design for my Blackmagic 4k camera! Love that wood finish on the handle! And
what a cool idea to add that lock protector for hdmi cables! Now they stay in
place! More than satisfied!

[2.095 lb] I finally built my proper cinema rig, and this camera cage is the perfect addition to it. The cage is extremely sturdy with no flex at all, and it has a ton of mounting options for extra gear. I love that the carry handle comes with a recording start/stop button, and that it also has a bubble level, magnetically held tools in the baseplate and a sensor plane mark/screw. The cage also has the support strut on the left of the lens rather than the right, so I can use my Meike EFTR-CL drop in filter adapter without issue, unlike with other cages. This cage costs more than the smallrig and tilta options, but it is worth the premium for those features. Also it just looks super cool!

[Aluminum] I love this cage. Been looking for a cage that would provide me a quick conversion from shooting video to shooting photos. I can go straight from the tripod and just pull the camera out to go hand held with no cage but still maintain the arca Swiss plate to put it on my gimbal then slide back into the cage where it can be in the full right, pop it off the rails with the cage for handheld mode in a snap with a quick release. just overall a great flexible system. Good job Kondor Blue!

[2.095 lb] Reviewed a number of difference half-cage solutions and in the end, chose 8SINN. The design and build quality is the best. Could not be happier. 8SINN charges a premium, but totally worth it.

[2.095 lb] Very sturdy, since it's one solid piece unlike other options. Easy to mount, and precisely threaded. I bought the 6K Pro cage from Kondor Blue, but ended up returning that and bought this. It is so much better. In buying this, you'll also be supporting a US based company--although they're owned by Vitec--that truly innovates in this space and doesn't just copy what works.

It's also the only one that give doesn't block the left side of the body, so you can use any VND adapter like the Meike, KipperTie Revolva or Breakthrough.

Super easy to assemble and the top handle with the record/stop button is a must for any serious video shooter.

Worth every penny.

[Aluminum] I was using another name brand top plate - well made, but it blocked some controls. The Kondor system is very well planned to add function without limiting access. I typically use an external monitor and a shotgun mic, or a wireless mic...sometimes both. This system gives me better mounting points. The only negative is that the HDMI protector was too narrow to allow any of my cables to connect. I will just do without that u til the time is right to replace a cable.

[Aluminum] Solid build, intuitive design, and worth every penny.  

At first glance it seems a little expensive for a piece of machined metal.  I put my BMD P4k in and was wowed by it having attachment points on both the top and bottom.  You could realistically swing this around in circles with your arm at full strength and it would still feel solid.

When I hold it from the top handle with a LUMIX 18-35 on the camera its well balanced.  Between the IOS in the lens and the precision balance of the cage, handheld shooting is about as smooth as it gets. 

It also solves the problem of needing an extra QR plate to offset it for use on a gimbal (the camera doesnt fit on most of the popular single handle gimbals because of the wide form factor).  I take the top handle off when I mount it on a Moza Air and it works great.

This is definitely a piece of gear that is worth the seemingly steep price.  I will not need another cage for this camera for the duration of its life.
