[Aluminum, Steel] Very sturdy, since it's one solid piece unlike other options. Easy to mount, and precisely threaded. I bought the 6K Pro cage from Kondor Blue, but ended up returning that and bought this. It is so much better. In buying this, you'll also be supporting a US based company--although they're owned by Vitec--that truly innovates in this space and doesn't just copy what works.

It's also the only one that give doesn't block the left side of the body, so you can use any VND adapter like the Meike, KipperTie Revolva or Breakthrough.

Super easy to assemble and the top handle with the record/stop button is a must for any serious video shooter.

Worth every penny.

[1.57 lb] This cafe has integrated into it a SSD hard drive space a perfect fir the the Samsung T5 SSD. And if you shoot interviews or hour plus content then the Samsung T5 is a must and so is this cage.

Nothing flops around and the cables are better hidden even for gimbal use

[Cage] This SmallRig Cage makes the Blackmagic Camera even more steady and easy to handle. It leaves perfectly fit spaces for cables etc and it has also a slot for and SDD that I used and I guess you're going to use too.

I was slanted toward Tilta, as I have a Tilta cage on my BMPCC 4K, but the built in SSD slot on the bottom REALLY sold me. I just love how it places my SSD in the rig virtually unnoticeably.

Note, I also got the top handle which is really great and easily removed to put the camera in my bag.

Any dislikes? The Smallrig Wooden logo on front is minor. However, I do not like that to lock the SSD into the cage you need to use a very small Allen key.

I wish the design could have used something tool-less or used the larger bolts everywhere else on the cage, as for that they have awesomely made a slot that magnetically keeps that larger Allen Key easily attached with an integragrated slot on the bottom of the frame.

[Cage] I finally built my proper cinema rig, and this camera cage is the perfect addition to it. The cage is extremely sturdy with no flex at all, and it has a ton of mounting options for extra gear. I love that the carry handle comes with a recording start/stop button, and that it also has a bubble level, magnetically held tools in the baseplate and a sensor plane mark/screw. The cage also has the support strut on the left of the lens rather than the right, so I can use my Meike EFTR-CL drop in filter adapter without issue, unlike with other cages. This cage costs more than the smallrig and tilta options, but it is worth the premium for those features. Also it just looks super cool!
