Tama Dyna-sync Hi-hat Stand | Compact Design

Providing incomparable feel with extreme accuracy, the Dyna-Sync Hi-Hat Stand from TAMA delivers the same Dyna-Sync direct-drive system as the Dyna-Sync bass drum pedal, including the same length footboard and dual-linkage connection. The new spring damper reduces the contact noise that typically arises from the abrupt release of the footboard, and the footboard sports unique angle adjustment found only on Dyna-Sync products.
The handy tilt system lets you adjust the hi-hat stand for optimal placement in a wide range of setups and playing styles. The six-way tension adjustment lets you achieve your preferred level of tension easily using the six clearly visible settings. And with a special tension rod that won't come loose or bend during transport, the Dyna-Sync Hi-Hat Stand is an ideal performer for the gigging drummer.

With just one touch, the Quick-Set Clutch can be attached or removed—simply push the button on the side of the clutch. The clutch also allows the top hi-hat cymbal to float more freely, maximizing the natural resonance of the cymbals.
Specially shaped plastic and metal nuts fit together perfectly to keep the cymbal rod from loosening while playing.
No more tension rods getting bent out of shape during transport. With Spare-The-Rods, you can save your tension rod the rigors of the road by packing it in the specially designed upper section pipe. It's a small but very significant TAMA hardware innovation.
- Insert the tension rod into the upper tube.
- Hold the tension rod in place with the hi-hat clutch.
- Done. The upper tube covers the tension rod.
Not only do tilt-equipped stands offer more flexible setups, they also offer more expressive hi-hat work because you can tilt the hi-hat cymbal. Dyna-Sync hi-hat stands can be tilted quickly and easily by loosening just one T-bolt.
It's called a stand because it's not supposed to walk, and the Duo-Spike makes sure your hi-hat stands in one place. You can easily switch from rubber to metal using a standard drum key.
Drummers have come to recognize and appreciate independent bass-drum footboard angle adjustment as an important function to help customize a personal feel. This inspired TAMA to focus on the Dyna-Sync design and create a completely new and unique footboard angle adjustment. The Dyna-Sync footboard angle design integrates into the clam-shaped connection point between linkage and footboard and is fully adjustable to deliver a totally personalized pedal angle adjustment.
TAMA has changed the construction of the Bearing Hinge on the footplate from a one-piece assembly to two pieces, which holds the bearing more evenly—minimizing stress and maximizing smoothness, while adding to the pedal's sense of power.
Offering even less friction than a standard ball bearing, Oiles bearings also eliminate side-to-side motion and provide superior durability, which is why they're used in the aerospace industry.
The new Glide-Tite Grip Joint allows for a more secure attachment by using a metal-to-metal contact point. This provides an extremely solid anchor and complete isolation for a tom or cymbal. Because the stand does not move with the instrument, the natural resonance of that instrument is maximized.

Q: 1. Can you combine Benro Hi Hat and EDELKRONE Flex tilt Head if so will this combination support nikon d810 with tamron 24-70?cheers
A: Yes, but you'll need a half ball adapter in order to mount the Flex Tilt Head. Here is a Benro 75mm half ball adapter with a 3/8 -16 stud.
Q: 2. Would this work with a Benro S8? I'm concerned about the length of the Benro's stem. Also, how can this Riser be connected to a tripod?
A: Hi Thomas. Sorry for the delayed response. I use this item to attach a Miller Compass 21 Fluid Head to a very tall Manfrotto 161 Tripod (3 meters in in height). It's enabled a number of difficult shots. I am not acquainted with the Benro products (as such) but I can confirm that this item has worked well for me in the way that I have described.
Q: 3. Can this be used on a photography tripod like the Manfrotto 190xprob and mount a fluid head? Or should I just buy a video tripod with a fluid head already included instead?
A: I purchased this riser to be used at our church. It is screwed to the balcony front rail and has a Manfrotto fluid head supporting the Panasonic video camera. It is very well made, light yet sturdy and stable for our needs. I would think this mounted to a sturdy/beefy photo tripod and a fluid head will work quite well.
Q: 4. When mounting to a slider, how much stability is lost by raising the head and camera 6"? Am I better off just buying a flat-base head?
A: The ikan IK-RSR6 Hi-Hat Riser (6") (B&H# IKIKRSR6) simply raises the point of connection between the slider and the camera by around six inches. First, it should be said that even when not using a hi-hat, most uses of a slider will nevertheless still use a head such as a typical tripod head that is around 2.5-3" (6.35-7.6cm) tall anyway. Yes, raising the head even higher will make the slider more top heavy. However, whether or not that is a problem will depend on many factors and will well be worth it to video shooters wanting to use a half ball to be able to take the shot at a particular angle. If the load capacity of the slider can handle the extra weight then it should still be sufficiently stable, especially when used flat.
Q: 5. Is there a version of this with a flight case?
A: We think you are thinking of these dollies. However, in order for them to fit in a reasonable case, they do not incorporate a high hat. https://bhpho.to/2kitBVS
Q: 6. Do the legs lock in place so they can not be moved in any direction, or do they only lock in that they can not move further outward?
A: You can lock the legs in place.
Q: 7. Does this come included with a 100mm half ball leveler?
A: The item comes as shown in the photograph. The 100mm ball leveler would need to come from whatever tripod head you are using it with. It does come in a pretty cool bag as well as a set of extra screw on feet for different surfaces.
Q: 8. Is there a board I can buy that will turn this into a hi-hat? It would need to have a 3/8ths stud in the middle
A: Ikan does not have a board option for their IK-RSR6 riser. Other solutions with a board are - Proaim Heavy-Duty Cinema Hi-Hat with Octagonal Board (75mm) BH #PRHTBWL7500
Q: 9. I have Manfrotto 503HDV head, is it compatible with this one?
A: no the 503 head is a 75mm ball head and this will require a 100mm ball head.
Q: 10. Are there mounting holes for a Mounting Board?
A: Yes. If you rotate the red feet there is a hole.
