A: Yes, there is a locking mechanism for the Leofoto QS-45 Quick-Link Tripod Head Quick Release Set (45mm). When one drops the connecting plate on the receiver base, one then turns the ring on the receiver base clockwise to lock the plate in place. To unlock, simply turn the ring counter clockwise. This is similar to the Arca-Swiss Quick-Link but they run in different sizes. The QS-45 is 45mm and much smaller than the Arca-Swiss Quick-Link size.

Q: 5. I have a Vanguard VT-548B. Would this plate work with it?

A: This quick release is not compatible with the VT-548B. This tripod uses the QS-03 quick release plate, which has unfortunately been discontinued by the manufacturer.

A: QS-03 is not a tripod or head but a number for a qr plate that has been discontinued and no longer available.

[1.65" / 42 mm] This makes swapping tripod heads quick and easy. And its secure. I've had heads rotate on the mounting screw because I was unable to tighten them enough and I've struggled to remove a head to swap heads when changing from ball head to gimbal or vice versa. Previously i had to use a strap wrench to solve these problems. Now its just twist open, swap, and twist closed. 5

[1.65" / 42 mm] I saw this recommended to fit between my Move Shoot Move star tracker and the ballhead under my camera body. It solves the problem of the ballhead directly on the MSM coming loose as it rotates throughout the evening. I use the set screws on the undreside of the QS-50 to get a tighter connection on the MSM. So far I have been using it to do longer sub frames and for up to two hours without any problems. 5

[1.65" / 42 mm] Works as expected. My main reason for loving this plate is the screw has a D ring attached which allows me to tighten it to my camera or bracket by hand. The previous version did not have a D ring and I had to fumble around for a stubby screwdriver I kept in my bag to tighten it. This version 2 plate is much superior in my opinion. 5

[3/8"-16] It is very well made. This Quick Release Set makes switch among Gimbal, Fluid, and Ball heads very quick. The lock ring is easy to use and secure. 5

[4 x 3.1 x 2.1"] With both a ball head and a gimbal swapping heads is a pain. Getting them tight is a problem. This solves both those problems. 5

[1.65" / 42 mm] This Quick Link system is fantastic. For those using multiple heads, such as a video fluid head and a photo head, you can mount the plates to the bottom of each head and put the base on the tripod and lock it in tight with quick turn of the base. Just buy the corresponding size that matches your tripod base. This works great with my LeoFoto 364C Tripod and my BV-10 and G4 Tripod heads. 5

[0.165 lb] Decided to get a second Release Plate since the first one works so well. Glad I did. Now have one for the camera and once for the long lens. 5
