The white Selador Desire D40 Lustr+ LED Fixture with Edison Connector from ETC combines 40 Luxeon Rebel emitters in one unit, for bright, efficient lighting. The PAR-shaped washlight is a multipurpose tool that can be combined into a rig with conventional fixtures or used by itself. It features efficient primary lenses and careful color choices making it useful for stage and studio applications where strong color and high intensity are required.

By combining up to seven LED colors per fixture, the x7 Color System creates a balanced blend of deep, saturated colored or natural white light. And with the Desire luminaires, you get even more color flexibility through the Adaptive Color Control system. The Selador x7 Color System produces a wide range of spectrally balanced, saturated, and tinted color choices.

The user-interface on the rear of the unit puts the control in your hands – the Desire luminaire can be managed by any RDM-enabled controller or on their own. The fixture offers Quick Setup options, so you can quickly and easily adjust the luminaire’s performance.

The additional red-shift option allows the Desire fixture to mimic a tungsten fade, and the Plus 7 Mode gives you control over each LED color to increase or decrease individual colors. Using the built-in color-pickers on ETC lighting control consoles (sold separately), you can pick a gel match for the Desire fixtures to produce, or you can modify the color to get the exact shade you want.

You get amazing all-around theatrical-quality light from the D40 Lustr+ array. The x7 Color System is optimized in Lustr+ units to create clean white and tinted light, to bring out the beauty of set pieces and render individual skin tones naturally.

A rugged, die-cast enclosure, noiseless fan-free operation, multiple lens options, and advanced user interface make this fixture a great choice for multiple applications.

A: Unfortunately, this fixture does not include a lens tube. One such lens tube that can be used is the ETC Enhanced Definition Lens Tube for Source 4 Black Ellipsoidals, Black - 50 Degrees B&H # ET450EDLTB. An image is shown below for reference.

Q: 2. Has anyone done a flight with the light?

A: No, we always send ours (we have 2 30's in a hard case) with ground teams or ship them FedEx ground. Our case with both units is about 65lbs.

Q: 3. Which mount of this SkyPanel should I buy if I want to attach a center mount yoke? Is a center mount yoke the best way to have the SkyPanel stand vertical on the floor? What is the best mount to have the lamp stand vertical on the floor?

A: Not much reason to spin it vertical as its basically square

Q: 4. Can the LED be changed out when the lifespan is up?

A: The LED array in the ETC Source Four LED Series 2 Lustr is not user-replaceable. The unit would have to be returned to ETC if replacement of the LED array is required.

Q: 5. I'm interested in using it for video. How is the color accuracy, and does it cause any flicker issues with cameras when dimmed?

A: The CHAUVET DJ LED Followspot 120ST Fixture is really designed for theater and not photo use. It can be used for video. The manufacture does not have a color accuracy rating on that light.

A: According to the user manual included with the ARRI SkyPanel Battery Adapter Plate, you may use an Anton/Bauer or V-mount battery that has a voltage of 14.4V, with a minimum of 100 Wh. 210 W is nominal, while 240 W is the maximum recommended for usage with the ARRI Anton Bauer Battery Plate for Skypanel S30 and S60 LED Soft Lights, B&H # ARBPABSP, or the ARRI V-Mount Battery Plate for Skypanel S30 and S60 LED Soft Lights, B&H # ARBPVMSP. Always use two batteries of the same type, age, and state of charge.

A: According to the manufacturer, this fixture will produce a beam diameter of 14 degrees at 2 meters with a lux rating of 16,060.

[21 x 18 x 16"] Pop it in the gel frame holder at the front of the light. You'll still be able to use a gel frame in the space behind or in front, or a top hat in front of it (the donut and top hat together really clear up the image), though you can't have all three at once - there's only two slots in the mini's frame holder. 5

[21 x 18 x 16"] Works flawlessly - the focus is sharp, the flags cut the light just as needed, it's built very solidly, and it puts out a ton of light with just a 575w bulb. Worth every penny. We are a mobile church and we used just four of these as the backbone of our lighting setup for Sundays, and needed the lighter weight. As far as output, we don't have to put them up above half to get the light we need. Concerning control, we are able to keep the light extremely controlled, specifically keeping it off the projection screen, which is right above the singers heads. Because of this, we were able to maximize our projector's output lumens and not have to overcompensate with it, or compromise on scene brightness. We couldn't be happier with the purchase. 5

[21 x 18 x 16"] I bought four of these to incorporate into a permanent install, and to travel to smaller events. The lights were very easy to install - I was up and running in minutes. Programming is intuitive - from the menu on the back of the light, an IRC remote, and a lighting console. The only caveat to that is the ability to dim or turn off the lights. I had to set the light to a static color (like red), then turn the intensity of the color to 0%. This in effect turns off the light. The lights are very portable, and just what I wanted to bring some life to a school dance, special church event, etc. MelRae in Texas 5
