This Quick Release Sliding Leg C-Stand with Grip Armfrom Quick Release Sliding Leg C-Stand with Grip Armfeatures a 40" double riser that can't compare for sturdy support for light fixtures and accessories weighing up to 22 lb. This chrome-finish sliding leg model has a movable top leg designed for leveling the stand on uneven surfaces like stairs or curbs. Impact's unique quick release leg lock simplifies opening and closing the legs for rapid deployment and breakdown. With a simple twist, the legs open to the perfect position, with no extra positioning required, then tightening the knob to lock everything in place. The C-stand's unique feature of staggered leg height allows it to be placed close to other stands when floor space is at a premium or several stands need to fit in a small area. Constructed with oversized steel tubing for maximum rigidity and strength, oversized locking handles, and stainless steel brake inserts, this C-stand will hold it securely until it's time to wrap.

The 40" Grip Arm features a fixed 2.5" grip head with large, ergonomic T-handles for maximum torque. When combined with the beefy 2.5" grip head, it creates a sturdy setup for supporting light fixtures and light-modifying gobos like flags, silks, and scrims.

The unique quick release system requires only a slight twist to let the feet fall perfectly into place. Once open, there's no additional adjustment required when using on level ground.

The sliding leg design allows one leg to be set at any height to position the stand on a curb or stairs and have the same solid support as on flat ground.

This sturdy double riser C-stand is designed to support a light fixture or accessory weighing up to 22 lb anywhere from 4.3 to 10.3'.

The included 40" stainless steel grip arm is engineered to securely hold most lights, light modifiers, and grip gear weighing up to 10 lb.

Both 2.5" grip heads provide a 5/8" hole for grip arms and other baby baby pin attachments, a 3/8" hole for gobos and flags, as well as 1/2" and 1/8" holes. The aluminum alloy construction gives the grip heads durable strength to withstand the most demanding production environments. Its beefy construction can secure light fixtures or other accessories like butterfly and overhead frames.

The stainless steel heli-coil brake inserts assure incredible gripping power and withstand a significant amount of torque without damaging the C-stand's brake casting.

The stand features oversized tubes that will support lateral stress loads without flexing. Loads will be secure and won't wobble even at maximum load capacity set at maximum stand height.

Large, ergonomic T-handles are easy to grip and offer maximum torque for securing payloads.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. baby pin for this boom arm?

A: No, you have to buy a pin separately.

Q: 2. Is this including the boom arm or not?

A: Yes it does

Q: 3. How long is the boom arm?

A: Mine measures 42 inches.

Q: 4. What is the maximum recommended load of the arm when extended about two-thirds of the way? Or, when fully extended?I plan to use these with speed lights and modifiers (typically 3 lbs, but possibly up to 8 lbs). I'll have a 15 lb sandbag over the large leg.

A: I don't know what the maximum load the arm can handle extended 2/3 out is but 8 pounds is nothing. For outdoor shoots I use 3 Nikon SB-800 Speed mounted onto a Wescott Triple Threat Speedlite bracket/bare flash or shoot through umbrella in conjunction with 3 Nikon Phottix Odin receivers for easy as pie high speed sync outdoor portraits. I hope this helps.

Q: 5. Is the footprint 30 ? or 39 ?

A: The footprint for this stand is 39.3 .

Q: 6. Can you put casters on this stand? If so what size?

A: I'd say no. Tried popping the caps off, but they seem mostly permanent.

Q: 7. Does anyone know where these Impact C-Stands are manufactured?

A: I believe Impact is a B&H brand. The quality of these C-Stands are amazing! Youll be happy with it for sure!

Q: 8. Can you recommend a case for carrying two of these?

A: There are rifle cases made of plastic that can handle a C-stand. I once rented a couple and the rental company used them. One manufacturer is Plano, but there are others.

Q: 9. I want to purchase these C-Stands along with casters. Which size of Impact casters fit these stands?

A: While there are no casters produced for the Impact Turtle Base C-Stands, you could use the Manfrotto 299BBASE, which will accept the 1 1/8 spigot at the end of the C-Stand riser.

Q: 10. If I break it down will it fit into a suitcase that is 27 to 30 ?

A: Yes, we believe so. You can separate the legs from the pole. When separated from the legs, the pole is 31 long. We believe if you put it into the suitcase diagonally it would fit. And the legs are about 25 long when separated from the pole.

[Yes] I own a few Manfrotto and Matthews C-Stands. This one seems to be just as well built, and saved me quite some buck.

Used them on a shoot with heavy rain, no rust whatsoever.

[Steel] I've wanted one of these stands for years, so I could better center my keylight, and I finally caved and bought one. I can't believe it took me so long. This thing easily holds a 22 beauty dish and a Godox AD200 mounted on a Godox S-Type Speedlite Bracket for Bowens with a Kupo Baby 5/8 Grip Arm Pin. I just stick a sandbag on the base, and it's done.

It is, however, VERY heavy. I took it out of my studio for an on-location shoot, and it was a pain to carry around, so it'll likely just be a permanent resident of my home studio.
