Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hello is this microphone pc friendly ? could i plug it to computer?

A: This microphone has a standard 3-pin XLR connector on it. To connect to a computer, you will need an audio interface. There are many interfaces on the market that are all-in-one, with microphone preamps. In short, no, this microphone will not connect straight into a computer.

Q: 2. When muted, is there a light indicator?

A: Yes, the mute on/off status of the Senal MXBM-621/O MX Series Condenser Boundary Microphone is indicated by a dedicated LED.

Q: 3. Is this mic compatible with the Canon XA40?

A: Yes, the Senal MXBM-621/O is compatible for use with the Canon XA40.

Q: 4. How does the KSM141/SL ST pair differ from the previous KSM141/ST pair?

A: There does not appear to be any difference at all between the current and older versions of the Shure KSM141/SL ST PAIR Condenser Microphone (Stereo Pair).

Q: 5. The question isn't why are 2 mics more expensive than 1, it is why is there a $100 premium over buying 2 separately. Is it because they are 'matched'?

A: The difference in cost between purchasing two Rode NT55 Compact Condenser Microphones with Interchangeable Capsules as opposed to the Matched Pair item can indeed be credited to the fact that the pair is matched, making them more ideal for recording as a stereo pair.

Q: 6. Will this mic work in a House of Worship?

A: The Senal MXBM-621/O MX Series Condenser Boundary Microphone will function the same regardless of the type of building it is used in. All it requires is an XLR mic input which can provide phantom power.

Q: 7. Why is the matched pairs expensive than the single Nt55?

A: The matched pair comes with 2 microphones. The single NT55 comes with 1 microphone.

Q: 8. Would this mic work for people sitting 4 or 5 feet away? Any idea of the distance this could cover?

A: Yes, the MXBM-621/O can capture audio from people speaking who are 4 to 5 feet apart. The distance for coverage will vary depending on the environment where the mic is being used. The omnidirectional pattern picks up sound from 360 degrees and works best in quiet environments. Mics of this nature are often used for conferences and meetings. The mic is placed in the center of a table and picks up the voices of participants seated around the table.

Q: 9. Will this accommodate an iPhone with a case? Is the Lightning connector long enough?

A: Yes, the Saramonic SmartMic Di Mini will connect to an iPhone with a case. I have also seen a few different reviews on YouTube, where end users have used the Saramonic SmartMic Di Mini with different iPhone cases.

Q: 10. Does a Rode NT1000 large diaphragm microphone requires phantom power turned on in a mixer?

A: Yes it does.

[Mono] I love the clarity on this microphone- great for a variety of uses, especially with live sound recording, well spaced apart from one another to optimize the recording pattern. Recorded live instruments in a large space and had no issues with getting the sound and placement the way I wanted it. B&H had a slightly longer shopping time when I bought them so don't wait until the last minute, but I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to build out their fleet of microphones.

[48 V] I record a lot of live mostly classical music concerts and recitals. I've got a panoply of microphones and wouldn't you know it my mainstay Schoeps had to go off for repairs to Germany (a 2 month turnaround at best). I also own an old pair of KSM 137, (which are TERRIFIC mics) but I dropped one, so it is also out for repair (Shure's turnaround maybe a week!). With one final concert before the end of the season I had no reliable SDC pair so decided to purchase these 141s and try them out in Cardioid ORTF in front of two vocalists. In comparison to the Schoeps or 137 or Neumann and by only one use there is a winner here that can tag along for spots, ambience or even mains. With the added choice for Omnis, which I have not tried yet, I am pretty confident the detail and trueness to sound and response should work out very well. I was told a while back by an old pro that the 137s and 141s are good substitutes for the Schoeps, the 141's similar to the MK5 capsules. Well worth it. My advice, don't drop your mics or pull out a live 48p cable! Power down and keep a steady hand.

[Solid-State] Audio-Technica has achieved what I thought was not possible in a microphone at this price. It provides very accurate and clear reproduction of string and reed instruments with a robust signal/noise ratio. In fact, the self-noise is far below what I expected in this small diaphragm design.

[Omnidirectional] These microphones are superb. I do nature and location recordings and every chance I can take to use omni mics I take it. I upgraded to these from a cheaper pair and now I'll never look back. Not only do they have an amazing flat low-noise response, they also have great off-axis response and, so far, they've tolerated humidity and low temperatures (still above freezing) without any problems whatsoever. They are so natural and tansparent that you really don't have to worry about coloration, if you just focus on nailing your placement and location the mics will deliver. Omnidirectional mics in general are incredibly underrated and underused because people don't appreciate all the benefits they offer beyond just the polar pattern. Love these mics and I can't recommend them highly enough!

[48 V] I purchased this as a replacement for a well-used and worn-out microphone. The manufacturer's part # along w/ B&H's photo allowed me to be confident that I was ordering the correct product. It worked well and B&H's price was great.

[Mono] Using it in our 'home studio' for prosumer-level performance video recording. Working great. Sound level top notch, lightweight, easy to assemble/disassemble. Definitely just right for this level of work.
