SWAM Cello V3 is not a simple recording of notes triggered via sample libraries. It's a virtual cello, digitally modeled to sound real. While a sample library repeats a prerecorded sound, SWAM instruments play for real.

Control the expression of your virtual acoustic instruments, break the limitations of traditional samplers, and benefit from the organic consistency resulting from the endless expressive parameters that are unique to every live performance.

SWAM Cello is a realistic, real-time controllable, and expressive virtual cello. SWAM technology guarantees the same natural reactions as real instruments, letting you compose orchestral pieces or concertos utilizing powerful instruments with natural, fluid expression.

SWAM Cello is an instrument based on physical modeling, making it possible to control the main mechanical variables in real time. For example, the velocity can control the attack of the sound and the portamento time when playing legato. The modulation wheel can control the vibrato and any foot pedal can be assigned to the expression. There is indeed no limit to the number of possible combinations.

SWAM Technology overcomes the limitations that are typical of traditional samplers through a combination of innovative performance techniques and concepts of physical and behavioral modeling, with no samples required.

Choose SWAM Cello for composing, producing, or performing any musical genre by layering it in sections with no artifacts and simply selecting different timbres for each instance.

Control the following parameters in real time via MIDI controllers or your DAW:

  • Expression (dynamic)
  • Note transitions (staccato/legato/portamento) with no key switches
  • Bow pressure
  • Bow position
  • Play mode (bowed, pizzicato, or col legno)
  • Mono vs double polyphony

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I used this with a BMCC 4K for video?

A: Yes, the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head v3 will support the BMCC 4K as long as the payload with the lens is under 5.5 pounds. The BMCC 4K weighs 1.59 pounds, so as long as the added lens is under 3.91 pounds, there will be no issue using the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head v3.

Q: 2. Will this work on a sony a6000?

A: Yes, that will work on a Sony a6000.

Q: 3. What is the difference between vs 2 and vs 3?

A: Edelkrone claims V3 is easier to adjust, so much so that only one hand is needed. The other difference, this has a cheaper list price. However, that was negated by retail pricing. The final difference, the V2 is no longer made so the V3 is what is available.

Q: 4. can this be used in place of the steady module if I want to also do manual slides?

A: From the Overview; " Slide Module v3 also allows you to manually adjust the positions and program the motions of your SliderPLUS (and optional HeadPLUS) by hand."

Q: 5. Can this be powered from a 14.4 Anton bauer battery via the Powertap to LP-E6 adaptor? I use this for Small HD monitors, my camera. It has bigger capacity and less changing batt during long time lapse or sliding shots. I want things to be centralized from a 14.4 slim broadcast battery. What is the amp draw at 9v for this Slide Module v3?

A: Yes you can use a P-tap to LP-E6 adapter to power the Slide module from your Anton Bauer Batteries. it draws 2.2 Amps.

Q: 6. Is it possible to place the capture plate on the lens mount of a 70-200 2.8 for a better balance when using a 5dmkiv and battery grip?

A: Sure can, many folks utilize the lens mount for having the attachment point there rather then both attachment points on the camera body. All about personal preference!

Q: 7. Does this work with a non-Peak Design arca type tripod plate? It doesn't seem to fit.

A: No, its meant for the peak design's plate.

Q: 8. Do you work on it without getting a Peak Design Dual Plate? Manfrotto 200PLQuick Release Plate?

A: If you get the Dual plate, it will work with Manfrotto RC2 system or the Arca Swiss system.

Q: 9. I see that an Allen key is included with the unit. What is the purpose of it, and is it necessary to use it frequently?

A: The included allen keyallows you to loosen or stiffen the joints of the edelkrone FlexTILT Head v3.

Q: 10. What's the top speed the motor will go?

[Yes] This program was a long time coming. I had been an owner of one of the original mid 1960s Compact Combos for many years, until things started to break down. And of course, next to impossible to find parts. Or people that are able and willing to repair them. Some of the modern keyboards do have some of the Farfisa sounds, but in reality, only a small amount of them(like maybe 2 or 3 of them). In reality, there is more of a diverse amount of tones that the Farfisa produced. Even resorted to buying one of the Electro-Harmonix C9 organ emulator pedals, but that still wasn't enough of these particular kinds of tone for me. Then Arturia started coming out with these new virtual instrument programs. The dealers that I normally buy from carried the similar type of Vox Continental program(which would have probably worked fine, and would have settled for it) but knowing that the Farfisa program was also being made, I had to search to see who carried it. No regrets here. All the sounds that I was familiar with, and where they were situated on the virtual keyboard screen. What was interesting that they had the option of effects pedals in this program......and I would always run my Farfisa through a Phase Shifter and/or a Flanger when I had it. Also learned a few things that I did not know about my original instrument. There used to be this one controller that stuck out of the bottom, that you controlled with your knee. When I bought my original Farfisa(used, back in the mid-70s), that knee controller was missing, and it was something I never noticed. So, a bit more historical and technical information on the instrument you played regularly---but didn't know about. It's easy to get a keyboard that has the piano, Rhodes, and Hammond sounds, to name a few......but nobody seemed to get the Farfisa sounds right. Until now. Great timing, on the part of Arturia!

[15 MB ] Ive only scratched the surface of Emotional Violins features, but it already has proven useful in two recent projects. It sits well in the mix on top of other orchestra string libraries. It has more than two dozen articulations that gives it a realistic sound. Well done.

[Yes] I've worked with many saxophone players and I played woodwind instruments. Not saying that I am an expert but I do have some experience with wind instruments. I am keyboardists with years of working with sampled saxophones. The samples have become better over the years but SWAM physical modeling is superior for duplicating the nuances and articulations of a real sax player. The only weak link is me. I need to think sax and not keyboardist when I use the SWAM plugin. My wife is a musician and when I would try to emulate a sax she would say 'that doesn't sound real'. Then I let her listen to a song with the SWAM Sax she said 'WOW, that's not you you're trying to fool me'. You won't be sorry with the SWAM Sax Virtual Instrument.

[Standard] Been a fan since the first release of this software (Atmosphere). I love how user-friendly the interface has become -- you now have a preset pane adjacent to the synth. I've grown to work Omnisphere 1 so fast, that I slipped right into Omnisphere 2 without any qualms. Procuring the kind of 'patches' I hear in my head is easier with the new sound match feature too... And so many patches, you'll find a new fav every day. If you really want to take advantage of this release, pick up an SSD because you won't have a lifetime to go through all the patches.
