Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anyone purchased the SKB 1914-8 Case? Which one is it exactly?

A: The reusable storage foam that the PT1200 comes with is compatible with the SKB 1914-8 Case. We suggest getting SKB 3I-1914-8B-E, which is the empty version of the case.

Q: 2. Does this come with the 70/30 glass?

A: Yes it does come with the class. I'd recommend getting the hard case too, wish I did.

Q: 3. Does this teleprompter mount to a Sony Venice?

A: The ikan PT1200 12" Portable Teleprompter Kit (B&H# IKPT1200) could accept a Sony VENICE 6K Digital Motion Picture Camera (B&H# SOMPC36101).

Q: 4. Would anyone put an Astra on one of these things? Would love to put stands inside the case.

A: This stand is capable of holding up to 11 LBS, so it can definitely hold a Litepanels Astra panel which weighs about 7 LBS.

Q: 5. Does this work well with Godox S Bracket?

A: I don't see why not. It has a standard mounting stud.

Q: 6. What is the smallest foot print? Wondering if this could double as a 360 camera stand.

A: These are good since the legs are very thin, but you will not want to pull them in very much or they will get very instable.

Q: 7. I have a camera thats on a standard 15mm rod system with matte box. Can i just remove my matte box and put this on in its place? Its a Red camera so its taller and probably wont need the riser.

A: This system does use 15mm rods, so that may be possible. You might find that using the included baseplate and rise works better with the Teleprompter though and we do not recommend swapping out the baseplate from this system.

Q: 8. Same quality than the Manfrotto 5001B Nano one? thank you

A: I have not compared them side by side but I can say that the light stand in question is very good quality.

Q: 9. Does the monitor have a flip horizontal (mirror) option?

A: Yes, this monitor will flip.

Q: 10. Can this hold an Aputure 120d with Light dome ii?

A: It is rated for 11 lbs. Just be careful of wind.

[Not Compatible] They fit in my carry on bag when I have to do travel shoots. They are pretty light weight and portable. Easy to set up. Would definitely recommend for a travel kit. They do not hold a ton of weight though, so keep that in mind, but they hold my LED hotlights.

[2.85 lb] I have 4 of these stands and they work quite well. I put the Lowell Omni lights on them. They fold down perfectly and fit well in to my carry on travel bag.

[Rectangular] Got these for a few weddings I had to travel for, and did not want to spend a lot. I thought they would feel cheap and flimsy, but they don't (this is compared to cheap amazon metal stands). I can even fit them in a carry on. They have a good height to use for a wedding reception (this is where I use them) and while maybe not as high as I like them, they were enough, a good trade off in order to pack so small. I did not let them rest flush in the floor, but raised them like 6 inches above the ground. They felt solid for my godox flashes (t685) magmods. Really happy I got them, specially being on the least expensive side (I almost got the Matthews version).

[Aluminum] I purchased this stand because I am a traveling wedding photographer. I needed a tall light stand you put my Alienbees 1600 on. I previously used the Manfrotto nano, which was good but just not tall enough. In terms of construction I give the LS-RL7 an A-. It has all metal legs and column, although the clamps are plastic. Don't get me wrong this thing looks like you could set it up then beat someone with it. I am very satisfied with it's construction. It extends to over 7' when fully set up. Although when I set it up with the legs fully extended its about 7' right on the dot. It holds my 5 point strobe great. What I love is that it's tall and it fits inside my luggage.

[Aluminum] I decided to give this stand a shot for indoor wedding getting ready /prep shots. My goal way to use it with a speed light: it worked really well for this. For a second wedding, I decided to try an s bracket with a 24-inch Glow HexaPop modifier and a speed light. This worked better than expected, though I was careful with this setup. When folded up, the stand almost fits into this modifier's carrying case (very convenient). I have not used this thing outside; I use my other light stands for that purpose. Highly recommended for low-weight, indoor applications.
