A: Good answer from Michael B. Additional for Robert- type 5/8 baby stud into the B$H search bar for a visual on many products with the stud showing. It will be obvious what part this is. I use the super clam to hold a AC strobe power supply to a strobe tripod. It is extremely secure with the clamp and the stud 1/4 thread mounts to the supply.

Your monopod would need to have a female 1/4"-20 thread, and even then with such a relatively weak connection, it would be highly unstable when your camera is mounted on the top of a monopod.
