The CBS350-24FP-4X is equipped with an 800 MHz ARM processor and 512MB of memory, which work to deliver smooth and reliable data transfers with a 128 Gb/s switching capacity and 95.23 Mpps forwarding rate.

The 24 PoE+ ports support up to 30W of power each, with a total budget of 370W to operate advanced surveillance cameras, videophones, thin client devices, and more.

  • Support for features such as IEEE 802.1x and port security limit access to specific segments of your network while web-based authentication provides a consistent interface to all types of host devices and operating systems.
  • Advanced defense mechanisms, such as dynamic Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) inspection, IP Source Guard, and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) snooping, help to detect and block network attacks. When combined, these protocols may be referred to as IP-MAC port binding (IPMB).
  • The IPv6 First Hop Security suite includes ND inspection, RA guard, DHCPv6 guard, and neighbor binding integrity check to protect your IPv6 network against a range of address spoofing and man-in-the-middle attacks.
  • The Cisco CBS350-24FP-4X switch supports allows you to evolve your network using the IPv6 standard while remaining compatible the previous-generation IPv4 networks.

Dynamic Layer 3 routing features include the ability to segment your network into separate workgroups and communicate across VLANs without degrading application performance, which allows you to manage your switch's internal routing and dedicate your router to external traffic and security to help your network run efficiently.

Reduce the complexity of your network while enhancing your control over a growing network by configuring, managing, and troubleshooting all your switches in a stack as a single unit using a single IP address. True stacking also provides other benefits through features such as cross-stack QoS, VLANs, LAGs, and port mirroring.

With a sleek and compact 1 RU design, the CBS350-24FP-4X can fit into wiring closets and other installations within retail stores, offices, and other businesses.

Support for the Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) standard helps to significantly reduce energy consumption by monitoring the amount of traffic an active link receives and putting it to sleep during down times.

    Related Questions and Answers

    Q: 1. Can I use this to power a JVC KY-PZ100 that has POE+ (IEEE802.3at Type2) power?

A: We would suggest going with this model for non-Ubiquiti Unifi products, https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1097087-REG/linksys_lgs108p_8_port_desktop_gigabit_switch.html

Q: 2. Does this switch come shrink wrapped/ sealed to guarantee anti-tampering?

A: No, the Ubiquiti Networks US-8-60W UniFi 8-Port Gigabit PoE Compliant Managed Switch BH #UBUS860W does not have any shrink wrapping but there will be a seal on the box.

Q: 3. Does this unit have a fan?

A: No. The case is used as a heatsink and becomes extremely hot to the touch.

Q: 4. Looking at this to go between 3 PTZ cameras & a joystick controller. Is this switch good for that? Better options? Netgear?

A: The Cisco CBS350-8FP-E-2G 8-Port Gigabit PoE+ Compliant Managed Network Switch with SFP/RJ45 Combo (120W), BH # CIS3508FPE2G, will work with PoE cameras and joystick controllers.

Q: 5. Does this 24-Port 250-Watt model ES-24-250W PoE+ switch have internal fans? Noise level?

A: Yes, there are internal fans, and for me the noise level is negligible. I only have two devices on it that require POE at this time and I do not notice the fans at all unless I've power cycled the switch. The very first models (2014ish) did have fan issues, but they've since fixed that through hardware and firmware updates.

Q: 6. Does this have to be used for connecting computers to the internet? I want to use it for connecting multiple BMD 4K monitors to 1 computer.

A: the switch is just for Ethernet! So you can use this to connect to the Ethernet ports of the BMD 4k but that will NOT give you any video signal. That is done via the SDI connection. The Ethernet is just for control and monitoring of the monitors. Bottom line You do not use this for video.

Q: 7. I currently with this 8-port switch but need more than 8 ports (I need 12 ports). Which switch would be an appropriate upgrade?

A: The only Unifi options available with more ports are the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi 16-Port Managed Gigabit PoE Switch with SFP (UBUSW16POE) or the Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Managed PoE+ 16-Port Gigabit Switch with SFP - 150W (UBUS16150W).

Q: 8. Can I run normal CAT5/6 cable from one of the SFP ports to another router/switch's RJ45 port?

A: An Ethernet cable cannot be inserted directly into an SFP fiber port. You would require an adapter such as BH #TPTLSM5310T to facilitate that connection.

Q: 9. With the cloud key running, do you have client visibility only to downstream clients or all clients on the subnet?

A: The cloud key has visibility of all the network it manages, not just a subnet or downstream.

Q: 10. Can this switch be used without a controller as an unmanaged switch out of the box or is controller based setup required?

A: Yes, the Ubiquiti Networks US-8-60W UniFi 8-Port Gigabit PoE Compliant Managed Switch BH #UBUS860W can be used unmanaged if you don't go through the controller setup or need any of the features.

[370 W] I use this switch with pfSense and UniFi U6-Pro access point (self-hosted UniFi network controller) for a home network. So far everything works as expected: power for a few PoE/PoE+ devices, VLANs, etc. The switch doesn't have a fan and it doesn't emit any audible noises. It's also possible to turn off port activity LEDs, if necessary.

[10 to 90%] We have used the Cisco SG series switches for many years and were disappointed when the line was discontinued but the new CBS line is just as good. Some minor variations in how the software is laid out but otherwise, they are just as easy to use as the SG line.

[8] This is the perfect switch to expand / extend our network. We had a POE access point driven by an injector from one end of the building to the other. I needed a couple additional wired connections and was able to repurpose the existing cable to connect to this switch and then short hop the POE to drive the access point. I was able to hook up two additional wired devices and I now have 4 additional ports available for other POE or non POE devices.
I love fast, simple, and very cost effective solutions.

[Yes] Using a pair of these switches for church worship live streaming. We have had to adopt streaming due to the whole covid situation. So have setup a network to handle all connections between cameras, computers and audio sources for the streaming and wanted a high speed uplink between sound booth and stage. It is probably a little overkill but I did not want network bandwidth to ever be a questionable issue.
The switches are working great for us and the 10 Gig uplink is established through a 100 ft CAT6a cable. PoE available on all ports (except uplinks) and working great. The switch does take about 2 minutes to become operational on power up, so we have put in small UPS units to prevent interruptions in case of a power glitch.
Good feature at a nice price.
