Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this made of metal or plastic?

A: The lens is made from a metal alloy.

Q: 2. Can this lens be attached to Leica M 4-P body? I've red that frame lines selector blocks proper fitting lens to camera body?

A: No, it is not recommended to use the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/2 Mark II Lens for Leica M with the Leica M3 or the M4-P. The frame selector switch can hit the lens.

Q: 3. Is the z mount version APS-C or Full frame?

A: Its for the Nikon Z50

Q: 4. Smooth or clicking aperture ring?

A: This 7 Artisans 35mm f/1.2 Mark II lens has a smooth aperture ring.

Q: 5. How can you confirm manual focus with the Canon R5?

A: There is no specific confirmation on the R5 for manual focus. But you can set it to magnify the image while focusing to help. Or you can turn on Focus Peaking. Page 417 in the manual, https://bhpho.to/3pewufz .

Q: 6. Could this work with a metabones speedbooster T XL? EF to MFT

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Lens for Canon EF-M will not work with a Metabones T Speed booster lens adapter because the canon lens needs to be closer to the sensor than the MFT lens for it to focus. Canon EF-M flange distance is 18mm and the MFT flange distance is 19.25mm.

Q: 7. It is compatible with Nikon Z5?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Lens for Nikon Z is a DX format lens. It can be mounted on the Z5 but because the Z5 is an FX camera, you would need to set the Z5 to DX mode. DX mode reduces the resolution to 11mp and crops the image by 1.5x. The Yasuhara Anthy35 35mm f/1.8 Lens for Nikon Z would be a better option for a full frame camera such as the Z5.: https://bhpho.to/3k9Lu9w

Q: 8. What are the dimensions of the lens?

A: This lens is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter at its widest point. And about 2 inches in height.

Q: 10. I use Sony Alpha A6400. Is the lense best for video shooting at night scene?

A: The 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1.2 Lens for Sony E (Silver) is a good lens for low light. The f1.2 allows you to work in lower light settings. They also make a 35mm f0.95 that would work in even lower light: https://bhpho.to/3J0LQJP

[Sony E] I enjoy shooting with this lens on my Fuji xPro 3. It's taken some time to learn how best to manually focus, but it's slowed my photography and I've had fun with it. Optically it's quite sharp in the middle, when you nail focus, especially when stopped down. Basically it shoots and feels like an adapted vintage lens, but it's compact like those lens originally were, not with the large adapters needed to make them work.
I would buy again.

[APS-C] I bought it to use in my XPro2, the size and weight are perfect for it, just a little smaller than the Fujinon 23mm f2 All metallic, good finishes. The diaphragm ring has clicks, they are smooth but firm, the focus ring has a comfortable round The few photos I shot show good quality, at large apertures you can see some loss of sharpness in the corners, but it is not exaggerated. Considering its price, it is an excellent alternative in this type of lens

[f/22] This lens reminds me of a cross between the old Asahi Pentax Super-Takumar lenses and a soft version of the Sigma 40mm f1.4 lens, when used with a short extension tube for close up work. The bokeh and flair make a magic mix in the right light for artistic effect... The center image can be razor sharp at times in these close ups and then drop focus faster than any lens I have worked with. The overall effect is elegant and with beautifully rendered accurate colors. At infinity the softness is high in corners when wide open, as expected. I cannot wait to try some BW portraits wide open. A True artist lens in right hands. Extremely well made. ( I shoot S1R Lumix)

[APS-C] Great balance with the weight and I love the compact size. I bought it on price and size and low light capability. It checks all those boxes. I can't objectively speak to image quality.... But I think it's good.
