Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this as a triple midi usb to din converter? I mean, using three usb midi controllers at same time sending to different midi din outs

A: Unfortunately not.

Q: 2. I have a rodecaster, and I want to be able to feed Zoom audio during my livestream out USB, into this box, out through the TRS, and into a mic input on the Rodecaster. Will that work?

A: Yes you can do that. I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but if you are trying to allow communication between the mics connected to the Rodecaster Pro and Zoom; a much simpler solution would be to connect the Rodecaster Pro to the computer that you are using Zoom on via USB and then go to Preferences--- Sound and select the Rodecaster Pro as your audio input/output device for the computer. From there, anyone using mics connected to the Rodecaster Pro should be able to communicate with the caller(s) that you have on Zoom.

Q: 3. Is it still possible to ignore the dedicated DI and instead use the 2 mic/line pres for 2 separate electric guitars? Can the 2 inputs be used as instrument inputs like the Motu M2?

A: Just one instrument input: "This unit may look tiny, but it packs two pristine mic pres, a Hi-Z input for instruments, two 1/4" monitor outputs, and a headphone out that can power a variety of cans with power and punch." Analog I/O: 2 x Combo XLR-1/4" TRS Balanced Mic/Line Input 1 x 1/4" TS Unbalanced Hi-Z Input 1 x 1/4" TRS Unbalanced Headphone Output 2 x 1/4" TRS Balanced Monitor Output

Q: 4. Does this digitize analog? How if not digital output? Analog I/O 2 x RCA Line Input 2 x 1/4" (6.3 mm) TRS Balanced Line Output Digital I/O None

A: If I understand your question correctly, the answer is res it does indeed digitize analog. It takes your analog in and converts it to digital and utilizes the USB to interface the 24bit / 96kHz digital signal with your Mac or PC Computer. Other than the USB for digital, It does not sport another digital input/output such as optical, hence why Digital I/O is None.

Q: 5. Please advise if you can comfortably say that the ESI Maya 44 is a direct replacement to M-Audio Delta 1010LT PC Sound Card. If not, can you suggest any other manufacturer that may have the same benefits as the M-Audio's; or advise the difference(s) between the ESI & M-Audio products mentioned above. Thank you?

A: This card is not a direct replacement for the Delta card in several ways; not the least of which is that the output of the MAYA44 is unbalanced high impedance low level line audio, versus the balanced low impedance high level output of the Delta 1010. I had about a dozen of the Delta series and have tried several replacements for it since being discontinued by M-Audio. This card works in place of a Delta 44, but with the understanding that the outputs are not fully compatible in level and impedance. As for a direct replacement of the Delta series cards, there is nothing I have found in a buss card (several USB options out there) anywhere in this price point. Obviously, Audio Science and Digigram makes exact replacement boards, but at 10x the price.

Q: 6. Can it send USB MIDI to an iOS device over its host ports?

A: If you iOs devices uses USB 3.1, then yes. But if you have a newer machine with lightning or thunderbolt, then no.

Q: 7. So, I could use the two stereo inputs to record 4-channels from an analog source?

A: Yes, the ESI Maya44 eX 4-In/4-Out PCIe Audio Interface can be used to record four channels of audio from an analog source.

Q: 8. Can this be used to connect a computer(running ProPresenter) to a lighting controller(separate hardware)?

A: Yes, the ESI M4U eX 8-Port USB 3.1 Gen 1 MIDI Interface with USB Hub could be used to connect a lighting controller operating over standard 5-Pin MIDI protocol to a computer running a specific, correlating software.

Q: 9. How many channels is the S/PDIF input?

A: The ESI Maya44 eX 4-In/4-Out PCIe Audio Interface has a single S/PDIFoptical input channel.

Q: 10. Is this compatable with the Acer ATC604 Desktop computer?

A: The ESI Maya44 eX is compatible for use with desktop computers that have a Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, or 10 operating system, 2 GB RAM, and an available USB port.

[USB Bus Power] Better than my Mio.
The stock Win10 drivers are only good for like 49 key or something lame. The optional divers from ESI allow the full 88 keys. Just something to be aware of.

[USB Bus Power] I recently purchased the ESI Maya44 eX 4-In/4-Out PCIe Audio Interface from B&H Photo Video, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. As a music producer and sound engineer, the quality and performance of my audio interface are of utmost importance, and the Maya44 eX has exceeded my expectations on all fronts.

[Internal] So far this card is amazing. The quietness of it, the solid feel of it, especially when plugging in the 1/4, very happy.

[USB Bus Power] This little Midi Box is a welcome addition to my Midi Configuration Studio needs. At first I was reluctant to purchase it because I felt it was a bit expensive for a Midi Interface... but it is worth it. Here's why

Pros
Excellent Build Quality, solid top grade materials and it looks good
Works without the need for driver installation, so easy plug and play
8 Standard 5 Pin Midi Ports Plus 3 USB 3.0 Ports and a USB Host Port which gives me lots of options for all of my gear
Automatic signal detection is great. Allows each MIDI port to work as an input or output
LED Indicator Lights let you know what's going on
In Standalone (without a computer) there are 3 modes with a dedicated Mode Selector, 1 Midi In to 7 Outs, MIDI thru and MIDI merge configurations
You can use it as a Stand Alone or USB Host mode
Ships with USB Cable and 5V Power Supply, yes they include a power supply!

Cons
Price but NOT really this is one well built, powerful Midi Interface that is loaded with Connection and Interface Options. I think it is worth the money for what it offers.

[USB Bus Power] While other bands are lugging around massive ProTool rigs for live show tracks, this thing is feeding vocal doubles, loop tracks and clicks from an 11.6 laptop to stadiums for us. Fidelity is incredible. Durability is amazing. Reliability is rock solid. I've never had a single crash (try making that claim about any other interface) Bonus that it includes its own ASIO 2.0 drivers for the fastest VSTi response and audio recording latency of any interface I own. Combined with four
dbx DJdi 2-Channel direct boxes, and it's the cleanest, smallest, lightest, strongest, most impressive pro live rig on the market.

[Internal] I only use the digital in and out. I would not compromise with the analog section. The speed is amazing. No latency. Perfect to combine it with my digital hardware.

[USB Bus Power] I run two computers connected to a Yamaha MG12 for VO and broadcast work as well as spoken-word production. Thus, I need two interfaces. I don't need all the midi and various in- and out-put controls, just the converters. You can't beat this for the money. Just plug it in and you're up an running.

[Internal] Just plug and play on my old iMac running 10.15.7. If you need a good midi cable for older gear and don't want mess around with bulk of your MOTU interface - go with this.

[USB Bus Power] The card is everything that I expected, and exactly what I needed. PCIe studio quality audio cards are hard to find now a days because of the emphasis on USB devices. To overcome USB latency issues I prefer the PCIe internal card for my home studio recording use. This card performs beautifully and at an affordable price point. It is easily $500-$600 below the price of the next option available. I highly recommend it and B&H came through for me in a professional and expedient manner.
