Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the inside thread pitch of these for connecting another set creating a 24 long rail? Does B&H have a part# for that connector part?

A: Michael, this is an odd situation, The thread pitch is not a standard US or metric pitch. We do not have the exact size so you would need to inquire with Tilta. The connector SKU # is R15-C They have a support portal on their website.

Q: 2. Will this brand work with the smallrig rods?

A: no this will NOT work with the smallrig rods

Q: 3. Is this strong enough to be used with tilta grips to support a 35lb camera kit?

A: Although aluminum rods are sturdy enough for support, overtime, they will thin out and attachments will not latch properly. Stainless steel and titanium are materials that you buy for life. Also, using 19mm rods is recommended for any kind of zoom lens and you will not get any play, unlike 15mm rods on heavier builds.

Q: 4. Do these have male threads? I want to get some 8” rods for a more compact setup, but I want the ability to add a few inches when putting a matte box on.

A: Yes, these do have threads in them. You can connect rods together using this threaded rod connector: https://tilta.com/shop/15mm-rod-connection-screw-pair-r15-c/

Q: 5. Is the extended arm adjustable?

A: The hand wheel and gear is adjustable as it is separate from the arm that connects to the rod.

Q: 6. Is the direction of focus reversible - ie.e for a canon lens - on this Wooden Camera Zip Focus?

A: Hang the ff upside down, from a top mounted rod to reverse throw

Q: 7. can the rod fit into a 2.5 inch grip head so it can be positioned at an angle?

A: The 9.SOLUTIONS 16mm Rod Set (19.7") can fit into a 2.5 inch grip head so it can be positioned at an angle

Q: 8. What is the size of the female thread, 1/4 20?

A: We're afraid this is not 1/4"-20. It is a 1" thread designed specifically to connect rods to each other. Here is Tilta Single Rod Connector for Tilta 15mm Rods B&H # TIR15C that allows you to connect two rods with a female thread. https://bhpho.to/2QYFqP9

Q: 9. What size is the thread?

A: The 15mm rods have a thread of 11mm-1.0.

Q: 10. Does this fit onto the komodo X side rib cage system?

A: The SmallRig 12mm/15mm Single-Rod Clamp will mount to any cage that has a 1/4"-20 thread receiver with an Arri Anti-Twist pin hole next to it.

[0.25 lb] Wow these are skinny but really strong to get into tight spots with the Pico Clamp attached reflector or whatever. Threads are cut smooth to attach whatever with secure tenacity. I'll get more.

[0.25 lb] I liked this 19-15 adaptor. Im steadicam operator and all my brackets are Jerry Hill. sometimes is difficult fit the motor on the lens and when I saw this, I realiza you can change the measure of the rods. I used twice since I bought and it works.

[0.25 lb] I use this on my Canon HF G10 video camera. It has proven itself to be very usable to stabilize video shoots with it. The size lends itself to be very controllable without the use of counter weights of other systems. Certainly the counter weight systems are useful in many if not all situations however if those systems are too cumbersome or restrictive then this is one to use. The Canon HF G10 uses a flash drive so it is not a heavy camera making it easy for this grip to handle. The single hand-grip is made of sturdy molded plastic and the attachment and pivot points are well made with a mix of chrome plated high tensile steel and high carbon steel where they count. This type of hand grip is very hard to come by as a lot of available hand grips are either part of a counter weight system or mounting system for lights, microphones, etc. In summary this is a well made, high quality single purpose accessory that deserves support from the motion and still photography community. It is easy to use and its cost is very reasonable in considering its quality. I am a firm believer in the saying that you pay for what you get. The only thing wrong about this item is that it is not always available for immediate purchase. A possible testament to its popularity? Perhaps.

[0.25 lb] These things aren't too compllicated but they look nice and stand up to heavy use. They just straight up do the job.

[0.25 lb] One of the tightest-feeling clamp-on focus units I've used. The gearing is nice and steady with no kickback and the gears are easy to swap.

The dial is on the larger side so you have a lot of precision in rotational travel.

[0.25 lb] I used this in combination with a Pedco UltraMount Universal Ball Head, an Impact Small 3/8" Female Threaded Adapter to 1/4"-20 Male Threaded Post, a Vello Cold Shoe Mount with 1/4" thread, and a lock nut from a Rycote 037302 Hot Shoe Adaptor to attach a Rode Video Mike to my Manfrotto Fluid Drive Head. This freed up the camera hot shoe to hold another accessory, and moved the mike to a position where it was out of my way and less likely to pick up camera sounds. You would think that an item like this would be commercially available as a unit, but every "magic arm" I found was more complex, more expensive and still required some more hardware to complete the link. The setup works perfectly.

[0.25 lb] The handgrip and plate work very well in helping to stabilize footage using both my Canon 7d and Canon Hv30. Using this with the Cavision viewfinder I have a excellent alternative to high priced competing products.

[0.25 lb] I had a couple of follow focus over the last 12 years and was looking for a single-rod system since I want to scale down my rig.

I ordered the new LanParte Mini follow focus cause it seems good for the price, but the tightening screw broke on the first use! The wheel is also quite small if you have big hands.

This one is, of course more expensive, but you get what you paid for. Very, very smooth focus gearing, nice big wheel and easy to install.

I found the one!
