This 75 x 100mm Urth Soft-Edge Graduated ND Filter 75x100mm 3-Stopfrom Urth Soft-Edge Graduated ND Filter 75x100mm 3-Stopis a rectangular filter that darkens specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the remainder of the image area. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle, with a soft-edged line of transition between the dense and clear areas. This soft-edge design is appropriate for use with images that feature a prominent horizon, or any soft transition between sky and land, like wooded landscapes and cityscapes. This filter provides a 3-stop reduction in light from entering the lens and does not affect the coloration of the image.

Constructed from Schott optical glass for clarity and color fidelity, this filter features 20-layers of nano multi-coating to reduce potential glare and lens flare. This filter is 2mm thick and fits the Urth 75mm Filter System, plus other 75mm-wide filter holder systems.

Q: 1. Hey guys/gals! I have the 82mm on a sony GMaster 24-70mm 2.8. I mainly got it for shooting video becasue slog has a minimum iso of 800 so I needed to reduce the light. Everything seemed to be working perfectly for awhile but now I'm starting to notice some vignetting in the corners when I'm at 24mm. It's very slight when shooting video but pretty bad when I'm shooting photos. What's goin on?? Anyone else with a similar experience or did I just not notice it before for some reason?...

A: That is true and why I sent it back. Get the Schneider 82mm True-Match Vari-ND Filter instead. It does not do that due to it's type of construction. Although more money, it is worth it.

Q: 2. Do you think I would get vignetting if I used this on a 10mm with a 77mm filter thread and a step up ring?

A: I suspect you would get 'some' vignetting, but don't have actual experience with this combination.

Q: 3. Has anyone used this filter with the DJI X5 camera? If so, how is the color fidelity? Is there any specific color cast? Thank you.

A: B+W make very high quality filters. This will give you a great performance when used on lens with the X5.

Q: 4. The specs for the B+W 95mm Xs-Pro ND Vario filter show that the front filter size is also 95mm. However, for all other sizes the front filter size is larger than the back side that screws on to the lens. Can someone please confirm that the front threads for the 95mm model are also 95mm as in the specs or wider like the picture suggests? Thanks.

A: definitely not!! the rear thread of the filter is 95mm, however the front thread of the filter is 105mm

Q: 5. Can you screw the B+W 77mm Kaesemann XS-Pro Circular Polarizer MRC Nano Filter on the front of this ND Vario?

A: I Can screw my B+W 77mm XS-Por ND-Vario 1-5 MRC nano into a NIKON 77mm Circular Polar 77mm filter and screw that on to my camera lens. The B+W XS-Pro does not have threads on its front side.McKinley

Q: 6. Is this a hard stop filter where it goes from 2 to 5 and then it can't proceed further ?

A: The rotation of the filter is smooth. It does not click as you rotate it. It also stops rotating once you reach the maximum or minimum density.

Q: 7. Is this filter compatible with Lee Filters Foundation Kit (Standard 4x4") B&H # LEFK ?

A: Yes, this filter will fit with the Lee Filter Foundation Kit.

Q: 8. Will this filter work in the Lee Holder?

A: The filters I use fit in the Cokin Size P holder - that is 84mmx120mm - there are several sizes available so be aware of the sizes. Also stacking these neutral density filters can add a slight magenta hue to color images - that is due to the new environmentally friendly chemicals used in the dyeing process. This is something that can be corrected in post processing

Q: 9. Will this fit canon drop in filters?

A: No, Neewer EF to EOS R Mount Adapter with Variable ND Filter (1.5-9 Stop) uses a properitary drop in filter.

Q: 10. Can this variable B+W ND be stacked with a B+W ND 10-Stop filter in order to achieve a 13-15 Stop result?

A: Yes, but shooting thru several pieces of glass will reduce image quality.

[Glass] This is a big, heavy, tough filter. I think this will be the last ND filter I will ever buy. Kinda surprised how thick 4mm is. Wouldn't shock me if it was bullet proof. Glad I went with the glass filter, I had plastic filters ,they are cheap, but scratches too easily.

[Glass] A well-made filter. Note that 0.6ND is really light. Filtered area has a very slight warm tint.

[Glass] I take a lot of landscape pictures. Lately I have been taking ocean view pictures in the evening and had big contrast issues - bright sky and dark foreground. I had the camera checked out and everything was to spec. HDR mode and Software couldn't correct the problem so I tried the Tiffen Graduated ND filter which solved the problem perfectly. Pictures are much better balanced.

[Glass] I bought this product for taking pictures of the Grand Canyon. There is marked difference between the canyon exposure and the sky. The sky is much brighter than the canyon landscape. Also there is very define edge between the top of the canyon and the sky. This will prevent over-exposing the sky and keeping a very good balance between the two, the top 1/3 of the image and the bottom 2/3rds. This does it job and saves post editing work

[Glass] Thank You for your excellent service. The ND filter arrived and was to be a gift, so use hasn't occurred yet. I just like B&H- rather than some of the other vendors. Sincerely, C.

[Glass] I use this filter for scenery photography, where part of the area to be photographed is over exposed. I can't image going in the field with this filter.
