With sharp images and the power to resolve minute details, the 45° angled viewing Alpen Optics Kodiak 20-60x60 Angled Spotting Scopeis a powerful and versatile optic ideal for birding, hunting, shooting, and general nature viewing in your backyard or all the way out in the backcountry.

A large 60mm objective lens gives the scope the light-gathering power to produce vivid images in even low light and to ensure views remain bright even when studying subjects on maximum magnification at long range. The anti-reflection fully multicoated optics minimize reflections and maximize light transmission to help produce bright and clear high-contrast views with accurate colors and crisp clarity.

There is no need to stay home when the weather takes a nasty turn—the Kodiak is engineered to withstand the elements, with a nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed body that is waterproof and resistant to internal fogging in extreme weather conditions and temperatures. To get you observing right out of the box, Alpen includes a collapsible tabletop tripod that is outfitted with a simple pan head and control handle. For extra protection while you're heading to your observation point, a tethered objective lens cap and carrying case are included.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Eye piece is not getting fixed up in body?

A: Haven't had a problem. But I'm still so angry at B&H for advertising this on the website -- which I purchased a Christmas gift and it didn't come in until March. It was unconscionable behavior and no one -- and I'm mean no one at B&H after a half dozen calls -- could or would give me a straight answer as what was happening with the ship date.

Q: 2. What is the eye relief? Is the eyepiece integral, or can I change eyepieces? (I know that's two questions.)

A: Eye Relief 16.5 mm You may add something like this: Field Optics Research Eyeshield Spotting Scope Eyecup B&H # FIS001: https://bhpho.to/2lOwDVV

Q: 3. What adapters are available for my mobile phone (Moto G5) ? I can't find any phone adapters for this spotting scope.

A: This may work for you. But I can't be sure the Novagrade Universal Standard Digiscoping Adapter. B&H # NOPA020001 that is the B&H part number.

Q: 4. Does this Nikon have a tripoid mount included with purchase? Will it fit on the E IMAGE EK60AAM tripod without needing an additional purchase of an adapter ?

A: The Nikon ProStaff 5 20-60x82 Spotting Scope (Straight Viewing) BH #NIPS582SZFS • MFR #6974 has a 1/4" screw hole on the base for attaching to any standard tripod. It will mount to the E-Image EK60AAM Fluid Drag Video Head and Tripod BH #EIEK60AAM • MFR #EK60AAM. You may want an additional quick release plate to mount on the scope and leave on.

Q: 5. how would you rate this to the Leupold Ventana SX 1 ?

A: This is an excellent product.

Q: 6. Are you able to rotate the scope so the eye piece goes to the side instead of pointing up?

A: The eyepiece of the Nikon ProStaff 5 20-60x82 Spotting Scope (Angled Viewing) BH #NIPS582AZFS • MFR #6975 does not rotate.

Q: 7. How do I find out about the Warranty on this scope?

When shopping our site you can always see what is included with an item by viewing the overview tab and finding the “In the Box” listing located on the right hand side of our web page. Q: 8. Do you have to buy eyepiece separately or comes with one? Also, what is needed to attach Nikon dslr?

A: This model comes with the eyepiece included. To attach your Nikon DSLR you can do the Novagrade Digiscoping Adapter for Nikon DSLR Cameras. Website link: https://bhpho.to/2iB7tDx

[1/4"-20 Female] I purchased this scope with plans of using it at the indoor range I go to but it turns out that it isn't bright enough at my indoor range for this power scope, but, for the outdoor range it's great and I'm glad I bought it. B&H had the best price, free next day shipping, and they even threw in a couple of freebies! It turned out to be a win win!

[18.0 to 15.0 mm] I didn't have very high expectations for the scope only that I would be able to see down 100yr range when testing the scope I was able to see large 12ftx12ft objects greater than 100yr. Very happy and please. While the tripod is toss in in my opinion is sturdier than most short toss in tripods. Would recommend if you are looking for a low budget spotting scope to do the job. This would not work well in low light!

[18.0 to 15.0 mm] I own multiple Burris scopes and I have owned every over priced brand and style of scope out there. In my opinion Burris optics are just as good or superior. Don’t believe the nonsense that sales men or their associates tell you Burris products are great.

[Angled] Only had it a few days, but the image quality and fine focus is outstanding. The machining and fit are excellent. Really impressed. Also bought the 30mm eyepieces for both the MOA and MIL reticles and they are clear and precise - excellent quality.

[20 to 60x] It's very good for my needs. I'm using it to spot the hits on paper target for airguns (10m/25m) and it's amazing for it! For it to be perfect, only if the tripod was a little higher.
