[2 x NATO Rails] Kondor Blue is the brand I prefer for all my camera rigging. They are well built, durable, and stay super secure in rugged environments. I primarily do sports video work and so these things need to keep my stuff in place at all times. I haven’t got time to fiddle diddle with attachments.

[2 x NATO Rails] I own and love many Kondor Blue products, and the Talon Top Handle has to be one of my favorites. I'm surprised no one has reviewed this thing yet. In a seemingly endless sea of camera rig brands and products, this handle stands out for it's clever design and superb functionality. It's a little heavier than some similar-sized handles, but it feels nice and compact. By putting the vertical support between your first and middle fingers, you have a grip that feels more secure. I have medium-sized hands, and my hand fits the split design perfectly. If you have big ol' bear paws, your pinkie may hang off the end. The firm but rubbery pad is comfortable. There is an excellent variety of mounting options that includes a 1/4-20 mount, two 1/4-20 mounts with locating pins, a 3/8 mount with locating pins, two combo 3/8 mounts with locating pins and 1/4-20 inserts, two cold shoes and two NATO lengths. And, a built-in wrench and a bubble level. I own two of these for my R5C and C70 cameras. In my humble opinion, one of the best-designed top handles out there.

[0.54 lb] I've looked at all other top plates. This one not only looks sleek to impress my clients, but on the C70, this lets me add a Hdmi Transmitter and Rode Audio reciever while still rocking a shotgun mic. Top handle hand space is still not compromised. I can't imagine loving it anymore then I do.

[0.54 lb] Add more mounting points to your C70 without adding bulk to rig. The Arri locking threads are a nice touch and make adding a arm/handle very easy and it looks cool!

[2 x NATO Rails] I was using another name brand top plate - well made, but it blocked some controls. The Kondor system is very well planned to add function without limiting access. I typically use an external monitor and a shotgun mic, or a wireless mic...sometimes both. This system gives me better mounting points. The only negative is that the HDMI protector was too narrow to allow any of my cables to connect. I will just do without that u til the time is right to replace a cable.

[0.54 lb] I've used two other cages on a C70 on two ends of the budget spectrum - a Bright Tangerine half cage setup ($1,000+) and a Tilta full cage setup ($100), both great for different reasons. I decided I needed a minimalist setup that kept the weight down to a bare minimum. I was nervous about leaving a $5,000 investment unprotected, but eventually dove in and bought this skeletal cage. I love it.


There's not much to say about the baseplate, because there's not much to it either. It offers mounting points on three sides and has an HDMI bracket to protect your HDMI from being twisted or bent. It isn't a locking HDMI protector, keep that in mind. In my opinion, this is a more elegant solution. Fewer moving parts, and it does it's job. It's not there to prevent an HDMI from getting pulled out, it's there to prevent bending or twisting damage to your HDMI cable and the C70's HDMI port.


The side plate was a question mark for me, and still is to a degree. I removed my C70's hand strap a while back since the only thing it was good at was being a sweat collector. I installed the side plate and... I kinda like it? I don't see myself attaching much to it, but it's attractive, it'll be functional if the need ever arises, and it's surprisingly comfortable.


The top plate is fantastic. Since it attaches to both the top shoe and the sensor plane marker mounting points, and feels nice and secure. It offers the combination of mounting points I need for my setup. I opted for the cage-only bundle since I already own the awesome Kondor Blue Talon handle that I love.

[0.54 lb] If you are looking for a top plate for the Canon EOS C70, look no further. This thing is a rock. Using the two screws deal to secure to the top is, in my own words, legit. The plate feels super secure, does not block any essential functions, and the metal doesn't bleed like Tilta's. This was a must for me since I travel with the C70. In humid climates, Tilta's coating starts coming off and gets caked in sweaty hands. Not an issue here. I recommend this product.
