The dark lead Rite in Rain Mechanical Pencil Lead Refill Medium HB Darkhas an extra-long length that is meant to last an extended amount of time. These leads fit in No. 13 and No. 15 mechanical pencils. They are fine enough to accurately write and record details while being thick enough to hold up in inclement conditions.

A: Either the medium or large would be a half-decent choice, but it'll be up to your preference. The medium should fit snugly and can also be used cinched half-way on the hood rather than all the way. The large can be semi-scrunched up in order to accommodate a slightly shorter lens.

[Dark Lead Black] This is meant to be used with the all-weather pen. It does not work well with other types of pens. The pad itself is exactly what you'd expect it to be. It repels water beautifully. 5

[0.035 lb] Absolutely love this new pencil! Had an original Rite in the Rain pencil that broke - this is 100X better. Thick leads that don't break and the pencil itself is solid with some weight to it. So happy that I bought 2 more for my truck and wife's car. 5

[Dark Lead Black] I've owned several of these over the years to take on backpacking trips, campouts, long distant bike rides, and other outdoor activity. They always hold up in the elements. I keep this in my camera bag along with a pencil to record information on various photo shoots. Make sure you have the Rite in the Rain pen if you want to use a pen to write on this 'paper.' If you want to use a mech. pencil, any will do. 5

[0.035 lb] Just the right size to fit in your pocket and the pages are very robust when wet. I find this actually encourages me to make more notes quickly re settings, conditions during photography to name a few. Excellent product. 5
