Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. How could I replace the internal XLR cable?

A: Please contact K-Tek directly for repair: K-Tek: Tel: 760-727-0593 Email info@ktekpro.com

Q: 2. Whats the benefit of Graphite over Carbon Fiber?

A: Apart from how it looks on the surface, the K-Tek KEG-150CCR Avalon Series Graphite Boompole with Internal Coiled XLR Cable will not provide noticeable benefits over a similar boom pole that is made of carbon fiber. Weight, durability, and strength are not much different between the two materials.

Q: 3. Has this been tested on any of the iPad Pros with the USB-C port?

A: There is no evidence that this product has been tested with i Pad Pros. Suggest contacting the manufacturer before buying: Website http://www.comica-audio.com/ Email support@comica-audio.com

Q: 4. Will this work between a mixing board and an android smartphone? Using an auxiliary output from the mixer

A: No, this cable is intended for connecting a dynamic microphone with the input on a smartphone. Since you will be connecting the output from a mixer, which is a louder line level signal (not mic level), you will need to use an attenuator (level matching) cable that will pad the line level signal from the mixer and make it compatible with the mic level input on a smartphone. If you will be connecting from a mixer's XLR output, you will want to send both the left and right output signals so you will need a cable like the Sescom SES-43DB-# 43 dB Pad DSLR Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2XJ) combined with a USB-C adapter such as the Apple USB Type-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APMU7E2AMA) to convert the 3.5mm TRS plug to USB-C. If you have other output options on the mixer, such as RCA (Tape output), you can use the Sescom SES-43DB-# 43 dB Pad DSLR Attenuating Line to Mic Level Cable - 18" (B&H # SES43DBMZ2P). Please

Q: 5. would this work well splitting a microphone? Or is it only meant for Line level signals.

A: Yes you can split a microphone using the Sescom SES-XLR-ABC.

Q: 6. How long is the attached cable?

A: The attached cable for the SonicPresence SP15 PRO On-Ear XLR Binaural Microphone is 3.3-feet (1-meter) long.

Q: 7. what capsules are inserted in these microphones? could it be primo em272? or something similar?

A: Sonic Presence does not publish the specific model or part number information for the capsule used in the SonicPresence SP15 PRO On-Ear XLR Binaural Microphone for Spatial Audio. The following specifications are provided for the microphones: Sensor Matching +/- 0.5dB Flat Frequency response 20Hz to 20kHz Low Distortion, Low Handling Noise Dynamic Range 114dB Sensitivity: -35dB (18mV/Pascal) Maximum SPL: 130dB.

Q: 8. are there any furry type wind protectors for these mics? The auray windscreens don't do much

A: There is no fluffy windscreen specifically designed for the SonicPresence SP15 PRO On-Ear XLR Binaural Microphones, but something such as BH #RY65521 if cut to size.

Q: 9. Is the SP15 Pro compatible with the Zoom F3?

A: Yes, the SonicPresence SP15 PRO On-Ear XLR Binaural Microphone for Spatial Audio can be used with the Zoom F3 2-Input / 2-Track Portable Field Recorder to capture binaural audio through the dual phantom-powered XLR inputs on the F3.

Q: 10. The screw at the top of my boom pole has broken off in the shock mount. Is it possible to buy a replacement top screw for this boom pole?

A: K-Tek does offer replacement parts for their boom poles but B&H does not have the correct part available. You should be able to get it directly through K-Tek. You can reach them by phone at 760-727-0593 or by email at info@ktekpro.com. Their offices are located in Vista, California.

[23 AWG] If you're looking for a true professional 44BX sound, look no further! I was amazed at the sound and quality. Insides with the exception of transformer, look identical to the legendary 44BX. Why spend $3000 to $5000 for a similar looking replica when you can buy this for under $1000? I've already bought 2 and love them! I'm a professional broadcaster and voice-over announcer with 50+ years of broadcast experience.

[0.7 lb] After letting it warm up for an hour I sang into it for the first time and the tones it captured (through a UAD Neve preamp) brought a tear to my eye. It's like this mic was made just for me; I've never sounded better.

It's great on my jumbo Guild acoustic, too. I'm looking forward to putting this mic through the paces in the studio over the next few months.

Packaging is great. Build quality is great. Tone and character is amazing. On one hand I feel like I don't need any more mics in my collection after this, but on the other hand I'm really curious to check out more of Warm Audio's products... I think maybe another mic or two and some rack gear wouldn't hurt.

[Black] I did a good bit of research and am glad I decided on the Warm Audio WA-47 tube microphone. Great addition for my home studio. I'm using it for both music production and voice over. Interfacing with ART Voice Channel. Love the rich smooth sound. No limitations, complaints or areas for improvement.

[0.7 lb] The WA76 is not supposed to sound exactly like the modern UA 1176LN as another review has highlighted. The WA76 is an exact replica of the Urei 1176 revision D that was produced in the early 1970s. The current UA 117LN is an amalgamation of revisions C, D, & E. These revisions have minor differences in circuitry dealing with low noise and distortion. The WA76 and UA 1176LN are essentially the same beast, but since they are produced with slightly different circuitry designs, one will hear very subtle sonic variations between the two. Which one you like more is a matter of preference.
