Enhance your small-to-midsize business with fast and reliable Wi-Fi connections by connecting the Cisco Business 240AC Dual-Band Wireless Access Pointto your compatible network router or switch. This dual-band 802.11ac Wave 2 access point can be discreetly mounted onto a wall or ceiling to transfer data at up to 2333 Mb/s over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. Both of the 240AC's Gigabit Ethernet ports support 802.3af/at power over Ethernet, allowing you to transfer both data and power over a single cable, which can be passed through to IP cameras and other devices when connected to a compatible switch. Alternatively, you can power the access point with a separately purchased PoE injector. Up to 50 (25 recommended) access points can be used to create a mesh network that operate using a single network ID (SSID) and password. Each 240AC access point also supports up to 25 Cisco Business mesh extenders to maximize coverage, providing users with smooth experiences as they browse the internet, watch videos, and more while moving from one location to another. Use the Cisco Business mobile app to configure, manage, and monitor your network and its connected devices.

With its powerful internal omnidirectional antennas and support for 4x4 MU-MIMO and beamforming technologies, the Cisco Business 140AC can communicate with multiple devices simultaneously, transferring up to 1733 Mb/s over the 5 GHz frequency and 600 Mb/s on the 2.4 GHz band. Each access point can also handle up to 400 clients with up to 1000 clients in a system.

Your wireless network is protected by WPA/WPA2 encryption with WPA3 support coming in a future update. Other security features include RADIUS authentication, support for up to 16 VLANs, and guest network logins that can be authenticated against Google and Facebook.

With the Cisco Business mobile app for Android and iOS, you can quickly expand your network by using Quick Response (QR) codes to add new mesh extenders and devices. You can also use the app to monitor network usage, traffic patterns, and network throughput to help ensure optimal user experiences.

You can attach the Cisco Business 240AC access point to a wall or ceiling using the included hardware.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use the access point to give ethernet access via with wifi connection to router./nternet?

A: The TP-Link EAP653 AX3000 Wireless Dual-Band Access Point must have a wired connection to your router, either directly or via a switch. It will then provide wireless network (Wi-Fi) access to your network.

Q: 2. What is the difference between this and the Netgear WAX218 AX3600?

A: Netgear WAX620 has a faster RJ45 connection speed. 2.5Gb vs 1Gb.

Q: 3. Does it support 160MHz band?

A: The TP-Link EAP610 V2 AX1800 Wireless Dual-Band Access Point does not support 160MHz band. It is 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands and supports 20/40/80MHz.

Q: 4. Does this create its own wifi network, or just extend a current one?

A: The Ubiquiti Networks WiFi 6 Pro Dual-Band Access Point will not create its own SSID and will just extend an existing wired network.

Q: 5. can i buy and use it on its own without the need to buy a controller ? for example, I can plug it into my current asus wifi6e?

A: Yes, the TP-Link EAP650-Outdoor AX3000 Wireless Dual-Band Outdoor Access Point can be used connected to an ASUS router without the Omada controller. The benefit of the Omada controller is centralized cloud configuration and management of multiple access points.

Q: 6. Does this require an Aruba account and/or cloud-based management? I need to set up an air-gapped network and all network management/configuration needs to happen locally. This would be attached via a 1Gbps port on an existing managed router.

A: Yes, the Aruba Instant On AP22 Dual-Band Access Point with 12V Power Adapter require an Aruba account for setup. A local connection can suffice as well. More information can be found at https://www.arubainstanton.com/techdocs/en/content/get-started/application-login.htm

Q: 7. Signal range for this access point?

A: The range of an access point depends on many factors, including obstructions, wall density, and RF interference, but a typical guideline is to deploy one access point every 800 square feet or so.

Q: 8. does this include a power adapter?

A: The TP-Link EAP223 AC1350 Wireless Dual-Band Access Point, B&H # TPEAP223, does not include a power adapter.

Q: 9. How exactly this AP can provide 5373 Mb/s over 1000 Mb/s Ethernet?

A: On this Ubiquiti Networks WiFi 6 Pro Dual-Band Access Point, the actual internet speed will be up to 1000 Mb/s, the higher throughput is to help with multiple devices dividing it.

Q: 10. Does this include a PoE injector?

A: No, a PoE injector is not included with this access point.

[WPA, WPA2] I'm using this access point to cover a one bedroom apartment, about 700sqft or so. I have both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks under the same SSID, and all devices are using 5Ghz as expected. This means bandsteering is working well. No problems with around 10 devices in a small home.

With a fiber internet connection, I get these real-world speeds on an iPhone 12:

- 600-700mbps within line of sight in the same room.
- 500-600mbps on the other side of the wall.
- 400-500mbps everywhere else, such as through kitchen appliances and a wall, or through two walls and glass shower door.

Upload speed in these tests is approx 100mbps slower than download in every category. (e.g. if I'm getting 700mbps download, upload is around 600. If my download is 450, upload is 350.)

I have two minor cons:
- The configuration in the app without a controller is very minimal. Thankfully, I don't need it, but expect to install a controller if you need advanced features. In the iOS app using it as a standalone AP, you can only configure some basic radio power/channel settings, along with SSID.
- It gets relatively hot in use. This is normal for network gear so it's not problematic, but worth mentioning.

I have no issues using this for a small household with multiple devices at the same time. Great performance, no drops. Highly recommended!

[2.125 lb] I absolutely love Meraki Products and that doesn't change with the Meraki Go line of products.
The Meraki Go Lineup combines the affordability of consumer products and the experince of Meraki's enterprise Hardware.

Setup was painless with the guidance of the Meraki Go app.
If you have used any of the Meraki enterprise products, Meraki Go is very much simiar with a smaller and more digestable feature set making it very friendly for even the least tech savvy.

[Access Point] You should not buy this if you're not familiar with all the quirks of Cisco products. And it's somewhat ridiculous that you have to buy the antennas separately. And (if you don't have PoE) you have to buy the power adapter separately. None of which are cheap. As long as you're aware of these things, and you're familiar with using the Cisco Mobility Express configuration utility, you won't be disappointed with this WAP. I've only had it active for about a month, but so far it's been rock solid and the coverage area is greater than we expected. Very pleased with the purchase

[20 to 23 dBm] I’ve used various Omada access points over the years. The 200 series are great budget conscious models still. They may not be WiFi 6 or 7, but they get the job done and do it reliably. If you don’t need to be pushing gigabit over WiFi, and just need the basics, this one works great!
