Q: 4. Would the disc and receiver set be required when using the Arca-Swiss Monoball p0 Ball Head with Classic Quick Release?

A: Yes, the Arca-Swiss Quick-Link Tripod Head Quick Release Set is needed in order to quickly release the Arca-Swiss Quick-Link Tripod Head Quick Release Set from the tripod legs. The Quick-Link disc mounts on the base of any tripod head, and the receiver to the mounting plate mounts on the leg set. Then simply place the head assembly into the receiver and twist the knurled, bayonet-type locking ring to secure it in place. Additional disc mounts are available, so switching heads takes just moments - making working with multiple heads quick and easy.

Q: 5. Hi. The specs say 50mm, where exactly is that measured ? the top circle part or does the 50mm include the grips ? Thank You.

Q: 8. How much weight can this support perpendicular two its normal axis, such as with a tripod slung over someone's shoulder?

Q: 9. Regarding the locking mechanism .... When placing the head on the tripod, does the cameral have to be turned to lock it in place or does the 'locking ring' get turned to lock down the head to the tripod? Can the camera then be turned and accidentally unlock the head from the tripod?

A: To lock the head you rotate the base of the Arca-Swiss Quick-Link Tripod Head Quick Release Set. Not the head. It locks in so you can no unlock by accident.

Q: 10. What is it?

A: From Arca-Swiss's website: Combining a mounting plate for the tripod and an insert plate that attaches to the tripod head. Attaching and detaching the tripod head becomes a snap. The installed plates can thus be left permanently on the tripod or on the tripod head. By means of a solid bayonet, the tripod head with its insert plate is placed in the mounting plate and securely fixed by a knurled rotating ring.

[0.46 lb] This Quick Link system is fantastic. For those using multiple heads, such as a video fluid head and a photo head, you can mount the plates to the bottom of each head and put the base on the tripod and lock it in tight with quick turn of the base. Just buy the corresponding size that matches your tripod base. This works great with my LeoFoto 364C Tripod and my BV-10 and G4 Tripod heads.

[2.92 oz / 83 g] I saw this recommended to fit between my Move Shoot Move star tracker and the ballhead under my camera body. It solves the problem of the ballhead directly on the MSM coming loose as it rotates throughout the evening. I use the set screws on the undreside of the QS-50 to get a tighter connection on the MSM. So far I have been using it to do longer sub frames and for up to two hours without any problems.

[3/8"-16] It is very well made. This Quick Release Set makes switch among Gimbal, Fluid, and Ball heads very quick. The lock ring is easy to use and secure.

[0.46 lb] This makes swapping tripod heads quick and easy. And its secure. I've had heads rotate on the mounting screw because I was unable to tighten them enough and I've struggled to remove a head to swap heads when changing from ball head to gimbal or vice versa. Previously i had to use a strap wrench to solve these problems. Now its just twist open, swap, and twist closed.

[2.92 oz / 83 g] This set does for tripods what quick release did for heads. Very easy to change between heads.

[2.92 oz / 83 g] With both a ball head and a gimbal swapping heads is a pain. Getting them tight is a problem. This solves both those problems.
