Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens combination preferred by hunters, birders, and outdoor enthusiasts, the Alpen Optics 10x42 Wings Waterproof Binocularscan be your go-to optic for all outdoor activities in any weather conditions.

The 42mm objectives gather all the light needed to keep views crisp and bright in challenging conditions such as at dawn and dusk without being overly bulky or cumbersome. The wide field of view helps to minimize the distracting hand-shake that is common with high-power optics and reduces side-to-side head movement while providing both a comfortable eye relief and wide exit pupil. Utilizing an open bridge with dual hinges helps to reduce weight while providing ample room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip.

[Roof (BAK4)] I bought these a couple of years ago after looking at a friend's and
comparing to my other Germanic like-price binoculars. These are equally good but have different infuriating flaws. The other ones have an annoying amount of secondary lateral chroromatic aberration (purple fringes at the edges.) These have it too but less than half as bad.

The flaws: These have excellent stray light baffling but unlike my other equally expensive ones, its not perfect. With the sun or sun-illuminated clouds within 20 degrees of the field edge, its noticeable.

The eye cups rotate in and out but don't hold position well. This is actually the worst flaw.

The flop down lens caps broke off under two years of heavy use birding. These should be designed like the eyepiece cap, as a single piece that pulls off. In fact, I glued them to a piece of leather that attaches to the strap and now this problem is gone.

[2.31 lb] The field of view is just like they say they are. Easy to use on a boat or land. Crisp clear and easy to adjust from near to far images. They got 5atars because they deserve it my only problem with them is the top lens cap comes off easy in the case.

[42 mm] I traded replaced an old pair of Zeiss binoculars. These are much brighter and I love the attached lenses covers. They are well balanced and extremely bright and clear. O
The only con was that instead of the nice carrying case Swarovski used to include was replaced with a soft cloth bag with a drawstring.

[42 mm] Careful not to order the Model 80 by mistake. Also an Alpen Teton 10x42, but not with the Abbe prisms.
These binocs are insanely bright. Like going from watching and HD movie to watching one in 3D IMAX. Very impressed with them for this price. I could have used a tad more eye relief but that's nit picking.

[4.2 mm] I've been using a pair of very good binoculars for bird watching over the last several years but needed some more sight assistance by stepping up to 10x42 binoculars. The instructions for use and care are clear and the ability to adjust for a difference in acuity between my eyes has been very helpful. I've just used these once so far so many have a bit more of a learning curve to go but I feel I'm on the right path to seeing with more clarity now!

[10x] I bought 2 Hawke Nature-Trek 10x42 bins for my grandkids. I researched all of the entry level bins on the internet and Hawke stood out in the reviews. Comparing these binoculars to my $500 Leupolds, I was surprised at the solid build and optics. Not the light gathering ability of Leupold, but solid clear easy to focus images. Excellent price and service from B&H, as always. I think these will give the kids years of enjoyment. I also recommend these for the casual adult user.

[Center] The build quality light and especially the clarity are fantastic
Light comfortable with great new strap design all I could have wished for - tried the Pure too and very different but these are better

One issue is tethered lens caps occasionally fall off but truly a great purchase
