The Opticron 14x30 Imagic Image-Stabilized Binocularslet you enjoy high-power views of the world around you without having to use a tripod. Non-stabilized 14x30 binoculars would be difficult to use without a support system due to their high power, relatively small exit pupil, and the appearance of visible hand shake that binoculars 10x and over tend to suffer from. With image stabilization (IS) of ±3°, you'll see the details of far-off subjects without the hand shake that typically spoils the view—even when you're glassing from a moving boat or vehicle. A simple and intuitive toggle switch puts the IS control at your fingertip.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. why should I more for your latest product compared with the 12x36 IS 11 which is more powerful?

A: The 12x32 and older 12x36 have the same magnification, field of view, and eye relief. The big difference is the close focus, which is significantly improved on the 12x32. The 12x32 is 6.6 feet. The 12x36 IIs is 19.7 feet. I have the 12x36 IIs and it's annoying to find yourself too close to a bird to get a proper focus.

Q: 2. Two questions:Are there threads for adding filters to the objective lenses? Is there any rating for weather resistance at all?I'm concerned if they have to be kept completely dry and a gust of wind throwing a bit of rain on them may spell their doom. I don't see a fog proof mention either.

A: I can't see any threads for adding filters. The 10x30 is Weather Resistant (not All Weather ) - I think the 15x50 & 18x50 are All Weather, but you'd need to check.I've not had a problem using these in low intensity rain/showers, or with condensation (? your fog proof question) - I just wipe the binocs down to make sure no water runs into the grooves. Overall, these are great binocs & the IS provides opportunities to see things you otherwise might not, including in low light conditions.

Q: 3. does this have auto focus ?

A: No, it does not autofocus, however the depth of field is narrow so that within a distant image you can adjust the focus to a small area while the overall image is still quite focused. I really like this binocular, and use it almost daily. I live in a mountainous area and use it to focus on an opposing ridge to spot wild game movements. We see deer, bear, bobcats, and Cougars. I would recommend this product.

Q: 4. Are they made in China?

A: Country of Origin on this Binocular is Taiwan.

Q: 5. What size lens caps(recommendations welcome) are needed to cover the front and back of the binoculars?

A: The binoculars come with caps to cover the real lenses. I use Canon 58mm lens caps for the front.....E 58 II 58mm lens cap.

Q: 6. Is the Canon 10x32 IS II waterproof ?

A: The Canon 10x32 IS Image Stabilized Binoculars BH #CA10X32 • MFR #1372C002 is not fog or waterproof.. The only IS binoculars with similar features and price that is fog and waterproof is the Fujinon 14x40 TS1440 Techno-Stabi Image-Stabilized Binoculars BH #FUTS1440 • MFR #600017066 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/206833-USA/Fujinon_7511440_14x40_TS1440_Techno_Stabi_Image.html

Q: 7. There are many reviews that complain of decomposing rubber housings. Did Canon fix this issue?

A: I haven't heard of an issue like this in a very long time. I believe the Model has been updated since that issue has occurred. They offer a great Limited 3-Year Warranty that does cover against this kind of Defect.

Q: 8. What is the country of manufacture?

A: Made in Japan

Q: 9. What size is the Micro SD memory card?

A: This does not use a memory card

Q: 10. I have tried the 10x30s and I can focus them without my glasses for my very near sided eyes. Can I expec the same with the 12x36es?

A: They both has the same 14.5mm eye relief and +3 to -3 diopter so the focusing is the same.

[1.93 lb] We received these just in time for our trip to Yellowstone, and are so happy with them. The trip would not have been the same!

[Roof (BAK4)] I bought these for my wife for her birthday. These binoculars are terrific! The image stabilization technology works wonderfully. Regular binoculars allow a quick look, but with these, we can linger, search and more greatly appreciate the field of view; birdwatching is a pleasure.
One small thing that Canon needs to address: the plastic lens caps will fall off easily. So far we have been very lucky to find them on the ground or on the floor of the car. They will fall off if you shake the binoculars, and I cannot seem to improvise a fix using tapes etc.

[2x AAA] I bought these as a Christmas present mostly for my wife (thus the smaller version/lighter weight) because of the frustration I've observed with her use of lesser products.
She has never experienced the joy of large aperture, flat field, pro optics.
Combined with my decades-long experience with Canon's vari-angle prism I.S. tech and their follow-on technologies, I KNEW if purchasing something this expensive, I would do it from Canon.

I am not at all disappointed in this product:

If I were buying JUST for me, I would have gone with with one of their more expensive models with higher magnification AND a larger aperture primary lens.

Focus is crisp, easy, very flat across the field of view, and then when holding the IS button, the stabilization is so obvious and clean it makes me wonder if I need to see a doctor about hand tremors... ()

It was especially gratifying to watch my wife use them the first time and notice how easy it was to focus on objects of varying distances.
Then as a I told her to spot a more distant object, she was able to frame it, and describe the details to me. It was here where I introduced her to the IS capabilities by having her hold her view steady while letting me guide her finger to the stabilizer button. Her reaction was priceless...

I also bought (for me) a tripod mounting kit and a smartphone adapter for an eyepiece.

CANON SHOULD INCLUDE LENS CAPS, even if as an extra cost option. Depending on aftermarket parts for this critical piece is short-sighted {see what I did there?} at best.

[14x] I have used my Canon binoculars for a little over two months now. I agree with other reviewers that the eyecups should be reconsidered but if you roll down the eyecups there is no issue unless you need to wear glasses with the binoculars. With that said, I use the binoculars for birding and find that the details I now see due to stabilization far outweighs the eyecup issue. I have found bird identification has become much easier. I found that when I am tracking a bird in flight the normal IS setting works better than the powered IS setting. The powered IS setting is better for stationary objects. Overall these are the best binoculars I have ever owned and I am comparing them to high end birding binoculars.

[2.1 mm] Image stabilizing works wonderfully. Because of the stabilization, I can see more detail than with my Leica 8x32 Ultravids. It is like having the binoculars on a tripod. Although the image quality is not equal to the Leica, it is surprisingly comparable for such an inexpensive pair of binoculars. There is no rain guard provided, but I found the the rain guard for my Leica 8x32s fit perfectly.

[2.1 mm] I can't compare to other image stabilized binoculars, but I can easily count raindrops on a pond 500ft away holding this in one hand. Nothing else handheld has given this much detail. Good field of view, and forgiving gyro range. Battery life is extremely long even on a rechargeable AA.

Some that borrow report motion sickness, I recommend keeping viewing sessions short if that's something you're sensitive to, though this has never bothered me.

[15 mm] My wife has a very bad essential tremor and is an avid birdwatcher. Her tremor has gotten so bad that it is diffficult for her to hold her binoculars steady enough to identify or observe birds. I decided to get her these binoculars for Christmas. I am happy to say that she loves them and that they works as advertised. She can hold them very steady when the stabilization is activated. I was afraid that the quality might suffer because she uses a pair of $1200 Swarovski binoculars. But the quality is quite good. They are sharp with good contrast. She also like that they are lightweight and focus to around 7 feet, so she can also use them for butterflies. She wishes that the angle of view was a little wider, but other than that, they are perfect.
