SWAM Engine digitally handcrafted acoustic instruments are never a simple recording of notes via sample libraries, but rather a set of real virtual instruments based on their traditional counterparts. While a sample library repeats a prerecorded sound, SWAM instruments play for real.

Control the expression of your virtual acoustic instruments, break the limitations of traditional samplers, and benefit from the organic consistency resulting from the endless expressive parameters that are unique to every live performance.

SWAM Violin V3 is a realistic, real-time-controllable, and expressive virtual violin. SWAM technology guarantees the same natural reactions as real instruments, letting you compose orchestral pieces or concertos utilizing powerful instruments with natural, fluid expression.

SWAM Violin V3 is an instrument based on physical modeling, making it possible to control the main mechanical variables in real time. For example, the velocity can control the attack of the sound and the portamento time when playing legato. The modulation wheel can control the vibrato and any foot pedal can be assigned to the expression. There is indeed no limit to the number of possible combinations.

SWAM Technology overcomes the limitations that are typical of traditional samplers through a combination of innovative performance techniques and concepts of physical and behavioral modeling, with no samples required.

Choose SWAM Violin V3 for composing, producing, or performing any musical genre by layering it in sections with no artifacts and simply selecting different timbres for each instance.

Control the following parameters in real time via MIDI controllers or your DAW:

  • Expression (dynamic)
  • Note transitions (staccato/legato/portamento) with no key switches
  • Bow pressure
  • Bow position
  • Play mode (bowed, pizzicato, or col legno)
  • Mono vs double polyphony
  • Vibrato depth
  • Vibrato rate
  • Tremolo on/off
  • Tremolo speed
  • Harmonics
  • Portamento time
  • Portamento split point (across strings)
  • Attack speed
  • Dynamic transitions
  • Sordino on/off
  • String preferred selection
  • Alternate fingering
  • Bow lift and bow start (up/down)
  • Sustain
  • Microtuning
  • Main volume
  • Pan pot
  • Reverb mix

Tired of giga-sized libraries of prerecorded audio and the limitations of traditional samplers? SWAM Violin V3 is the solution. It was developed using Audio Modeling's proprietary SWAM-S engine, a powerful physical-modeling technology derived from the digital waveguides approach.

Real-time controllable via MIDI controllers, SWAM Violin V3 requires only the smallest footprint to create the perfect organic consistency resulting from the endless expressive parameters that are unique to every live performance.

Q: 1. Will this work on a sony a6000?

A: Yes, that will work on a Sony a6000.

Q: 2. I see that an Allen key is included with the unit. What is the purpose of it, and is it necessary to use it frequently?

A: The included allen keyallows you to loosen or stiffen the joints of the edelkrone FlexTILT Head v3.

Q: 3. What is the difference between vs 2 and vs 3?

A: Edelkrone claims V3 is easier to adjust, so much so that only one hand is needed. The other difference, this has a cheaper list price. However, that was negated by retail pricing. The final difference, the V2 is no longer made so the V3 is what is available.

[Yes] I've worked with many saxophone players and I played woodwind instruments. Not saying that I am an expert but I do have some experience with wind instruments. I am keyboardists with years of working with sampled saxophones. The samples have become better over the years but SWAM physical modeling is superior for duplicating the nuances and articulations of a real sax player. The only weak link is me. I need to think sax and not keyboardist when I use the SWAM plugin. My wife is a musician and when I would try to emulate a sax she would say 'that doesn't sound real'. Then I let her listen to a song with the SWAM Sax she said 'WOW, that's not you you're trying to fool me'. You won't be sorry with the SWAM Sax Virtual Instrument.

[Upgrade] Omnisphere 1 was an investment I have never never regretted. It is one that has kept giving back something. Omnisphere 2 continues to provide practically endless options. The new sounds and ability to import your own samples are very useful but I might have felt the top 5-10 presets fulfilled my investment. I wish I felt this way about some other musical gear I purchased.

[Yes] While it would have been more accurate to refer to this as dot 1.6 update, nonetheless, the added features are welcome - including ability to import and manage your own audio. There are so many presets that you will probably never run out of source material to begin your own sound design.

[Upgrade] It's not a big sample library but the bell tones are excellent! I could not find a comparable library for this type of bell sound from the other big name sample library companies, so this fills a niche missed by others.

[Yes] This program was a long time coming. I had been an owner of one of the original mid 1960s Compact Combos for many years, until things started to break down. And of course, next to impossible to find parts. Or people that are able and willing to repair them. Some of the modern keyboards do have some of the Farfisa sounds, but in reality, only a small amount of them(like maybe 2 or 3 of them). In reality, there is more of a diverse amount of tones that the Farfisa produced. Even resorted to buying one of the Electro-Harmonix C9 organ emulator pedals, but that still wasn't enough of these particular kinds of tone for me. Then Arturia started coming out with these new virtual instrument programs. The dealers that I normally buy from carried the similar type of Vox Continental program(which would have probably worked fine, and would have settled for it) but knowing that the Farfisa program was also being made, I had to search to see who carried it. No regrets here. All the sounds that I was familiar with, and where they were situated on the virtual keyboard screen. What was interesting that they had the option of effects pedals in this program......and I would always run my Farfisa through a Phase Shifter and/or a Flanger when I had it. Also learned a few things that I did not know about my original instrument. There used to be this one controller that stuck out of the bottom, that you controlled with your knee. When I bought my original Farfisa(used, back in the mid-70s), that knee controller was missing, and it was something I never noticed. So, a bit more historical and technical information on the instrument you played regularly---but didn't know about. It's easy to get a keyboard that has the piano, Rhodes, and Hammond sounds, to name a few......but nobody seemed to get the Farfisa sounds right. Until now. Great timing, on the part of Arturia!

[Yes] Been a fan since the first release of this software (Atmosphere). I love how user-friendly the interface has become -- you now have a preset pane adjacent to the synth. I've grown to work Omnisphere 1 so fast, that I slipped right into Omnisphere 2 without any qualms. Procuring the kind of 'patches' I hear in my head is easier with the new sound match feature too... And so many patches, you'll find a new fav every day. If you really want to take advantage of this release, pick up an SSD because you won't have a lifetime to go through all the patches.

[Upgrade] Ive only scratched the surface of Emotional Violins features, but it already has proven useful in two recent projects. It sits well in the mix on top of other orchestra string libraries. It has more than two dozen articulations that gives it a realistic sound. Well done.
