Designed with the principals of "smaller, lighter, brighter, and sharper" in mind, the 45° angled viewing Opticron MM3 GA/45 15-45x60mm Travelscope Angled Viewingis built with fully multicoated optics and measures just about a foot in length.

The coatings ensure accurate color rendition with improved clarity and contrast, while the larger 60mm objective lens boosts its light-gathering performance in challenging conditions such as dawn and dusk lighting or when trying to see into wooded areas under dense canopies. The short form factor lets you hand hold it at lower powers for convenient glassing on the go without a support system. The two-speed focusing system features an 8:1 reducer mechanism to allow for fast coarse and precision fine focusing. For optimum eyepiece orientation, the tripod collar rotates up to 90° in both directions and is compatible with many tripods, quick release plates, and other popular support systems like window mounts.

[Porro] Used on two backpacking hunts in the southwest mountains this year, where I want glass performance but lightweight. I was impressed, just like I have been with my Hawke Frontier FFP 4-14x scope which is feature packed, light(er) weight for category, with great glass. Two quirks: when you spin the mag ring, topping out at 45x or bottoming at 15x, if you turn with additional pressure the whole ring mechanism continues to turn. Its odd and I wonder why it keeps rotating. I always know when I hit the magnification boundaries, but the additional turning doesn't seem to provide any functionality. Quirk #2 (being very critical here), the much appreciated protective cover is not super well designed in terms of access to the focus knobs. The cover over the nobs requires some finagling to access to nobs quickly. Overall 5 stars for a reason. By way of background, I have high end rifle scopes (swarovski, steiner, leupold top level) but very little experience with high end spotters. I have to believe this unit is an amazing value option, for those who don't need highest end glass or mag range, and compromise a little on great glass and moderate mag range. So far I'm jazzed. 5

[Porro] Great clarity, at least as good as my vortex razor in a lighter easier to carry scope. The fine focus is better than any I have used and is super precise which I think adds to the clarity. 5

[15 to 45x] Great light weight scope. Absolutely competes with all the bigger,heavier more expensive spotters. If you are hiking, hunting etc... this is the scope 100%. It is much brighter , clearer and sharper than the size would indicate. If shooting from one spot only and no need for mobility then the bigger scopes do have a slight advantage. This scope clearly shows animals details/rack size points etc... out past 1500 yards easily. At this price point I expected excellence. It has exceeded those expectations. Wonderful optics !!! 5

[15 to 45x] I love this compact scope. Very light weight and powerful. My friend has a 2000 $ scope and she prefers to use mine. Its small enough to fit in my day pack or over my shoulders with tripod attached. 5

[60 mm] I did a lot of research on what exactly I wanted in a spotting scope. I was looking for something ultralight, compact and not sacrificing glass quality. This was half the price of a Swarovski and is very comparable quality in its performance. I’ll always have this in my pack, B&H had the best pricing of anywhere that sells this spotting scope. Can’t go wrong with this spotter if you’re looking for something lightweight, compact, and top tier quality. 5

[22.0 to 17.0 mm] I have been looking for a compact travel scope for a while. The alternatives (such as Nikon ED50 or Vortex Razor HD) always felt too much like a compromise. This one is a real jewel and on a par with some of the best spotting scopes of the 65mm class. Pros: - Small and light - Smooth and reliable focus - Bright image for a 55mm scope - High resolution, even at 45x magnification - Useful magnification range - Comfortable eye relief for wearer of glasses Cons: - Relatively small field of view (normal for a zoom eyepiece) 5

[15 to 45x] This stope is very sharp, small and light weight. We will use it to view wolves and bears in Yellowstone as well as the birds near our home. It is easy to use and the cover protects it nicely. Highly recommended. 5

[Angled] I wanted a reasonably compact spotting scope for using at the range. This thing works great for that purpose. It has a quality bag to haul it back and forth and protect it when not in use. The image quality is clear and the construction of the unit seems robust. No complaints at all. 5

[22.0 to 17.0 mm] Great scope. Clear and sharp to the edges. Lightweight and compact. Some say the body feels cheap as it is a polycarbonate body but this is what makes it lightweight. Flourite glass is amazing! Price is right - much cheaper than Zeiss, Leica or Swaro but performance is on par or better. 15-45x 55mm objective is perfect combination....had a 60x Swaro never used 60x unless conditions were perfect as clarity suffered: And, given the weight, quality of glass, price and how often I went above 50x, Kowa is perfect. 5
