Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there a way to pull in recorded WAV/clips over the network from a shared drive?

A: The Akai Professional Force does not have the ability to connect to networked storage drives.

Q: 2. Does it come with pre-programmed drum beats?

A: No. There are no sounds in the unit and there are no sound output connectors. It is a controller only.

Q: 3. I'm a beginner ... is it possible to use it with Roland S-1 as a keyboard? is there any usb to midi adapter for this?

A: The only way to use the Akai MPK Mini Mk3 25-Key MIDI Controller (White) is by using a computer in conjunction with any USB device that has a MIDI output, such as the Focusrite 4i4 (B&H # FOSCAR4I44G). When set properly, you can route the MIDI data from the computer to the S-1 via the MIDI out port on the device/interface with most MIDI-capable DAWs.

Q: 4. What Downloadable Music Creation Software does this come with?

A: MPK mini comes bundled with Hybrid 3, by AIR Music Tech, SONiVOXs Wobble, and MPC Essentials.

Q: 5. does this only work with specific DAW?

A: The MPK mini MKII will work with any DAW. I've personally used it with Ableton Live, Logic, Bitwig, and Pro Tools.

Q: 6. Can you use the MIDImix with an MPC One? Seems like a natural fit, but I'm not finding it.

A: Yes, the MIDImix can be used together with the MPC One. You will need to do a setup directly within the MPC One's MIDI hardware/mapping menu prior to operation.

Q: 7. How to get sound from keyboard. Not working.

A: The MPK Mini MKIII is a MIDI keyboard controller, meaning that it cannot make sound on its own, but comes with virtual instruments that can be used to generate sound, but they must be installed on your Mac or PC.

Q: 8. WILL THIS WORK WITH FRUITY LOOPS 12?

A: Although not tested with FL Studio 12, I suspect it will work (so new). Here is a post from AKAI Pro referencing FL Studio 11:he Akai MPK2 series controllers combine deep software integration, enhanced workflow, and core technologies from the iconic line of MPC workstations. The MPK225, MPK249, and MPK261 are engineered to be all-in-one controller solutions for comprehensive interfacing and manipulation of virtual instruments, effect plugins, DAWs, and more. This articles walks through how to setup the MPK2 series controller with FL Studio 11.a href= http://www.akaipro.com/kb/article/1597 target= _blank http://www.akaipro.com/kb/article/1597/a

Q: 9. can the akai professional mpk minimkii work on my macbook pro with 10.10?

A: Hi! Happy to help! The MPK mini MKII is supported for use on macOS Yosemite 10.10. But, for the best results with the included software, we recommend macOS 10.12 - 10.14.

Q: 10. Anyone have any experience with this and cubase? I am reading mixed things about it's compatibility with Cubase and El Capitan?

A: If you are having issues with the compatibility of these 2 products or are speculating on things you have read. The best thing to do would be to contact Akai support and ask them. As the manufacturer they will have far more accurate information than anyone else.

[OLED Display] I’ve been in the tech industry for many years. As a piece of tech the AE-01 works very well. It sends MIDI to my Mac, iPad, and iPhone, both wirelessly and via USB. USB to iOS needs an adapter from Apple. The iOS app works well. The AE-01 works as a MIDI controller with GarageBand and other apps. It also receives Bluetooth audio from Mac, iPad, and iPhone. It looks well built, like it will last a while.

I am a beginner at wind instruments, with only a little bit of trumpet experience in elementary school. As an instrument the AE-01 works. I can play this thing a little bit, and from my trumpet experience I understand I will need a lot of practice to become competent. I can practice with headphones and not disturb my neighbors. The tutorial on the iPad app is helpful.

One complaint I have is with the mouthpiece. Buying the simpler OP-AE01MP mouthpiece solved that complaint. The AE-01 comes with a mouthpiece like a clarinet or saxophone mouthpiece. It has a plastic “reed” that you can bite down on. Biting the “reed” controls the sound in more expensive models, but does nothing in the AE-01. Using the simple mouthpiece without a reed is much easier for me, and I don’t lose any functionality.

[OLED Display] A fantastic value for the money. From beginner to expert musician can have so much fun and enjoyment with this recorder type instrument. Also great that it uses the recorder base for the fingering and is very intuitive. Being able to change keys, makes it fantastic for playing with transposing instruments.
The 10 different voices : two being oriental instruments the other eight being western add to its flexibility. For instance, the Trumpet voice can be shifted lower so that it sounds and can play the range of the trombone. ,

[1.8 lb / 0.8 kg] Still the best if you want MPC style feel and functions. All the others are imitators.

[1.8 lb / 0.8 kg] I'm gonna put it to you straight: I love this thing.Great things about it? Multiple fingering modes, two banks, rechargeable, wireless with ridiculously low latency (even when battery gets low) and a sound editor software that delivers. Having higher quality sounds compared to EWI4000s is great and being able to layer or octave those sounds without being hooked up to a computer is great for random creativity. For starters, it has a good sound that is actually adaptive to your style of play. I went through the whole of the sound bank and was pleased as I believe it's a true update. There will be uninformed haters out there that will say the sounds are not realistic or sound kazoo-like after listing to samples through a YouTube video, but what they're failing to realize is that it is an EWI, not a reed instrument; and, YouTube sound quality considering the source material and player isn't always that great. The EWI accomplishes everything it set out to and does not misrepresent what it can do in its instruction manual or marketing. I find that if I do a forceful brass hit or a strong blow using the saxophone sounds that there is a distinct difference in how the sound is presented and how it is carried. I find this ability built into the vast majority of sounds I use. These are the great things about the instrument.Areas in need of improvement? Let's see.. some thought that having a wireless MIDI ability would be useful, but honestly, I don't find this that important. Use a cord or acquire a wireless setup that you trust and believe in. Being able to load your own sounds? Get an iPad or a computer, VST library and software and use a cord. Again, I don't find this to be a hang-up. I owned the EWI4000s and did just fine with cords. I did fine then and I'll do fine now.All in all a great buy. Highly recommended. Highly responsive. Highly customizable. And a highly prized member of my instrument collection.

[29.8 x 8.2 x 5"] I work part time at a nonprofit working with handicapped individuals. I started a music program about 5 years ago and since then I have been trying different ways of reaching them with music. This product is perfect on so many levels. First when an individual has limited hand ability, this offers the perfect solution to trigger sounds. I also like the pads lighting up to give positive reinforcement to keep playing. The software that came with it is off the chain, however it was very hard to learn, still trying to learn it, but it's very powerful. I'm talking about MPC Beats, not Ableton. I look forward to seeing them use this all the time in our music classes.

[OLED Display] Use this for small home studio. Nice and clean signal and like I said, built like a tank. Didn't need the stand for home use.
