This is a sub-frequency microphone that utilizies a low-frequency driver based on a classic design from the 1980s. The Kick brings the boom from your instruments out to the forefront, making large-sounding sources sound massive.

The low-frequency driver is the same found in the CLA-10, a recreation of a studio classic. It has a single, continuous press-formed cone to match that classic sound. This allows a much higher level of quality control and consistency during the manufacturing process.

The Kick utilizes a real wooden drum shell, so mounting it on a standard mic stand just won't do. That's why Avantone Pro included a stage-ready, double-braced drum stand. Whether you're in the studio or on the road, the Kick is ready to deliver!

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this monitor be used in Singapore (220V) power system?

A: These monitors are for 110 voltage. A step- down voltage transformer would be required, such as the Sevenstar ST-100 Step Up/Step Down Transformer (100W), BH #SEST100UD.

Q: 2. Will a standard snare drum stand hold this well?

A: Yes,it can hold the standard snare drum stand

Q: 3. are there cables included in this kit?

A: The Pyle Pro PDKM7 does not ship with cables. XLR mic cables are available separately in multiple lengths. Please see the following link for recommendations: a href= http://bhpho.to/1BlZOgX target= _blank http://bhpho.to/1BlZOgX/a

Q: 4. I’ve had these mics for about 2 months now. At first they performed very well, but in the last week or so the three that are on my toms crackle terribly when I hit the tom. This has rendered them unusable for recording. When I take them off the drum and just hold the mic close, this doesn’t happen. Seems like the vibration of the drum is rattling the internals if the mic. Has anyone else had a similar issue or have a suggestion for fixing it?

A: Either way you won't be able to fix it. Either return it or contact the manufacturer about a replacement.

Q: 5. Will the Movi pro need any type of support system for the weight like the others systems do?

A: The M?VI Pro weighs 5.8 pounds and has a load capacity up to 15 pounds. It would is very possible to use this unit handheld and without any additional support. However you may find it beneficial to have a support system to avoid fatigue and to get better shots when using it for a longer period of time. The Steadicam Steadimate 15 (B&H #STSDM15) is a great option to consider.

Q: 6. What is the current draw of the AC power supply?

A: AT this time there isn't much information provided by the manufacturer other than having a 30v input coming from a 130v wall socket.

Q: 7. Are RED Ranger series cameras compatible with the MOVI PRO?

A: no the red Ranger body will be too long for the movi pro. you would have to go up to the Movi XL

Q: 8. This is the second time, the mic is not working properly, I got really low volume signal. The first time it was fixed by itself after a few days but not this time, how can I use the warranty? This microphone was a birthday present and I don't have the invoice

A: Aventone microphones carry a five-year warranty when purchased new. Tel: (845) 642.3697 or info@avantonepro.com However, I would encourage you to give us a call as we may be able to help trouble shoot the mic, and determine whether or not it truly defective. 800-606-6969

Q: 9. Would this mic kit perform well for playing live at small hard rock/metal venues on a 5 piece kit with 3 cymbals and a hi hat?

A: Yes. This kit includes mics for each of the three toms, the snare, and kick, as well as two overheads for the cymbals.

Q: 10. could the BMPCC4K fit on this gimbal?

A: Yes it will.

[Figure-8] I removed the boom arm and attached my tablet holder to the stand. It is a compact unit that is easy to carry to gigs. Just the right height.

[Mono] Compact and light weight. It extends further than most stands of it's type. Seems well made. Great value.

[Solid-State] I usually like using the Shure Beta 52A or the Audix D6, but for the price - this was a great surprise. I haven't done an A/B comparison, but it sounded just like what I would have expected from a 52A. Nice that it comes with a shock mount too. In a whole different league than the inexpensive kick mic it replaced, this blew it away. Recommended without any reservations.

[Solid-State] I purchased this low height drum stand with boom to use for my particular Desk Top Microphone setup.
I can extend the boom fully and it will still support a Rode NT-1 mic with the large, lyre-type Rycote shock basket, if the boom is extended over one of the tripod legs.

[Mono] I needed this for mic'ing several different guitar amps, keeping in mind that the center of the cone on most combo amps is approx. 8 inches from the floor, depending on the amp. The more common straight shorty stands I've tried didn't allowing me to position the mic directly in front of the speaker cone and on axis (esp. since that particular point varies slightly from amp to amp). The fixed height stands were either too short or too tall to hit the center of the cone, and even the ones that telescope a couple of inches tend to be too tall even in the lowest position once the height of the mic clip is factored in. So this mini-boom is the perfect solution. The fact that the base isn't round also allows you to push it closer to the amp. Hardware seems solid, the weight of the base is plenty adequate for an SM-57, and the clips for securing the mic cable to the stand are a nice plus. It's worth noting that the base (although more compact) is heavier than the round bases found on cheap shorty stands, such as the On-Stage brand. One other note. B&H and every other website that sells this stand lists the boom arm's length as 15.75 inches; the actual length is 19.5 inches. Jam Stands must have provided incorrect specs when they first shipped this stand to retailers. I contacted Jam Stands about this, but they refused to do anything about it....I asked if they could send me a shorter boom, such as the 15.75 inch one found on the KD-55. Oh well, still works fine, I just make sure that the boom's length extends inward toward the center of my amp rather than away, so it's less likely to get bumped during gigs. All in all very very happy with this stand. Every other place that sells this stand charges roughly $ !!!

[Side Address] I am very pleased with this small boom stand. While it is a kick drum stand, I plan to use it in confined spaces to move my microphone out of an enclosed area for video recording. I needed a small height stand with a boom, and this will work perfectly!
