The Buffalo Technology 4TB Replacement Hard Drive comes preinstalled in a custom housing that makes it compatible with your TeraStation 7120R storage solution. The housing enables quick replacement or upgrade of an existing drive within the storage system. In addition, the enterprise-class drive is designed to operate in always-on environments and comes equipped with a SATA interface, which offers transfer rates of up to 6 Gb/s.

A: According to the manufacture, the Buffalo 8TB DriveStation Duo should work with larger drive sizes, but they have not tested it with any drives other than the ones that ship with the enclosure, so there is currently no hard line spec on larger drive capacity, and, they also have said that removing the origional drives may void the warranty, so while we believe you could use 18TB drives in this enclosure, it may not be the best enclosure for the job.

A: Buffalo TeraStation 32TB 5810DN is not listed as TAA compliant.

A: NAS are mostly OS agnostic and can in most cases be used with any OS.

[4 TB] Have had this for a few weeks now and I've had no issues with it. I'm using it for keeping all my photos and videos in one place and not spread out over several devices. I also want to get rid of remove cloud subscriptions and have everything in one place. I'll eventually add the other hard drives as the need arises. I'm very happy with the purchase. It's my first NAS and things were easy to set up. 5

[ 3.5" HDD ] Set up as a 4TB available RAID 1 and it has excellent data transfer speeds as well as data security. As always, B&H pricing was tops! 5

[4 TB] Would have paid nearly the same amount of money buying just the disk drives. This package is great. Plug and play. Easy to switch between Raid 0 and Raid 1. If you need disk space this is a great way to get it. 5

[4 TB] How excited can you get about a hard drive -- unless your NAS Raid array loses a drive. After calling Buffalo (manufacturer of the NAS unit), they gave me the specs for the replacement. I was very happy to see B&H among the online retailers that handle these, and extremely happy, but not surprised, that B&H had a great price. Some vendors matched B&H but none beat B&H. The NAS unit is back up and running great. 5
