The CBS250-48P-4X is equipped with an 800 MHz ARM processor and 512MB of memory, which work to deliver smooth and reliable data transfers with a 128 Gb/s switching capacity and 130.94 Mpps forwarding rate.

This managed rackmount switch features 48 PoE+ compliant Gigabit Ethernet ports with a 370W budget to operate compatible devices.

Segment your network into separate workgroups and communicate across VLANs without degrading application performance, which allows you to manage your switch's internal routing and dedicate your router to external traffic and security to help your network run efficiently.

With a sleek and compact, 1 RU design, the CBS250-48P-4X can fit into wiring closets and other installations within retail stores, offices, and other businesses.

Support for the Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) standard helps to significantly reduce energy consumption by monitoring the amount of traffic an active link receives and putting it to sleep during down times.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Looking at this to go between 3 PTZ cameras & a joystick controller. Is this switch good for that? Better options? Netgear?

A: The Cisco CBS350-8FP-E-2G 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed Network Switch with SFP/RJ45 Combo (120W), BH # CIS3508FPE2G, will work with PoE cameras and joystick controllers.

Q: 2. how many poe ports does it have?

A: All 48 Gigabit Ethernet ports are auto-sensing PoE+ IEEE 802.3at/af ports by default or can be configured for 24V Passive PoE. The maximum wattage per port when in 802.3at/af mode is 34.2W. The maximum wattage per port when configured for 24V Passive PoE is 17W. The combined power draw of all 48 ports in any configuration combination may not exceed 436W (the switch itself consumes 64W of the 500W provided by the power supply for operation).

Q: 3. How loud is this switch?

A: Sound Level* (dBr) 1.7-10.8 , https://dl.ubnt.com/datasheets/unifi/UniFi_PoE_Switch.pdf

Q: 4. I know very little about PoE. Any problems hooking up non PoE devices to a PoE switch?

A: No, the devices communicate so the power is sent correctly and accordingly.

Q: 5. Would this be good for gaming on multiple devices, streaming on twitch, and other workloads at the same time? would my ping go up ingame?

A: This device will handle gaming workloads without any issues. It is a business class device designed for higher throughput.

Q: 6. Can you limit bandwidth on a specific port? And can it automatically detect if a device requires PoE?

A: Yes you can limit bandwidth. As well it can detect if a device requires POE.

Q: 7. is this TAA compliant?

A: The Cisco CBS350-24FP-4G 24-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed Switch with SFP (370W), BH #CIS35024FP4G, is not TAA compliant.

Q: 8. What is the Max AC/watts and amps of the POE 48-port SFP+ with all 600w of POE used, need this info for circuit required load?

A: This Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Pro PoE 48-Port Gigabit Managed PoE Network Switch with SFP+ would use a max of 660W including the power that the switch itself would use. This would be if every Watt of PoE power is also being used.

Q: 9. is the switch configured with a web browser of the controller software?

A: The Switch will try to auto setup its IP via DHCP if that fails it will default to 192.168.1.2. You can use that address to use the interface.

Q: 10. If I connect one of the ports to my ISP Ethernet, will my Network be exposed to hacking?

A: Anything you connect to the internet can be exposed to hacking; setting up a firewall on your home network can help minimize the risk.
