica M] the unit is nicely made and the lens appears to lock up firmly.

unfortunately the infinity focus is off w/ some lenses.

it may be the case that the lenses i'm using are the problem

[0.29 lb] This is an excellent adapter. Very solid and well built and fits tightly... no wobbles of any sort.

2 errors from Urth on this adapter though: I have added photos highlighting this

1. On the Nikon Z teleconverter mount, there is a small notch in the adapter ring which is absent on the back side of the Urth adapter.

Therefore if you intend to use this adapter with Nikon Z teleconverter and Nikon F lens (Nikon's FTZ adapter cannot be used because the adapter hole does not allow the Z teleconverter protruding element to pass through); so if you intend to use this adapter with Z teleconverter, you will have to grind out the notch either in the teleconverter mount ring (not recommended) or grind a notch into the back side of the Urth adapter... recommended as it costs only 39$.

2. Additionally, Urth has unnecessarily put a very small screw on the back side of the adapter which also prevents it from screwing into the Nikon Z mount. We need to remove this screw as well.

Urth needs to made these 2 updates to their future adapter manufacturing runs.

I am now able to successfully use a Nikon Z camera plus Nikon Z teleconverter + Urth adapter and Nikon F lens in manual focus mode.

[Leica M] The Nikon F to Canon RF works if you have a lens with manual aperture adjustment. I bought it for the Zeiss Milvus 15mm lens and it works fine with it.

[Leica M] I find these much more convenient than the plastic, spring loaded caps. they are a lot more expensive, but worth it in my estimation. I also use K&F concepts magnetic caps.
