[Aluminum] I was completely satisfied with this purchase. I had a filter holder for another camera. When I upgraded the camera the filter holder would not fit the new lens. So, this adapter ring was purchased to fix that problem. It works perfectly, sliding into my existing holder. This means I can use the filter holder with either camera just by swapping out the adapter. B&H shipped the product immediately and it arrived in just a few days, well protected and in perfect shape. 5

[Aluminum] I actually purchased this to build a holder for welding lenses (eclipse photos) but ended up mounting solar filter film directly to the ring. For my application this adapter ring worked better than expected. The ring was used on a Canon 100-400. 5

[55 mm] I find these much more convenient than the plastic, spring loaded caps. they are a lot more expensive, but worth it in my estimation. I also use K&F concepts magnetic caps. 5
