Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the Rode SC4 compatible with iphone 5s?

A: Yes it is compatible.

Q: 2. Hello I have a 2016 MacBook Pro running Mojave. I want to use the Rode SC4 to attach the RodeLink Filmmakers lav mic. Will it work? Thank you

A: Yes

Q: 3. Can this be used to go from the XLR outputs on a mixer board to the rode wireless go 2 TX unit inputs

A: I'm sorry, but the Cable Techniques 3.5mm TRS Right Angle to Two 3-Pin XLR Male Tape Output Y-Cable Adapter that you asked about would not allow you to output from a mixer into a wireless transmitter. Most mixers will have XLR male outputs, so you will need female XLR connectors on the cable. Additionally, the Rode Wireless Go II transmitter will only accept input from a mic level source. The cable that I am linking below has the correct gendered connectors, and also has a built in attenuator to lower line level to mic, so that you can successfully send the stereo line signal into the transmitter: https://bhpho.to/3IdRNCf

Q: 4. When plugged into a MixPre 3 II will I still be able to close the sides of my Stingray bag?

A: If you have a little bit of space between the end of the MixPre 3 II and the end of your bag, then you will be able to use the Sennheiser CL 35-XLR Right-Angle Locking 3.5mm TRS to XLR Male Coiled Output Cable without any problems.

Q: 5. Can I plug my Rode mic into this converter and then plug this converter into my USB-C adapter?

A: Yes! exactly how you said it in that order.

Q: 6. Do I need this adaptor to connect a Rodelink receiver to my zoom h5?

A: Also, to connect your Rodelink receiver, you will need a Kramer 3.5mm Male to 3.5mm Male Stereo Audio Cable (25') you can find here on B&H, or something similar, to channel your data from the receiver to the recorder.

Q: 7. Hi, I need an adaptor to plug in a stereo microphone into an Android device. My android device does record stereo through its internal mics. So I just want to record using an external stereo mic, will this adaptor be suitable for that purpose?

A: Hi, yes the SC4 is compatible with stereo microphones, however both left and right channels will be combined to a mono signal as is the standard with TRRS inputs, which only have one single mic input channel.

Q: 8. Has the compatibility with the iPhone 6S been worked out in the app?? Are there currently any issues with the app on an iPad Air 2 with the most current iOS?

A: It works fine with the iPhone 6s. I have tested it with the Rode VideoMic Pro and with a Sennheiser EW 112-p G3 wireless, using the Rode Record app and Hindenburg Pro and I've had no issues.

Q: 9. Is it compatible with Apple iPhone 6S? I just purchased it based in the answers for iPhone 5S, but so far I have not been able to record the input from a variety of external mikes that I've hooked up through this adaptor. Am I missing something or is the configuration different?

A: Do the mcs you've used require external power? Because neither the iPhone nor this adapter will provide power. I can confirm that this adapter WILL will work with any recent iPhone if you use a self-powered mic.

Q: 10. Would this work to convert Rode Lav TRRS to TRS for use with Zoom H1? Does my mic need to be powered?

A: I have a Rode Smartlav+ Lavalier Microphone and a Zoom H1, and this adapter works perfectly for me.

[6' / 1.8 m] This is a great quality coiled XLR cable. It is about 6 to 18 length. For camcorder applications, be aware that there are 2 90 degree connectors which can make the camcorder side connection difficult or impossible because of the 90 degree connector. If you need 2 90 degree connections on a short and compact XLR cable, this is perfect.

[22 AWG] I purchased the Kopul Right-Angle Male Mini-Jack to XLR cable to use with the Tascam DR-60DmkII recorder, and it works perfectly. It's soft and flexible and seems durable. The only quibble I have is the notch on the male XLR connector. Due to the experience of previous reviewers of the DR-60D, I am wary of plugging in any notched connectors. Other Kopul XLR cables are not notched and work worry-free for me, as well as perfectly. As I have stated, it is just a quibble; otherwise, the Kopul right-angle mini to XLR cable works perfectly.
